Haha! I suspect there is!! Meow Meow stayed in last night and I woke up at 5.45 because he was purring so loudly cuddled up to hubby having fuss. :wha:

So happy to tell you that Minnie seems to have built up immunity from flea bites this year. I can not tell you what a relief that is to us all. She is such a sweet little girl and hasnt got a mean bone in her body, so gentle and loving I must do some more photos for you all I havent posted any in such a long while.

It would be lovely to see some pictures NN, and I'm so pleased she's coping better with flea bites.

I'm struggling at the moment because there's a lovely old girl at homing called Millie. She is 15 and has arthritis, and being in the pen all day is making her stiffer. Problem is she doesn't like other cats so I can't bring her home even if I wanted to. I so wish I could find her a home - every now and then one really pulls at your heartstrings.

I think you're brilliant to do the job at all, Kate; I'd end up with 197 cats!

I have to remind myself how much a vet charges-that restrains me!

Very true. We saw a ten year old vet for eight minutes on Monday and it cost £18.40. No meds, no ear cleaning, nothing.

The prices they charge for a vet visit here is horrible too. I had Chloe in for her yearly wellness check up yesterday and they did nothing and charged $52 dollars. :face-sad:

I recently posted on a vet practice comment thread because they were moaning about owners arguing over the bill and said they shouldn't have pets if they can't afford them. I put that vets shouldn't be carrying out tests that owners can't afford and making them feel like bad owners for not having the latest all singing all dancing diagnostics such as CT scans when a stethoscope and knowledge used to be enough. There doesn't seem to be much balance.

Thanks!! I thought I'd get some grief back, but I didn't. I acknowledged that it's a two way process and owners need to be realistic too, but that the onus is on the vet to make owners aware of costs and be realistic about appropriate treatment and guide owners and support them to make humane and sensible decisions. Don't think it gave them any room to criticise back!
