What a nice video of the chicks to date. Though what were you thinking of with putting "learn to fly" in there? They're chickens! They'll do extended jumping and breaking falls at best. Nice to see them in colour for a change as well. The "chipmunk" stripes are so cute on them. And seeing them preen when they've nothing to preen. Oh, and seeing them sit in the food bowl, eat and sleep.

Chickens fly their best when they're young like this - they can actually fly!! Once they have their flight feathers, but still have a light chick body, they can do some pretty good flying stunts. Luca once flew from my arms when i was knelt down with her when she was a few weeks old, flew round the garden and landed on the chicken coop, which is about 5ft high

Milly can fly about 5 / 6ft, but she can't keep it up for very long, bless 'er! :P

Yes, our chickens flew up to the fence (about 4ft high) and would wander up and down on it. Sometimes they'd then wander off for fresh grass and weeds to eat. Sometimes they'd just wander along the fence. Chickens do enjoy their perching.

I really enjoyed watching the movie of the babies, Neil did a great job editing it.

I have a rooster that moved in here with us, he flies up 30 feet into a Douglas Fir tree every night to roost. He doesn't want to go into the hen house because of our other rooster, that is in there already.

I enjoyed the film too - great to see the differences in colouring between the 5 of them.

Our family enjoyed the video of the chicks. Great production ! We noticed that some chicks are darker than others. Could the lighter ones be a different sex from the darker ones, maybe ?
