Is the man behind your gran really really REALLY tall, or is it an optical illusion?!!!

Posted by Kateb in Wild life in our gardens on 2010-02-08 22:23:44
Perhaps I should do that - mine still isn't getting any interest!

Lovely pictures Sara - glad it went well. Dennis looks so much like you in some of those pictures!

Glad all is going well. Perhaps he could be a pegan - a part-time vegan! Good to hear you're feeding him well - the way to a man's stomach and all that! :)

I don't watch a lot of TV and dont bother with the soaps. I do like to watch strictly come dancing, the ice skating, Time team and the grand prix if I can.

Well I prefer it to iceskating!

I have seen it CC, a fab film I love Wallace and Gromit, we watched the wrong trousers over Christmas.

I have some bigger mirror carp CC but they are a dark colour so you only get to see the flash of the large mirror scales when they want you to see them. They will get tamer when the warmer weather comes.

Nobody gets nightmares watching Wallace & Gromit!! Hilarious film that Curse of the Wererabbit...just about my level! :D

A man was walking through a cemetery one dark and stormy night. As he got well into the cemetery, he heard a voice say, "Mark! Mark!". Pretending not to let it bother him, he pulled his coat a little tighter and kept walking. Again the voice said, "Mark! Mark!". That did it. He took off full speed and didn't stop till he was well outside the gates. As he stopped to catch his breath, the moon broke through the clouds enough so he could see what had been following him. It was a dog with a hare lip.

Blimey, they're huuuuge!

How can you tell if a chicken likes you? It gives you a peck on the cheek.

Posted by nanny north in Chickens and Snow on 2010-02-08 18:22:47
That would be so cool you could have a fab game of hide and seek.

Posted by chief chicken in Chickens and Snow on 2010-02-08 18:18:47
No, I wouldn't live in a castle - couldn't be bothered to clean it! I often wonder why a couple with no brats (like these footballers, frinstance)would want a seven- or eight-bedroomed house...

Some of the fish were on top earlier so I managed to get a couple of photos

I moved my birdfeeder spike on Sunday as the birds didn't seem to be using it as much. Four blackbirds were checking it out before I had even got in. I think they are all filling up on the hens food so I will have to start putting a bit of it on the spike tray.

How are the eggs and chrysalis doing B%W ?

Posted by nanny north in The Weather thread - what's the weather like with you? on 2010-02-08 17:31:14
We have snow here now It started about four thirty. The wind is bitterly cold out there. My hens went to bed early which I was pleased about as I didnt want them to get too cold and damp.

Posted by init sister in Carrots and Bananas, what's your rant for the day? on 2010-02-08 13:24:57
since I am always miles behind everyone else, I just catch up as and when I can. :-)

Posted by init sister in who will diet with me ? on 2010-02-08 13:20:55
My Ma weighs 6 1/2 stones so there is no way I'm ever going to get down to that weight. I maintain I am eating for her. :-)

They are so cute Stuart!!! William has obviously found the "purfect" home with you, with his smiles and all. I want puppies now. Bella is adorable :)

best thing: had another good day today; Lyle's parents came and brought Wart and Boggles and took us out for lunch. Came back and phoned my parents, cleaned the fish out and went for a good long walk. Returned, had some tea, then got a few hours' nap and now just chilling. Lovely Sunday!

Posted by Red in About the girls on 2010-02-07 22:54:56
CC, my mum's allergic to the animal's dander and not their actual moulted fur...means hairless cats, labradoodles etc still won't be any good. Saddest thing ever, always wanted a dog

Posted by Red in Post Yer Pics! on 2010-02-07 22:51:19
Uni is going well thanks. Been a bit ill recently so missed a day and spent it sleeping :P Nah Lyle is a 'normal' meat eater, haha. Although we have started cooking together more in the evening, so have certified him a 'teagan' - a vegan for tea! He says he eats the healthiest he's ever eaten now, and he hasn't had a vegan meal he hasn't enjoyed yet. Think it helps that his dad works and he worked at a veggie restaurant ;)

Maybe a little redirection would do the trick to get more light on the ground. I liked the idea of solar lights but they are so unreliable especially with all this fog we are having.

Posted by ollie in UK in Carrots and Bananas, what's your rant for the day? on 2010-02-07 20:54:44
Yeah, it would be good to just sit on New Posts and have all the posts come in together.

Posted by Kateb in About the girls on 2010-02-07 20:50:21
That's great Stuart - from your description I'd say that my sis-in-law's dog is a show dog then - tall and stocky. I'd never say it to her (she dotes on her badly behaved boy!) but I prefer the working springers. And what a fanstastic thing you'll both be doing - I hope you'll give us updates on how the training is going.

Posted by ollie in UK in The best thing that has happened to you today. on 2010-02-07 20:49:19
Now you didn't say she won! Though I am British and it's the "taking part" that is the important thing....

Posted by nanny north in Lets have a laugh each day on 2010-02-07 20:45:48
Well worth a try Ollie thanks

Posted by ollie in UK in Lets have a laugh each day on 2010-02-07 20:44:01
For recurring dreams you have to work out a solution (however inprobable) and use that to get out of them. It worked for me.

Posted By: ollie in UKWe'll need a little more light on the muck if we are to see Mel emerge from her winter snoozes. Pls. Sorry, I'm really not going to buy another light and wire it up - the shed will start to look ridiculous! The light is really just to provide a bit of illumination so you can still see what's happening in winter when it gets dark before I get home from work...
