    Keeper of the hens

This is beyond strange (and I really do think we have psychic hens - something like the mothman from The Mothman Prophecies!)

Yesterday afternoon I posted on the blog simply titled 'earthquake' saying how the wind was making the cam look like we were experiencing an earthquake, and mere hours later the UK experienced it's strongest real earthquake in 24 years - 5.2 on the richter scale!

Apparently it woke a few people up round here, but I think I must have slept through it, and thankfully there doesn't appear to be anything damaged building or coop wise!

So was anyone watching at around 1am our time and saw the cam wobble, or heard anything?

I heard the news report this morning and the first thing I thought of was your blog and whether the hens felt it!! Some people I work with saw their wardrobes rocking that sort of thing, but I was in the land of nod and didn't see or feel a thing.

I was at work and following our office in Amersham rumbling and shaking I reported it on the police radio.. and they also felt it at our Oxford HQ.... and then it hit Sky news.. half the country felt it

It was felt here too in the little village. 5.2 on the richter scale and about an 8.9 on the sphincter scale!!

Now I thought I had posted my bit about the quake, but can't find it now.
I know I sometimes click on the wrong bit at the bottom!

Earthquake woke me up. I have been troubled by a rodent in my roof space for some time now and woke to this huge clattering. My first horrified thought was that there was a mass of rodents scampering around on my ceiling.
But why was my bed shaking ???
Then I thought the rattly old tv ariel on the chimney had come adrift in the high wind.
But why was my bed shaking ???
First light saw me walking round the garden viewing the roof for debris. Nothing abnormal detected. It was later I heard about the earthquake.
The noise must have been the roof tiles dancing about.
