    Keeper of the hens

It's like a social networking site (I know, groan!) but without all the stupid friend/invitation/spam/rubbish that goes with it...

Basically you can choose to 'follow' a friend, then whenever that friend updates it can send you their message via email, or web, or even text message - and it's all free as well (even the texts are free)!

You can follow hencam here - if enough people follow the site then I'll probably post updates to it more than once every 139 days! ;)

Let me know what you think...

Me too up to a point.... which is why I don't use mebo, myspace and whatever the latest flavour is 'in' with the kids (too old for that rubbish now!), but for example, if you were so inclined, you could receive a text message "Cam move in 1 minute!" then you'd know to log on and see Scarlet move the cam, or whatever.

That's a poor example, but for instance when we'd had Lottie we could have sent alerts when she was going to be fed on camera, rather than the hit and miss affair it was at the time...

It's good for been able to receive an instantly accessible message from somebody/something you are interested in. And for that I think it's a good thing. :)

At first I thought "what a great idea, getting a text when the cam's moving so's I can see it" but then realised that it's taken me til now (11.15pm) to get on the pooter this evening so I'd be even more disappointed that I'd missed it!

What made me laugh about it was that I was like that today. Fine-tuning a piano for a concert/competition. Enter Lady With Hoover; 'Will it disturb you if I 'oover in 'ere, luv?'
I felt like Wazza's cartoon. For all I know I may have looked like it too.

I think it might share a lot in common with piano tuning really. For one, I bet we both have to know how the whole thing is built. On the other hand, the structure you work with is tangible while mine is invisible, hidden deep in someone's internal world. I'm guessing another similarity is that every thing gets worse before it gets better. LOL People come to therapy thinking they'll feel better. And of course, for awhile, they feel a bit worse - like R***** P** :P

At least you can help them see WHY they feel worse. I suppose it's like me tuning a piano that hasn't been done for years; they expect it to be perfect after I've gone, so I tell them that one tuning won't make it right, any more than one visit to a gym would make me fit, and that the piano is probably feeling like I would if I DID go to a gym! :)

Kate, it's not so fun holding Chelsea on my lap. She wants to hold hands while I pet her..so I have to pet with my left hand and let her wrap her paw around my right thumb..if I forget to keep petting her, she drags my hand over and bites me...not that she is a demanding kitty or anything. I've never had a cat want to hold hands with me before, or sit and watch a computer screen with chickens on it all day. The older she gets the nuttier she has become.

Ahh that would be because about 6 months ago Twitter stopped sending text messages out in the UK ;)

Apparently it was costing them too much to send the text messages... so now you can still 'follow' people but you don't get the texts.

Just recently Vodaphone users can get free texts from twitter, but that's it for the UK I think.

I've been making the odd update, even texting pictures from my phone when we've been out and about, but I wouldn't say you were actually missing anything by not seeing them!

If that doesn't make any sense then it's probably the pint of Sangria I've just drunk...
