    Keeper of the hens

Oooh, exciting! So as of so far none of the eggs had hatched?

I was far too late with my observations. According to the Perigrine Diary it all happened in the night - two of them and another later! There's some lovely videos on there.

Not seen the chicks today yet, guess the other wont be too long, though the last egg was laid a bit later than the others I seem to remember.

Yes, there was a late one last year wasn't there. It's lovely that they're still coming back to the same place. I wonder if their offspring nest nearby at all?

Last year's chicks were ringed, so in time we may find out where they are.

Oh dear. I wonder if that's because they're only able to find enough food for 3, or do the observers think it's refusing?

One was laid on the floor dormant while the others fed. I have watched many feeds but they are so fluffy it's difficult to make out. I still see only three litle heads at feed times.
The Diary says they have four healthy chicks.

There is footage on the diary of Dad feeding Mum!!!

That's great news Ollie! I had put off looking in case one chick was left out on its own to die, but I will go have a look now!

The chicks are growing so fast!
Dark feathers are beginning to appear.

Today they're all spread-eagled (!) trying to keep cool, it'll be better when there's more shade.

Friday was ringing day. Read the diary at the top of their page.

    http://www.derby.gov.uk/apps/peregrines/webcam2.asp

Had to laugh at one of the pics - One chick saying to another "Hey, just look at this bling!"

The chicks are much bigger than I thought, quite a handful, or even two,for the handler.

Thanks so much Ollie for that link, lovely to see our babies growing and the new addition of sound as well.
