Did you rescue him in the end and return him to his rightful field?! I was once held up in traffic (I was third in the queue) by a small cow (a bit bigger than a calf) that had escaped from a field and was ambling up the road. I phoned the police and they said "not again, we've already put it back in the field once". It wandered along until it came to a driveway and headed on up to the house. It was on a road where all the houses are over a £million!

There are lots of cows on the road here. Mostly driving 4x4s with no idea of how to put them into 4wheel drive or even to park it.
Ooops, sorry; what the americans call 'venting', I believe...? ;)

Awww. Moo Moo is a cutie. Probably not what you were thinking at the time.

Yes, venting - so much fun. What do you call it? Having a moan?

Whingeing. Grousing. Grumbling. But then, the motto here is 'mustn't grumble', so I ought not to!

Moo cow implies - to me -cuddly smiley animal. Bull implies something else entirely. And politicians.

When I was five, I had my photo taken with the calf, it was taller than me. I wouldn't stop crying, it took them ages to realise it was standing on my foot.

Cows are very, very large creatures. Hot, smelly and acres of cow.
    Awesome to cuddle up to.

I hate cow pats 'cos when you're walking they always look dry and crispy on top, then you accidentally step on them and yep, you guessed it, they're stinking and runny underneath...it's just gross.

LOL - CC, you explained one unfamiliar word to me by using another one. But how could you know that? So - mithering is sort of like sniveling or bitching?

I'm amazed at how many words we have for complaining. Its like Eskimos have 20 + words for snow. :D

Apparently that's a fallacy - they have about 4 words for snow, but different adjectives.
Mithering is quiet...snivelling implies snot and bitching implies nastiness. I don't think there's an equivalent really! Sort of wistful quiet grumbling.
Now go and put it in your vocabulary book. Are we on Book 2 yet? :)

My dictionary says they are the same but inflammable really means NOT flammable as IN means NOT.
The term is incorrect and should not be used as may cause confusion in technical contexts.
