    My best of the day..
Found mashed banana and 'Nutella' sarnis.

I reasearched the food values etc and as I am on a GL diet found it all good, in moderation!

Yumm Yumm and more to come!

(The 'Nutella' I used is a supermarket look alike, has less fat and salt.)

Danny and Rach have had 2 additions to their family - kittens Timmy and Cosmo. 2 black and white boys. They're very skinny (the kittens, not the humans!) and their fur is very dull, but they'll soon perk up I'm sure.

Did you have a good holiday Ace? When we went to Spain my friend lived off a weird flavour of Pringles because they don't sell them over here...

Best for the day - buying loads of food at this week's shopping and finding it only comes to £12:69...oh, and finding some weird potato and 'meat' bake things i could eat too, and they were extremely yummy :hungry:

(is it sad that my best things revolve around food?! :D )

Wow Diane that's freaky!!! I'll have to tell Rachael.
Originally they were getting 2 white kittens from the RSPCA - a brother and sister - and were going to call them Leela and Fry, but the stupid cattery messed up and cancelled their reservation and gave them to someone else. These 2 are very skinny and need feeding up (not quite to watermelon proportions though Jonny, so I'm not allowed to feed them, being the owner of a fat cat myself!) She was going to have a tabby but had a dream the night before that an evil little man turned himself into a tabby kitty and took her to a graveyard, so she was scared it'd come true!

I now have a cold wash setting. Will give it a go, it'll be quicker too than waiting for the machine to warm up the water. I noticed all the new machines are cold fill only. Yet my gas water heater was much cheaper to run on the hot/cold fill machines.

Was out in the garden and one of the chickens took a shine to her wellies and was chasing her round the garden trying to peck them! I know I shouldn't have laughed but it was really funny and completely my fault as all the chucks are obsessed with my pink spotty wellies and peck them and i just laugh at them!

Sorry, Sneyd is the village pub - named after the Sneyd family who used to live at Keele Hall, and it's Lady Sneyd who haunts the grounds ;)

    Breakfast, dinner, and tea!

People here say lots of different things, and we get laughed at for practically everything we say (there are a couple of others from Yorkshire, and we stick up for each other!) There's Breakfast, lunch and tea; and breakfast, lunch and supper...

Ollie I think you just clarified the confusion I have felt about the English definitions for 'tea.' It sounds like it means four things; three of which are only slightly different times/manners of consumption and the fourth being the leafy little consumable itself.

My best thing today: I decided last week to see if I could trace my family tree but just casually, not much effort. I thought I'd found a relative of my mom (who I haven't spoken to for 25 years!) and mailed him. He answered, I replied and then .... nothing.

BUT - today he mailed me 3 times!! He is my mother's half-brother (so my half-uncle if there is such a thing). They have the same father. Seems there is some scandal to get to the bottom of as they knew nothing about my mom. I'm really pleased!

Best thing today was going to the cat show at the NEC (a local BIG exhibition place). Loads of beautiful cats - especially the Maine Coons, Norweigen Forest cat and Bengals. Took Rachael and Caitlyn - she was so good all day!

What about Caitlyn...was she good? :rolling: Did you pinch a Maine Coon? I love those...
Ooo, Acie; I can't bear steaming - I always think I'm going to suffocate! You're brave...

I don't like steaming either! My son and his girlfriend's dad are going to the motorshow Ace - if it were me I'd get them to make one of those "we have a lost person ...." announcements so that you had to come meet me!!

LOL!! I thought Caitlyn would be really bored and moaning but she didn't. Me and Rach were shattered!!!! Next cat I have will be a Maine Coon - just can't decide what colour. Probably tabby and white - they always look very handsome!

Best thing: the E Block lads did us proud in the footy competition, even if we didn't win...well done guys :hurray: Oh! And us spectators were the loudest supporters there which our team was quite proud of

LOL I thought this referred to some interesting British behavior - the pinching of anything/anyone you happen to like. Then I realized you were probably asking her if she brought one home. Yah?

Oh oh, 2nd best thing = my radiator was broken, and one of the little green men fixed it for me :hurray: I'm actually gonna go find him and say thank you, it's made such a difference having a warm toasty room :)

I LOVE that name. Kate, isn't it time for a Maine Coon to take up residence in your domicile? "Here kitty, kitty...Oooo Pete, looked who followed me home!"

Best thing about today has to be the walk to campus...it's a mile walk, and the sun was just rising in the sky and there was frost everywhere. Combined with birds cheeping and your breath coming out in puffs of smoke, it was beautiful! Made you feel glad to be alive :)

I didn't have my camera with me at the time, but i ran back after my lecture, grabbed it, and then ran up to the church so shall post some frosty pics in the photo thread

Best thing: it snowed (for about 3 seconds :P ) and they were real big flakes that settled in an instant because the ground is so dry and frozen...if only it snowed for longer i could not hand my essay in because i was 'snowed in' at Hawthorns :D
