This topicis good for the soul.

My best thing today is the return from a five day walk-about by our brown Burmese cat. (Name Brown).
He did this once before. He wouldn't say where he had been.

My daughter Melanie is getting married in October. After work, we went to pick out linens for the reception. We weren't really sure what we wanted, but the woman that helped us was wonderful and helped us put everything together. We can finally start to envision what it's going to look like. It's getting very exciting!

    Keeper of the hens

Me & Mum went for a walk and saw the little calves in the field and smelt a flower that smelled of marshmellows and chocolate. It wasn't honeysuckle though, it was t'other one...can't remember the name now :P And Daisy is starting to honk, too.

    Saturday's best thing:-
A little surprise visit from my 10yr old grand daughter with her friend.
They came in and beelined for the freezer. Had ice cream with dark choccy biscuits. Then friend was taken for a conducted tour of my home and garden.
I felt really good that grand daughter feels proud enough of my home to do this.

Dusting is what my Mum... Oh, she didn't.. errr, my Gran... she didn't either - in fact there hangs a tale..
My Mum as a teenager, brought home a new boyfriend and showed him into the best room, the "parlour".
He slowly looked round this aspidestra type room and slowly turned quite green, made his excuses and disappeared from any further contact.
Mum went back into the room to look around to see what had had this strange effect.
Then she saw that it was very, very, thick with dust!
So not dusting seems to be genetic in my family.

Shopping for a plastic garden rake and some green garden velcro tape I used last year -
None at the new nursery, none at the posh expensive garden center.
Then DID find a rake in the cut price hardware shop but no tape.
I can cut my hedges now and clear up more easily, Privit leaves are dreadful to get off the paving stones.

Ok er the worst thing that happened to me today was seeing jemima getting chased up a tree in my front garden by a wacko dog and then getting pecked by a magpie as she was wedged inbetween 2 branches shaped as a Y awwww and when my dad got the ladder and pulled her down , she legged it into the bushes and went right into the middle so I had to crawl right into this holly spiky bush thing and grab her and she jumped out of my arms and ran as fast as she could into the house with a poofy tail. Aww shes now traumatised and just sitting on the stairs.

Poor Jemima - its hard being a cat!

I went with Rachael while she got a tattoo. We had to wait over 2 hours before she finally got in the chair, it took 10 mins to do (just had Caitlyn's name and a few stars) and Caitlyn was an angel the WHOLE time! She never cried and got everyone else waiting cooing and aahing over her. Then we all went to my in-laws and she was good as gold again!

My best days are all looking to be the same. I need to get out more!

Did Rachel cry, though?! The tattooist who did mine said that women always went through with it, and the only 3 he had that bottled it were all men. And a lot of the men book the tattoo, then go and get tiddly before they actually get in the chair. Wimps...:)

She had 'Caitlyn' and 5 tiny pink stars at the base of her neck/top of her back area. She thought a t-shirt would hide it but none of them do. They went to her mom's for lunch today but she was too scared to tell her about it. Hey, at least she can't throw her out for it - she did that one already. (Sorry, little sarcasm there!)

Sorry to hear the next few days will be so busy - we hope hencam can help relieve some of your stress (but don't spend too long in the forum at the expense of revision - you'll be missed though!)

It wasn't too bad. He just thought he was being clever by bragging about duffing his older brother up (which i don't believe for a second anyway),so i thought i'd tone it down a bit. Boys will be boys :-\

I spent all day trying to disprove some official figures, only to find out that my colleagues in Birmingham had given me duff information and the official figures were right! To get a positive from a negative it means I don't have to labouriously check the data each month - it can be trusted!

My best of today - taking grand daughter to GP (a dear friend)
to show a large mole on her chest that she is so self counscious of that she covers it with a sticking plaster.
He gave her choice of two ways of removal, then at her enquiry was assured that local anaesthetic would be used...

Incidently, her Mum has a similar one that she has had done before and is back. We asked for the two to be done together but bossy receptionist said that was 'impossible'. How ever she couldn't give me any reason, so we are speaking with the appointment sec in the morning.

It was good 'cos GP was delightful and spoke about this surgery as a trivia.
(To her this may not seem trivia as she has not had anything done before)

He put her at ease and assured her that all would be well. He described what it would look like once all over too. Not something I would have expected, as a 10 year old could imagine it gone without trace!
And good that she knows it will be pain free surgery.

I can tell you I have been dreading this visit all week. So it was good for me too.

Apart from that I have had a pretty rotten day - no energy, had to keep resting every 50 yards when walking in town and a good long sit down once home. Still sitting.....

Still morning here so, so far, my best thing was standing with my elbows resting on the window sill with Maya, on the sill, pressed against my left side and Martin pressed against my right - while we all gazed out the window and across the lawn at a number of wonderful birds happily feeding at the feeders. And while hummingbirds zipped back and forth to the hummingbird feeder hanging in the honeysuckle vine just to the right of us. Then one came and perched on the edge of the window box right below us, to inspect two bright spots that turned out to be two little red beads on a wooden decoration. We all stared into each other's eyes and Maya pressed her head against my shoulder.

I wonder if the two cats where having the same loving thoughts about the birds that I was...

Not exactly the same loving thoughts - was Maya licking her lips at that point?!

Had a phone call this morning to say I'm right and the officials are wrong. They've got to change them!!! Had a play with Patrick but she seems tired tonight and wasn't really that interested. Still sounds awful. Found out that the stupid vet has her dosage wrong - it should be 3 times what it is according to several rat owning experts.

Oh no - it wasn't the vet that changed the dosage? What IS IT with these vets? There must be more than just a few people who have rats & mice as pets.

No, Maya wasn't licking her lips. She doesn't have any. Hmmm. She DID drool though. Do you think that meant anything?

It didn't happen to me but made my day, I was watching QVC the shopping channel and the presenter Pipa had just returned from holiday in Turkey with her family.
When they landed at Heathrow and switched their mobiles on, they were inundated with calls and texts, last August some one stole their black labrador pup from their garden and despite having it chipped they never found it.
Well last week at Battersea Dogs home a labrador came in and when it was scanned it showed up Pipa's details, and they had been trying to contact her every since, she said it was the most wonderful thing to ever happen, they got the dog back it was in good health, and her two young kids were so excited, and amazingly she said the dog remembered her, and they still haven't unpacked from their hols, they're too busy taking the dog out for long walks etc.,
    I love a happy ending!

Best of the day - Valentino Rossi's helmet at the race! I was hooting like mad, glad the neighbours were out.
He'd put a picture of his face, with a huge surprised look, on the top of his helmet. When his head was down over his little windscreen he seemed to be learing at everybody.
It must have scared the pants off the others as he won!!!

I saw that Ollie - it was great!!! Danny, Rachael and Caitlyn came for dinner (so that Danny could watch the GP race - GO ROSSI!!) Caitlyn was in such a good mood!! They've found her tickling spot now and she giggles like MAD! She was lovely the whole time, especially for her Grandad which made him happy too. I took some more photos so will try and remember to upload them this week.
