Cilantro. And liver - although not a prob since I don't eat anything that HAD a liver... And dishes with a lot of ingredients and finely chopped whatevers ~ like the kind of thing you get at New Age potlucks. Basically, anything with the texture of vomit.

There are sooooo many foods I don't like I could use up the whole thread listing them all. Several have been mentioned already. I don't even like the smell of peppers, hate cheese, don't like mayonnaise, fish - yuk, can't stand food smothered in any kind of posh sauce (red and brown sauce are OK though! ;) )

Red's Baked Bean De-Sensitization Program (Programme), Phase One:

Lyle prepares and places a bowl of baked beans at whatever distance away Red feels no fear-of-bean whatsoever.

Lyle then feeds Red her most favorite food for 2 minutes.

Lyle removes the bowl of baked beans.

Next day, Lyle places the bowl of baked beans 4 inches closer and repeats.

Procedure is repeated until Red is able to comfortably hold the bowl of baked beans.

    End of Phase One.

Cilantro is corriander to us on this side of the pond, its the leaves of the corrander particularly where as the seeds are called corriander???? I love corriander - you can't beat it to pep up a salad. I use lots of spices - just can't do the hot ones. I have to pick out anything that looks like a chilli in any type of food, I can manage a little heat in chilli or curry but not much. :-)

Not sure, must be some kind of weird gene thing - like Marmite or curling your tongue. My grandmother hated it too and one of my brothers came up with the pumice stone comparison. Mum used to cook it in a red wine sauce which the dog enjoyed very much! But I love kidneys and pate so it's not a general offal aversion.

Talking of which - anyone familiar with the Durian fruit? It has pretty much the same love/hate effect as Marmite. You either love the smell or want to vomit! No middle ground.

I've heard of it and that it absolutley stinks - so I guess I've always watched programmes where the people didn't like it as I can't remember any of them saying waht it tasted like - so I guess the smell put them off enough not to try it. :-)

I have two fave drinks depending on what mood I'm in: the first is a strong iced white coffee (unsweetened) and the other is home-made vanilla milk shake made with ice cream and a big spoon of powdered Horlicks - nom nom nom.

Favourite colour - anything from the pink/blue/purple part of the spectrum if I was pushed. This is a hard one to do because there's colours I like but would never wear (like bright yellow) and colours I would wear but not have on my walls like Cadbury purple.

I can't choose a favourite song, or even do a top 10 - again too much choice - aaaargh!

Wasn't the maine coon photo in the "Nanny North's photos" thread?

Song would be something cheesy, bouncy, and happy from the 70s or 80s like Funkytown, Feels like I'm in love, Mr Blue Sky, Build me up buttercup, old club classics - anything I can sing along to.

Drink - nothing really, I drink because I have to. Can't say there's anytyhing I really like!

Blue is probably my favourite colour, though like Volka I wouldn't wear it (apart from denim!) or paint it on my walls!

Welcome to [Julie's] Vicki's random discussion page. The random topic will change every Monday.

This week the topic is 'Are you a morning person:flying: or a night owl'?

I used to be a night owl,
    could stay up really late,
but now I like the mornings
    coz sleeping in don't rate.

I like to see the sun rise
    and hear the birdies call
    coz no more crying babies
    are screaming down the hall

I used to be a night owl
    go dancing dusk till dawn
kick up my heels, enjoy a drink
and pass out on the lawn

and now as I grow older
I still have lots of fun
    different to my young days
but still wouldn't make a nun!

Vicki will return on Wednesday. (thank heavens they all sigh!)

I found I was a morning person when getting up at 5.0am to do a couple of hours study for my Open University degree, before starting the family and self to go to school/work.
If I studied at night I soon ended with my nose snoring on my book.

Used to be a night owl. Can get up if it's light...otherwise, forget it. Now my circadian rhythms are completely shot...so I'll let you know !

I'm neither, though I find it easier to stay up late than get up early! I end up being late to bed just because I have things i want/need to do - housework, watch TV, play with the rats, surf the internet - but next morning always wish I'd gone to bed early. I feel very proud of myself if I do get up early on a weekend. My alarm is 6am in the week though, so I think I deserve a lie in.

I wish I was a morning person - it seems people become one as they get older. Is that true?

Sorry folks been a bit busy - I'll answer Volka's question and then move to this weeks topic. A woo woo is vodka, Peach schnapps, cranberry juice and lime. If I go out with the guys I used to work and we are all stopping over inthe hotel We always take all the ingredients and a cocktail shaker, an I pod, with some tunes (normally we end up with a bit of abba and we are quite happy/tipsy by the time we've got ready. They are very morish and don't taste very alcoholic. Excellent night out guaranteed.

I don't watch X factor, but even I've heard of them! Never heard them sing, but I don't think much of the others on there that I have heard. I'm fed up of Simon complaining about them, after all it was the judges that put them through to the pre-final-selection round! He's moaning just to get more people to watch - I wonder how much of every phone call goes directly into Simon Cowell's pocket?!!

They should be hung up by their thumbs until they learn to sing. Or at least until they stop being such odious liitle toads.
I wish they'd come to me for singing lessons...:_oh_really:

I'm just wating for one of the audience at the live shows to shoot them on live TV - well we can all hope can't we. As you may have gathered I'm firmly in the against camp. I bet Loui feels really bad now that the good people are getting sent home just because those two idiots are being voted for. Sorry to anyone that votes for them.

Louie looks really embarrassed about it all! Serves him right though - at the start of this year's 'events' he said something about how he had no chance of winning because he'd been given the groups again for the 4th time. Ooo sour grapes!

Oooh, changing my verdict. Family was round tonight and as they are all X Factor fans we had to watch it. Those twins were hilarious, real good comedy value. Sang Ghostbusters and man they put on a good show!

Must admit having never seen them before I don't know how their acts usually are, and no they're not exactly the best singers in the world, but I did think they were funny and enjoy their performance :)

Surely a crocodile and a shark would never meet? Isn't one freshwater and the other saltwater?! But in the spirit of the question, I think the winner would be the one who was in their own habitat - shallow water the croc wins, deep water I'd bet on the shark.

We have had sharks swim up estuaries into rivers here in Oz, cheeky things, they do sometimes pop up where you wouldn't expect them to.

Saltwater crocs here grow to 6 - 10ft or 1.8 - 3 metres but can grow to 6 or 7 metres in the wild.:frog2: The males especially are quite aggressive and kill on average 2 people a year in Northern Oz.

The great white shark grows approx 6.6 metres (21ft) but has been measured at 26ft.:fish:

If I met either one in it's natural habitat I would be more scared of a croc as it would be much more likely to attack a person.

I have no desire to meet either and would agree with Trevs Mum.
I lived in Kenya and you learn a healthy respect for crocs / alligators etc...out there too.
Used to see the sharks in Kilindini Harbour, Mombasa but they somehow appeared less fearsome.
