When I was a kid, the man that lived next door to my grandmother was a keeper at the local zoo..he brought home a lion cub to raise till it was big enough to go on display at the zoo. I use to get to play with her..man that little thing could bite..I've still got the scar on my arm...My favorite will always be a lion anyway...she was a sweet girl...just a little nippy at times.

Smarties = like M&Ms only proper chocolate and taste nice.
Toblerone = almondy honey nougatty chocolate in triangles in a long tube. Google it; it's easier!

Orange Smarties for me, please, Vicki!

I used to like orange smarties, but they took some E numbers out and messed about and they just don't taste the same now!

I'll go toblerone, but I only eat one triangle at a time - gets stuck in me teeth!

Ahhh such difficult choice...smarties went a bit rubbish when they took the e numbers out so the colours dulled down and they got rid of the blue...but i understand they have brought blue back in and the colours are bright again now, although still with no E numbers?!

And toblerone is just oh so yummy....

Right, toblerone it is, i've decided! :)

    Keeper of the hens

Ipod - you can travel with them in your pocket for long rides in the car, walks etc etc

    - you can put hundreds of songs on them

    - they can be plugged into speakers so can be used as a CD player with every song you like on one CD!

    - Oh and you can put films, photos and get the internet on the newer ones, i think - i don't know i have one of the big ones that first came out, it's like a brick but i love it! :P

Oooh drawback to the ipod though: they weren't designed to last more than a few years, whereas I suppose CD players can last for decades. My ipod's doing okay though, it's about 6 years old...

If we're being specific, a Cox's Orange Pippin. Or a Braeburn - as long as it's fresh. And English.

Um um nom nom apple, watermelon???

I love apples but I also love alcoholic watermelon. I make a fruit salad in summer the basis of which is w/melon as they are usually quite cheap even for awhole one.
I half it lengthwise, scoop out the flesh of one half with a melon baller then replace along with some booze, brandy is nice but also any of the lighter summery liqueurs.:cocktail:
I marinate that for a while then add any favourite fresh fruits of the season, strawbs, cherries, pineapple (must be fresh not tinned) green melon and orange for colour. It is so easy especially if you have visitors and its not really cooking. Throw some mint leaves over it and eat.People can help themselves, handy to make for a bbq day.:fire:

PS. dont get it mixed up with the nonalcoholic one for the kids.:drunk:

PS PS I know this isnt a recipe thread but couldnt resist as I know many of you are feeling the heat while am sitting here with the heater on!

We drill a hole in the top of a watermelon (or just use a screwdriver, or such) and then add vodka. Leave until the water has soaked into the flesh, and then keep topping it up for a few days or so. It's a very nommy way to get tipsy :D

I like the proper decent sized watermelons you can get from fruit and veg stores. Much better than the ones the size of bowling balls that supermarkets sell.
