Oh, bunny room has expanded again!!!

Not only does she have the whole room now but she gets to bounce around the landing too :tooth:

She was out a few hours yesterday morning, then came out again in the afternoon...she spent 90% of her time just lounging around sleeping :rolling:

She seems so happy! It's great that she can have such a big area to explore, and how wonderful that she doesn't seem to be fearful at all.

I've never heard of flavoured Baytril - why on earth can't we have it too? They'd say there's "no demand" but if owners don't know it exists how can they demand it?!

She's really happt atm, I bought a small plastic stool for her the other day (I want to give her more toys but she doesn't do very well with tunnels or houses) so need to remember to bring it up for her

I'd never heard of flavoured Baytril either, Lyle discovered it whilst looking up ways to get the piggles to take their meds - he said it seems a lot of piggles and rats LOVE the taste and look forward to med time! So jealous haha, we rang up some online companies that sell Baytril if you have a prescription but couldn't find any of those with it in the UK either.

Look at Aubree and Kale! It was so funny, Kale was trying to get into Aubree's crate (she wanted to go home, but of course when you put her home she wanted out!!) and Aubree was smelling her out and following her around :rolling:

**gross pic incoming** - my little litter trained girl! Just over 24 hours' use :tooth:

I lifted what was her food bowl off the floor as it was too hard to clean between the logs. Now I've built a wall around a feeding area, so that her food can be contained. She knows it's there totally already, and seems to be a fan

Lyle said she did the world's biggest binky today NN - I was in the other room and heard a thud, asked what it was and it was Aubree binkying :rolling:
Had some adorable moments with the pigs these past few days so lots of pics to share :)

First they enjoyed some time on the windowsill when it was sunny the other day!

    Keeper of the hens

You might have noticed the name of this thread has changed ;)

First, here are some Aubree pics, because I'm keeping you waiting :D

She loves chasing us around the room :rolling:

     photo newbun11_zpsboa6sawv.jpg

Grooming has become very easy now, she can withstand a lot which means we're able to do proper health checks and trim out lugs much easier

     photo groomingbun4_zpsxcqogfyu.jpg

This is a mix of lugs and wispy hair that hay gets stuck in

     photo groomingbun5_zpscr7j5w6g.jpg

Needless to say Aubree didn't notice at all that there was anybody new in the house :P

     photo newbun12_zps4higkxm0.jpg

     photo newbun13_zpsgoik9hy8.jpg

    And then we have Omri!

     photo newbun1_zps5gjner1v.jpg

Omri is an almost 4 month old Mini Lop with aeroplane ears (one up one down), just like Domino, remember?!

     photo newbun7_zpsklahkpx4.jpg

He's a really big boy (bigger than Aubree already) and a total soft lump, you can do anything to him. He hasn't been home one day yet but it's so strange having a rabbit that can see and hear again, it's really really weird...I'm having to remind myself constantly I can't be loud next to the cage.

    Keeper of the hens

So Aubree has herself a little husbun!!

We're not 100% sure we will try intro them yet, but we have a while to think it over as we can't get Omri neutered for another few months anyway...I just don't know how well intro'ing Omri to Aubree would go, seeing as she's deaf and blind. Maybe we'll try it, maybe we won't, they'll be spoilt rotten either way :P

If they do have a successful intro they will live in Aubree's XXL dog crate with a 4x4ft of run permanently attached (along with free ranging obviously); if intros go badly or we decide to keep them separate, Omri will get his own crate and they will just enjoy separate play time.

I'm excited to have a rabbit I can interact with, be it cuddles, strokes or clicker training...I love Aubree to bits and she is absolutely fantastic, but I am excited to have a rabbit I can love on, instead of just love watching

Trouble is when you intro them there is a lot of 100mph chasing and lumps of fur flying which i don't think Aubree could cope with...and are they neutered? However if they are in cages next to eachother then they could get used to the smell of eachother. I did that with Fred and Roger and Roger took matters into her own paws and dug her way out to be with Fred; it was the least stressed intro I had ever experienced!

Omri is a cutey-pie!! It's a good job you live in a little house or I dread to think how many animals (and how big!) you'd have if you had a big 6 bed mansion!! :) These animals are so lucky - if there is such a thing as reincarnation I want to be your pet in the next life!!!

CC we're not sure if we will introduce them, and we have a few months to decide - Omri should be 6 months old before neutering, and then you have to wait a few weeks longer I think, to be sure they won't have babies!!! It would certainly be easier if they lived together and could free-range at the same time, but it's not necessary. If we were going to do an intro we would probable have cages and runs side by side, so they could free-range almost with each other, but not quite!

The dream would be to have an animal rescue Kate :)

Aww thanks haha, we try do our best for them! Omri's from pretty much the only good pet shop in the area (we've had a lot of our pets from there). They've started breeding their own guinea pigs and rabbits occasionally, and Omri was in their first litter of rabbits

Thanks CC :tooth: CC, the name fit far too well with Aubree, and it's the main character from a book I loved as a kid - you know the Indian in the cupboard series? Well I only had the first book as a kid but I loved it, and Omri and Aubree sound so sweet together!

To show you quite how much bigger Omri is than Aubree already

     photo buns2_zpspog9jyj4.jpg

     photo buns1_zpsncjo4m7t.jpg

    TWO SPRAWLED BUNNIES!! :rolling:

     photo sprawledbuns_zpso0r5eb5j.jpg

So Omri's settling in great. Already coming to the cage door to greet us, taking treats from our hands, and has no issues being stroked - yaaay  We did offer him time out last night (just brought the cage down and left the doors open for an hour or so) but he didn't fancy it, and there was no need to force him.

Aubree still loves her time out, and she is slowly getting better with handling - grooming's no problem at all anymore, and I can even stroke her a few times when she isn't eating. Still binkying, still adorable, still Aubree

     photo sprawledbuns1_zps5yzx3thc.jpg

I also spent £24 on a cat tree...for the rabbit(s) :rolling: Not sure Aubree can manage it (who knows though, she did jump on that cushion half a dozen times!), she's welcome to try though! Spent over an hour trawling through various designs at various prices; the one I found has easy to jump gaps, a nice easy layout to climb, and at 96cm isn't *too* tall - hope Omri's a fan!

He's still not come out of his crate properly yet, although today I managed to get him just out the door with some nuggets :)

     photo bunnyfriends2_zpsnqg5ekgv.jpg

     photo cratebun6_zpsf650ytsf.jpg

And then I put some pen around Omri's crate to give him a bit of space, and Aubree came out...most the time she was oblivious to him, although she did sniff him calmly a few times - they even touched noses!!

     photo bunnyfriends3_zpsciavie7n.jpg

     photo bunnyfriends4_zpsakvhizy7.jpg

Omri was hilarious though, he couldn't understand why Aubree wasn't acting like a normal bunny, and would follow her constantly

We love his markings too! Depending on what he's doing the white bits on his back either look like wings or a loveheart!! Thanks :tooth:

I can't believe he hasn't come out yet!! It's not even that he's a nervy bunny - it's like he's playing the floor is lava, he's just there now sprawled out right next to the crate door!!

    Keeper of the hens

I managed to get Omri out last night, I sat near the cage and rewarded him for moving towards the door, poking his head over the threshold, putting paws out etc...last night he stepped out about 30cm from the crate door, eating treats, then he'd hop back into the crate. He did this four times before deciding that was enough.

Today I went to open the crate door and there was no stopping him!!!

I managed to catch his first binkies on cam, tacked some Aubree binkies onto the end of it, added some happy-bunny music and tada!
