I forgot to say thanks for the gender pumpkin photos NN! Take care of yourself Ollie. I hope you aren't overdoing it and can spend time relaxing. Sit back and give your orders out instead! I think it's rained everywhere today - except drought struck Europe! My cats wil roam from front door to back door, and then to front again over and over, each time meowing at me as if to tell me to turn the water off!

The thing with gooseberries is most people eat them un ripe left to ripen they are lovely The large green ones should be a golden yellow to be enjoyed at their best. I also have a red variety and they go dark burgundy almost black when they are ripe yummm delicious. My hens used to eat all my beasties as well CC and would even jump up and catch butterflies. I do miss them and their soft chatter whilst doing my gardening.

Thank you for your kind comments Ollie so sorry you are not well, I hope you feel better real soon. I only showed you the best bits of the garden !!! My poor veg plot behind the summer house is a right tip sort of out of sight out of mind. We did plant some potatoes in there which are really tasty. I want to get it cleared out by autumn so I can plant some broad beans and garlic. Its either too hot too wet or my back isnt up to it at the moment. I know excuses excuses !!! So nice just to sit out and enjoy the nice bits of the garden though. Now G/N has put up the second gazebo I take my craft work out there and its lovely and wind proof. The grassy side will be turned over to Mallorys pool in a couple of weeks.

I love hydrangeas CC they are fairly easy to care for so you should be fine with it. I popped into B@Q this morning and managed to snag myself five really nice big pots of Cape Daisy fro their condemned shelf. Just what I needed to brighten up the decking on the summer house. Ha! I'm the same with cherries, Kate, following an enormous binge on them with a friend when I was 5...never touched one since! I'd love those beasties in my garden, NN, but I reckon they'd be a hen's dinner in a matter of minutes.

Caitlyn chose a necklace for her-tiny angel wings with a tiny pearl. Your ideas were fantastic CC! I really should plan further ahead and then I could've got something better. Never mind, my niece (who I need to knit for) is due in Oct I think so can use the ideas for that baby!

They're by amazing NN! I hope the adults come visit. Can't imagine seeing something like that flying around the garden. Haven't eaten a gooseberry myself since school when we went picking them and I ate too many. The stomach ache was awful!

That is such a lovely idea to share your garden with us all. Mine is quite wild and odd pieces. Wish I could on the pics for you but I'm not up to much with my health. I have all the weeds that the slugs don't want. A bed of Rose Bay Willow Herb against a straggly red Acer and a Stag Horn Shumac tree. Also a Fatsia all crushed together on the North front. Not a lawn, just wild grass which gets cut sometimes around the table and chairs. A narrow (fairy) path round between them and the privet hedge mostly occupied by Yellow Rattle that keeps the grass down. Had to put a new fake bridge in, t'other rotted away. You can't see it just now, only at night when it's green solar string lights come on. I have four other very small bits of garde...

Yes CC I had to as I had never seen that type before yet I have seen the huge beautiful pink moths many times when I lived in Cambridgeshire, so I am excited to have some in my garden here oop norf !! A friend on face book said they love gooseberry bushes so glad I got several of those. I just hope I dont start finding babies under them as I am more than happy with just the caterpullers

glad be be of use CC !!!! G/N bought me this beautiful Daisy plant yesterday the flowers are a good three inches across. It is supposed to attract butterflies and sure enough I just got it in its posh pot and look what happened.

G/N made me laugh as the rather snooty woman in the post office snapped, whats in the parcel? and G/N replies a horticultural specimen, He said that made her mouth snap shut !!!!! If they dont take we can always try more in the autumn.

Thanks NN, but I suppose the whole point is that I make it, otherwise I can just go to a shop and buy one! Kids nowadays seem to want shop made 'perfect' items anyway. It would be a lot neater if you did it, but it's been ages since I've knitted I could do with something to occupy me!

They are petunias Kate and come in all sorts of colours. You can get trailing ones or upright ones. I got mine from B@Q from the condemned shelf I get most my plants from there they are all cheap and just need a bit of love and care and hey presto you got a garden full of beauty at a fraction of the cost,

All you got to do is pay the postage xx I made the Alpacas for a friends girl CC, she was over the moon with them, she is alpaca and llama mad The little Norwegian Nissi ( barn troll) is a experiment I am working on at the moment. He came out much better than I expected I just need a brighter pink nose and a wee bit of stuffing in the hat. I will also try to work out arms for dome and legs for others sounds odd but thats what they are like over there I can not think that I have seen any with both !!!!

I vaguely remember a phase when I was trying to make nettle clothing... I have a section of my yard reserved for them. They fill with lady bugs. And they grow to about 7 feet high.

He's a beauty. Yes, they probably DO do that, to make it seem like they have less complaints. You can fool them though. Type up what you want to say in in Word document or whatever you use and then cut and paste it into the place they have for you to send issues. Make it long and flowery. :)

What a bind...computers are such a pain in the arse. I spent ages composing a snottagram to Bucks County Council and perfected it, pressed 'send' and it told me my session had 'timed out'. AAAARGH! They do it on purpose... Are you going to get the frocks, Kate?

I've just chosen 6 dresses to order from Debenhams - I'm going to a christening on Sunday and have an interview on Monday - but couldn't remember my password so asked for a reset. When I got the reset and logged in (bearing in mind it said I didn't need to be logged in to shop) it had lost the 6 I chose and the basket was empty. Needed to order by 9pm to get next day delivery but really can't be bothered to scroll through pages and pages to find them again (they won't come up in the history-get an error).
