So excited to see so many posts from my beloved buddies. :rowofhearts:

I LOVE that photo, NN. And CC's pun - entails. Har.

My kittens are six months old as of the 14th. Well, Merlin as of the 2nd. Hakuin and Merlin (who are cousins ... and half brothers because ... cats) weigh about 9 pounds. Harri, however, (Hakuin's baby brother) weighs about 10 pounds! It almost throws your back out to pick him up. His feet are like he is wearing baseball gloves on them.

NN I am eating waffles (vegan ones) with peanut butter and PLUM SAUCE on them, as I write. So yummy.

Kate I carry a laptop for my job as a DCR (Designated Crisis Responder). We have just entered the world of electronic health records. So we go into this online app and all the client data is there for any client we have ever seen. Still have hot batteries in these computers though. I sure it isn't out of consideration for cats. We are way behind you guys on things like this. Our local hospital only switched to EHR last year.

Wow, we've had electronic records for many years now, though they are done alongside paper ones - can't get the doctors to give up on pen and paper!! Also, paper doesn't go down when there's a problem with the system, and can't get hacked en mass! I've spend 26 years in the NHS and have always been able to access patient records, but I'm not allowed now. I might read something I'm not allowed. Having signed a confidentiality agreement on day one I really don't see the problem, but data protection rules have changed so much.

I can't believe how old your kittens are now Diane, or how big they are!! I reserved a kitten of the same age this weekend and he was 3.2kg and considered on the plump side!!!!! Yours must be crossed with a big breed.

It don't seem possible that six months have passed so quickly Diane. Your Kitties are growing so fast. Time we had some more photos when you have a moment to spare. My Sootz is a huge cat weighs over a stone. He has massive paws and they are so furry underneath, Mickey looks so slender next to him. Minnie is my tiny little girl. She mostly lives upstairs but does like to go outside for a little while when she feels like it. As CC says he will grow into his paws and be a big cat. Those waffles sound lovely I like lemon juice and sugar or butterscotch sauce and a little butter. No wonder I am plump ha ha

The craft room is a wooden lean to type of building. and its coming on a real treat. The shell is almost done then we will just have to tart up the inside as money permits. Yes CC all will be welcome to come in as long as they create no mess, or sit on what I am doing especially if its wet paint !! I did have a spot in G/N shed but because I always tidied up behind myself it just got to be a real pain having to take all the junk back off my table every time I needed to use it !!! I can not work in a mess and like to know every thing is where it is meant to be. I will do pictures when I get a minute to spare.

It sounds fab NN, I hate that I have to do everything on my lap so am constantly putting it away, getting it out ... I used to have a bedroom for myself for a very brief period of time but that disappeared when Danny moved back home, and now it's Caitlyn's bedroom.

    Looking forward to seeing photos!

I know what you mean Kate and do consider myself so lucky. The outside is almost complete now, just got the guttering to finish and the odd bit to tidy up apparently. We got plans to make it nice inside but that will take a while as we need to get the funds together for that. I will still be able to use it mean time so that's handy.

My sittens are from barn cats with an unknown father. They didn't seem like particularly huge kitties, but now that I think of it - Harri's aunt (Merlin's mother)who Harri looks exactly like, is a fairly big girl. And who knows about daddy... How much is a 'stone' in pounds?

That space you are building sounds so lovely, NN.

Oh, found this thread again. I asked elsewhere - Kate are you getting a kitten? I notice I called mine "sittens" above. Freudian slip if I'd added an H.

Everyone, I could use all the positive energy and prayers you can muster for my sweet Holly. She is having dental surgery tomorrow. She 15.5 years old so it's a bit scary. I have done everything I know to do to prepare her. She has an acupuncturist who lived and trained in China. In addition to his treatments (and his reading her labs from her regular vet and saying that her organs are very healthy and labs good) he has been giving her this Chinese treatment that soldiers there use to control bleeding, because that is a danger in mouth surgery. I hand make all her food and I've been trying to keep her spirits high even though I think her mouth hurts her by taking her on walks where she gets to lead us everywhere and sniff as long as she wants. The surgery is at 8 am my time and the surgeon is very good.

Sorry, I didn't mean that I'd reserved it for me, I was at rehoming so did the work around introductions with a new family and THEY reserved it (but I count it in my numbers!!)

Sending lots of good vibes and wishes to Holly - and to you, I think it's more stressful for the owner than the pet sometimes! You've done so much for her it's amazing. She's very advanced in age now, but it's very reassuring that the vet has checked her out and and she's healthy. My cat, Emmett, who passed away last year aged 22, had her eye out when she was 17 or 18. I was very worried because of her age but the vet told me the same and she sailed through it.

Diane all love and hugs to you and Holly, I know what a worry it is... we had Sootz teeth done two years ago, we could have gotten away with it as they were not giving him any bother but could have been troublesome two years ahead. We thought we would get them out while he still had his full strength, as he is really old for a Mainecoon cat. He did really well and the vets were really good with him, but I did cry all the way home in the car and on and off till we got him safe home with us again. I will try and get a picture of him and Mickey side by side so you can see the size difference. Trouble is Mickey is a right fidgety-jibbit and dont stay in any one place for long. Let us know how it all went. All love xx

THANK YOU ALL for all your good thoughts and energy. She HAS sailed through it. You would hardly know she had three teeth pulled yesterday. I'm keeping the kitten boys locked in their room away from her for awhile though and they are not happy. At all. Even though they have every kitten toy under the sun in there with them.

On Facebook today a long video I did in 2014, walking around our village, came up. I looked at it with confused emotions. So much happiness and also just knowing how hard it would have been if this surgery had gone badly. I am such a lucky person and so grateful for my little dog. And for each of you.

CC - I would have been skyping you but the damn thing isn't working. I'm going to try to reload it.

Well the new shed is up and running. It is nice and cosy and relaxing compared to G/N shed. Cats are banned due to wanting to take over and get into every thing. I did warn them but typical cats they take no notice and wanted to stretch out right where I was painting. G/N is in and out, mostly for a warm I think !! He got so used to me being in his shed He said it feels lonely in there now. Plus I got chocolate, sweets, a comfy chair and a heater in mine !!! I will get pictures real soon.

It looks great NN!! I went to the craft show on Friday with Caitlyn and their was a stand there selling desk and shelving set ups that open out or fold in to hide it all but they were mega expensive! We had a lovely day together - the show wasn't as good as I expected. I bought Caitlyn a marbling kit which she'd had a go at and loved, but we tried it today and the results weren't as good and it took ages to get it all set up. I also bought her a hair curling wand which I burnt myself on first time we tried it. And some blendypens which were great on the stand but not so good at home. If nothing else it taught me that I'm gullible and in future to keep my purse in my bag!! But she was so good and so grateful for everything it was worth it. Best thing I bought was a beading mat for £1! Has made life a lot easier for me!

Its such a shame you were disappointed with your purchases Kate but so nice you were able to have some premium girly time together. Bless her she sounds such a lovely girl Mallory isn't greedy either and its so nice to treat her to nice things.
Let me know how Tuppence gets on with her sardines CC, I made mine one sardine as I thought it would be nice to have something different and only Sootz was interested in it, Mickey just wanted to get his head inside the catnip tin and managed to get it out of my hand and spill it..... Minnie was happy to squirm about on my slippers and the carpet where it spilt. I showed it to Tim and he has requested I make them one, but I said he had to join the end of the queue. I managed to get one of the shawls done and have made a start on the second one. Then I got all my Christmas crafts in the shed to finish, No wonder I get so tired. I don't seem to stop !!!

I can't believe how quickly time is passing - I must decide what blanket I'm going to make for my friend (will this be The Blanket 5? I've lost count!!)
I get frustrated that I never seem able to do anything crafting until it's late. My eyes are tired then and I find it hard to do without making mistakes and having to keep undoing whatever I'm making.
I had a go at lacemaking at the show. I've always wanted to try it - the lady taught me 2 simple stitches and I can understand how it's done, but they must spend a lot of time joining more cotton on to the bobbins. It's not something I'll take up now that I've tried it, but it's almost like scratching an itch and being satisfied with the brief tryout!

Stone carving is fantastic though and something you are not afraid to touch. Ive often fancied a go at it trouble is I do so many things as it is so not a lot of time to do new things. I wish G/N was here! There's a gap in my guttering that just needs pulling back together. I spoke to my neighbour and he said if hubby lets him know when he'll bring the ladder and help him, but hubby just won't do it! SO frustrating - the dripping water drives me mad!

I've got to do another blanket. My work-daughter is having a baby and it's due in March, but she's quite petite and they think she might have it early. I just can't choose the wool. I want something soft but that can be machine washed and tumble dried. The wool I used last time was ok once the blanket was made and washed, but it was quite harsh when it was new and not pleasant to work with.

Thank you so much. The big hedgehog was sold before I had even got the table set up which was handy as it paid for the table. It was a shame as the stall holders got put into a class room while the main event was in the hall so we got badly over looked. I left G/N in charge of table while I went out into the corridor to direst people in to us. all stall holders were so glad I did else we wouldn't have sold anything G/N and I did reasonably well but it could have been so much better. I did say about it to the school governor that invited us there so she made a note of it. So hopefully another time it will be better.

Thanks Lynn, it was very well received, We had a super day with friends and they loved their meal. I did a baked ham it was delicious and we swapped presents as we wont see them until the new year now. Paul didn't realise it was a bottle of wine. He just thought it was a Christmas decoration Ha ha. Sue said well we can always fill the bottle with sand after we have drunk the wine and have a very festive door stop !!! I got to make one more now for my friend and neighbour

Cor talk about a comedy of errors today.....G/N decided to put us a new front door in. I offered to help but he declined in a very firm voice and I thought I had best get well out of the way so went into the kitchen to get the marzipan on the Christmas cakes. I got that done and decided to ice them while I was at it. I hate working in a mess so decided to unload the dishwasher and discovered that it hadn't washed. On closer inspection I discovered the sink was semi blocked, so put some buster gubbins down it and went and put the ironing away. On return to kitchen I boiled kettle of water and poured boiling water down plughole and then gave it a good plunging. Run the tap with hot water and hey presto water went down better than normal. Then I realised my feet were soaking... Yup the blinking pipe had come off. Cleared up the flood as G/N had heard my swearing he came to see what I was up to. Very good heartedly he replaced the pipe as he was doing that Meter man came and I had to shift all the stuff G/N had leaned up against the cupboard. Decided to have a cup of tea and a sit for a mo. I rather stupidly put it on Mickeys shelf as space was limited due to having to shift all the stuff from the meter cupboard. Yup you guessed it Mickey didn't want it on there so I had to move the stuff again and my arm chair and the settee to get all the tea cleaned up. Went back in kitchen had a cup of water and managed to get the icing on the cakes. I have had enough now and decided we can have fish and chips for tea tonight. Thankfully they do a gluten free night on Tuesdays. I hope you all had a better day xxx

Bargain.... we went to Asda for a few little bits and bobs and there on the bargain shelf G/N spotted a turkey crown half price so we grabbed that asap!! So got home and have cut in in half so we got half for over the weekend and the other half in the freezer for another day. We have beef rib joint for Christmas day as most of our family don't care for turkey. I love it so we certainly wont miss out this year !! I got it in the oven cooking now and my stomach wont stop grumbling it smells soooo good. I managed to get a couple of cardboard boxes so have something to put my ornaments in. G/N will go up into the loft when he has finished his cup of coffee and fetch the tree and decorations down for me. I got one cake decorated and another almost done. G/N wants to do the third one. I got it all prepared for him as he has been busy putting the new front door in. Our house is old and nothing measures up right in it, so it has taken him a while to fit. It looks lovely though and I am really pleased with it

Wow NN, you and GN have been so busy!! I feel extremely lazy - still haven't got the tree out. Wish hubby would do it for me but as it's at the very back of the cupboard under the stairs with everything piled on top he doesn't see it as his job! Still got loads of little things to wrap - sweets, DVDs, dressing gowns ... but my son has used up most of the sellotape and broken my dispenser into the bargain.

Now CC no feeling inferior needed we all got our different skills. Think of the joy you bring with your music. Don't forget I am retired now so am free to enjoy Christmas with no rush and hassle. I still manage to end up rushing about trying to finish every thing last minute. I truly don't know how I did manage when I was at work as Ive always done a cake and loads of decorations probably makes up for not having much as a child !!! Thank goodness you got your lovely Kathleen to help you out.
Kate G/N was such such a Grinch, a few years back he was really horrible and didn't want a tree or any of my special little Christmas bits I had collected over the years. I said no Christmas dinner then and I ended up in floods of tears. He was so shocked he had upset me so much and is more than keen to help me with every thing now.

I'm not a big Christmas person really, but I think it should be special for the kids and I feel every year that I haven't done enough for them. If I insisted he wouldn't stop me, but he won't do anything to help either.

The cats are loving the tree - I put a big piece of organza over the stand and they take it in turns to sleep on it while the others sit and scowl waiting for their turn!

Mickey and Minnie are the ones most likely to have a spat and its usually about who sleeps where on the bed. Little sods wait until we are just about asleep and then start.

We decided to have a little revamp of the kitchen. All on a tight budget nothing posh just a lick of paint and some new cupboard doors... B and Q cheapest did the trick quite nicely, then we were so pleased with the result we decided to splash out on a new cooker hood the old one must have been a second hand one sold by Noah when he dismantled the ark. Our house is old and there are often little historic gems that we come across when we change something. Well we found some funny old wall paper this time. Autumn leaves and cones, took a picture so you can have a little trip down the ages as well ….

Those glasses got called so many bad names Im surprised they didn't catch fire !! He is more than happy with them now though

I know the sort of wallpaper you mean Kate but no it wasn't that this is just plain old paper. We just covered it over be something for someone else to find at a later date. Goodness knows what is hiding behind the cupboard. The is a big cupboard in the front bedroom its over the stair well. When I got to removing the paper in there, there must have been about six layers of different colours and patterns. The last layer was of cute puppies and kittens I had this overwhelming feeling it was used for a babies cot area . There would have been plenty of room for a cot. If walls could talk eh?

There is so much history in some houses. My friend is the same age as me (54) and has lived in her house since she was a very small child. It was a new-build when they moved in, so has been her home for about 50 years. Not a lot compared to your friend's CC, but how great is that.

1840's papers that is so interesting I love coming across little finds like that. Our garden was just grass with a few paving stones here and there when we moved in. We also had 40foot leylandii which G/N Jay and I managed to get down. They were awful and took all the lovely light out of the garden, Anyhow i digress what I wanted to tell you was I dug up all sorts of bits and bobs The weirdest being three black stone gnomes that were all burried heads down. They were are about a foot high. Mallory and I painted them up one year, nice bright colours whick has made them less scary. Oh I found a few little flowers blooming in the garden even though it has been so cold and frosty

We have a little group of purple crocus which self seeded (?) in a silly spot in a crack in the concrete just by the gate where they get hit by the gate every time we go through it. They got the snow (couple of inches) dumped on them as well, yet once the snow melted they still sit there cheerfully, little flowers open...I'd like to move them somewhere safer but if I did I expect they'd die.

Isnt it funny where some plants are determined to live. My friend just across the road from me has a beautiful peony that comes every year from a tiny crack in the ash -felt beside her fence. She has tried and tried to get it to come and bloom inside her garden to no avail. I have planted so many crocus in my garden since we have lived here the hens dug most of them up and ate them. They also dug up most of the daffodils to kill them, they are poisonous to hens apparently.

We had very little snow and it didnt stick Kate. We are fairly lucky with the weather here. Jay is only thirty minutes away from us in Derby shire and they usuall have loads of snow there.
