Ollie - I think I wish I had your hair. It sounds cool. Mine is straight and then curly in all the wrong places...

My best thing today was walking Holly down at the Marina. She is such a joyful little dog. And getting another picture of Lady Langley - looking precisely as she did last week.

Best thing today for me was also dog-related - my friend's dog had puppies 6 weeks ago and she sent me some photos of them. She's keeping one - it is off the cuteness scale!!!! They're tibetan terriers.

Spiders here don't come in humungous sizes, it's just that these two had impressively big and well marked bodies. One was guarding three egg cases!
Put them all in the garden rubish bin and hope they stay there ready for their relocation.

I didn't like the just silver ones they showed me. The designs somehow weren't 'pleasing', even though one was very like a favourite spoon I have at home. Snag with the mother of pearl is that it won't engrave and there isn't room on the handle.

Ollie, you could always have it drilled on the handle and a little disc attached (like the ones cats have on their collars) by a jump ring (also in silver) which could be engraved. Not practical for a spoon - but I don't suppose it'd ever get used, just cherished! Actually, it wouldn't need to be drilled as they could solder the jump ring to the existing silver.

A bit late though for the first one the Christening is on Sunday and the jeweller send engraving out, so no time.

Thursday's Best = The last "mini water polo" session at our local swim place before it is replaced with another sports center with less.....

An amazing session. They played races with the pool toys. Lots of shouting and falling ins of people who shouldn't.
Ended with a relay race up and back all three pools with lots and lots of cheating... being given a tow (by the boss!) and other stuff.
    Real good clean (!) fun.

    Friday - Started off wierd.
I was blowing up tyres when a man came and took over the air line. I thought he was going to blow his own tyres with my, paid for, air!
It took him a little while to explain he was an employee.
So when we got to the last tyre I asked his advise on putting the car through the carwash machine. I've never used one as hubby said they ripped your wipers and airiels off.
I was duly instructed and I had my first experience of this great machine.
Oh yes, I did remember to wind up the window!

I never got any tremendous marks in anything. I seemed to be in the middle of the upper half for some things and lower down in others - if you get my drift.

Now this is the VERY FIRST time another parent has taken over MY care in the years I have taken THEIR children spontaneously, for the day.

Friday Best. Part two:- Airline for Sunday's flight tell us our seats are not available! (Booked and paid for in January.) These are leg room seats for folks who are well over the six foot mark....

Loads of phone calls to brick walls, at 10p a min, eventually produced a compromise.
Three leg room seats, which for me at 5'3" is not an essential. When they see me, old and wide, will realise the booboo they have made as I would be expected to 'help' if the plane needed evacuation.....

No forks allowed. I might use it to harm a crew member and gain control of the plane - it says something like this in the regulations. Plasic forks don't have quite the same effect. Just what would I do with a plane?
Anyway it is a cheap airline and food has to be ordered and paid for on booking. It doesn't stop them from bringing round a trolley full of food at gold plated prices.

Saturday's Best - Well my life is full of glitches!!!
Trying to book a hire car for the holiday. It took ages and some odd wordings in the agreement. Eventually got one but it is in my name as I have a bank card so other driver is not on it -yet. Hope we can put him on, I've never driven on the wrong side.
And I cop for the bill, don't I?

Oh yes, there was a time in Holland on a pedal bike, I pushed it over the pedestrian crossing as I hadn't the courage to turn the wrong way. A very vocal m/cle policeman came up to me shouting with his helmet on in his language. I said I couldn't understand which got him to remove helmet and swore at me in English! I said again I coudn't understand and he moderated his tone and explained I was not allowed to take a bike over a pedestrian crossing.

I've just been Foggy-ed! And the rats actually gave me some attention this morning before and after their cage was cleaned out.

I'm going to get a bed settee for the room (it is meant to be the spare room after all!) and then I'll be able to sit in there in comfort and get them to play on it with me. I think they're scared to be on the floor since Emmett chased Patrick a couple of weeks ago. Can't blame them really!

So you have moved to that phase (well, probably been there awhile) where you are furnishing your home based on your animals, eh Kate?

We went to look for a new suite for the living room about 6 months ago. Hubby wanted a leather one but I said no, it'd be cold in winter and sticky in summer. What I really meant was, Foggy likes to rub her claws on the current one and if she did that on leather he'd kill her!! Therefore, no new furniture!

Poor Vicki. It has dragged on a bit so perhaps you need a little medication to shift it.

    How's your grandad?

To be honest kate , im not so sure how my grandad is. Ive not been allowed to see him for 3 weeks because im ill and hes been ill because he fell of a ladder and damaged his immune system and then when he did damage it it made a blood clot thing which traveled to his leg and so he had thrombosis for about 2 months and he wasnt getting any better and now hes having scans and hes on drips and stuff. And if he catches a virus then it gets serious

    Yes, love to you both.
My best thing; I carved three numbers today on Trouble's gravestone. Two of them were 0's, which are 'orrible to carve. Any future pets who shuffle of this mortal coil will be deep frozen until a year with no 0s in...

No, I'm at school from 9:30 to 5:30, leaving Eric at home with the (other) animals, and come home each night to my own - cheap!! - bed...
Finished the dates on the stone today, and did the cat's head. Whoop! No more noughts or eights to carve...whoop!

Well, it's more like drawing; it's the outline of a fat cat. So I chase round it with the chisel. If Wazza ever reappears after it's done and in situ I'll ask him if he'll take a pic for me.

    This week -:
I am in Potugal with family and pool and large garden so far away from the next villa that we have no need to keep asking the girls to make less noise.
I have my trusty lap top here and have been watching you all up to the dozy stuff henammers do all the time.
Really enjoying slobbing around the pool and soaking up the sun, though I notice that home has decent weather too.
I love hearing the cicadas in the trees. Got the chance to examine one close up this morning. The have big bug eyes.

I'm enjoying my holiday too...except I'm abslootly knackered, my hair is so full of stone dust that I look like all the Jackson Five in one (look it up, children) and I think I have a blister starting on me chisel hand. On the plus side, I finished the cat and the E and the L. And I saw the most beautiful blue dragon fly play around me for ages this afternoon!
    Ollie: SUNSCREEN!
