best: only had one dog to walk today so me and the pups got to catch up on sleep after a late night due to having a friend over. Still haven't walked Kasper or Zoey yet (they have been asleep ALL day!) so will have to get them out pretty soon

Lyle had his physio appt today. The Dr found exactly where Lyle's leg hurt, and has given Lyle exercises to do. He also said there may be something a little off with the arch of his foot so he might have to get an insole to go inside his shoe which could help. Lyle also has a 3 month window where he can go back if his leg is still causing him agony. Lyle was very happy with his appt, here's hoping it helps

We're both really hoping it will help...apparently the man doing physio said Lyle had the flexibility of an 80 year old man in his left leg! :gasp:

Kate, he didn't have physio before we were referred to the hospital, but he did see a muscle specialist so I don't see why he couldn't identify the problem.

It's very strange that Lyle has had to go through all that - the physio should've done a better job at the start and prevented an unnecessary referral to hospital. Perhaps the GP should've ordered a proper scan so that the physio knew what he was dealing with. He didn't need to see a consultant for that.

My "best of the month" really.
Grand daughter Georgie had her bike stolen, quickly recovered by her gang of circling m/cycle pals. It was only a little damaged. She repaired it and promptly sold it for more than she'd paid for it when new, six months ago.
Then buys a second hand bike and some cash over...

    Hi pinkroses!

You can click 'NEW POSTS' at the very top of the screen and it should bring up only the most recent posts that you haven't read...although as you are a newbie it might bring up everything as you haven't read it all?! But the ones at the very top should be the most recent

Jenson brought a mouse to the door tonight, but I think it was one Kitten brought back last night. I thought I'd saved it from her as I chased her off and then I couldn't find it anywhere, but it was a similar size and type. They never bring the classic grey mouse, it's always a little brown type and they are very sweet. I'm assuming they're coming out of hibernation now and the cats are finding them fairly easily in the woods or down by the river.

Got it wrong; THREE more and he's done. He's completely knackered and sleeps more than an old cat. His neck is burnt and his throat full of muck. He has to feed through a PEG tube, not orally as his throat is too sore to swallow anything other than water. BUT the thought of finishing RT is keeping him buoyant now.

He's managing 6 feeds a day now. I'm trying to make him keep drinking (sipping) water but it makes him splutter. We need to persist though because he could lose his swallow reflex else. Hopefully once the burning/swelling subsides he'll be able to swallow things like rice pud and so on. Fingers crossed!

Hope you're both feeling a little better CC. Crossing my fingers! :)

best: seeing how excited Kasper got about some skanky old toys from the toy box! He rarely gets to play with toys now, apart from puzzle feeders (as he will resource guard them from Zoey), but she was in her crate today so he got to have a play and LOVED it! I mean really, really enjoyed himself. It made me so happy to see, we'll have to do it more often!

(of course the brand new Birthday toy we bought him was totally ignored... :rolling: )

Went to see my brother and his family today. Great to see them all! My brother gave me some photos of me as a child (I didn't have any previously - he'd got them from our mom). Some of the haircuts are horrendous!

One bonus of curly hair is that there is essentially only one style, with long or short variations, so I'm saved that embarrassment! Although there does exist one appalling school pic where Matron tried to impose a side parting...:scared:

Mine have the proverbial 'bowl' cut. One of them looks like the bowl slipped back on my head at an inopportune moment - my fringe is worthy of Jim Carrey's character in Dumb & Dumber!!

best: we discovered a new path with one of the dogs we walk today. She's always seemed a little bored before on our walks, and really only focuses on the treats. Today we took her to the fields, and she LOVED it! She was sniffing around, walking ahead, and only remembered I even had treats once!

We discovered another path too, which we'll be checking out next time we walk her. Hopefully by alternating which walks we do we can have her really having fun on her walkies!

The room went down really well ... but it took ages to get them to go to sleep! The new TV I bought (Logik brand - Curry's own) has broken after just 3 hours of use. It will be returned tomorrow and a full refund demanded, after they have got the DVD out of it that is now stuck because it has no power.

    Thanks guys :)

The move went *really* well. Because I was out walking dogs I managed to get out of having to shift any of the heavy furniture (yahoo!), by the time I got back there were only bags to carry out to the van. Both dogs were great whilst the furniture was being taken out of the house, they were both very quiet and Zoey didn't even get stressed when furniture was being removed from the same room she was in!

We walked the dogs across to the new house separately. Zoey was really stressed when it was just me and her at the house, but as soon as Kasper arrived she settled down and played happily...it's crazy how much she loves her brother, I'm not sure Kasper feels the same way!! :P

The new house is awesome and the location is great. Both dogs are fully settled in now and, best of all, Zoey hasn't made a single peep in her crate at night!! She's settled down in her crate and gone to sleep right away every bed time, I am so impressed with her

I've just taken all the pics off my camera so I'll post them in the other thread ;)

I'm glad it went well - maybe she feels more comfortable there so will sleep better. With children you can often find a house-move will solve sleep problems, but its a complicated way to get a good night's sleep!

best: we have found that leaving our bedroom window open all day makes it nice and cool for the night time (we can't have it open at night as noises spook Kasper). Seriously, our new house is like an oven and the bedroom is the hottest room by far...anything that makes it cooler is fine by me! :tooth:

Huzzah!

Red, couldn't you move Kasper downstairs at night in his kennel, so you could open the windows, he'd get use to it in time and you wouldn't have to die up there with a heat stroke. :face-smile:

We could do....but we'd miss him!!! :tooth: I can't imagine not having him with us, it wouldn't feel right not having a big furry lump lying next to me!! I'm thinking about trying to desensitise him to having the window open though, maybe have it open the tiniest crack the first few nights and gradually open it a little more...it all depends on if there are noises or not, the other morning the window was open and Kasper was sleeping through our next door neighbour's talking in their garden. Then Zoey started whining because she could hear them, and that set Kasper off doing his pre-bark huffing...Zoey does that to poor old Kasper so much, bless him.

Kasper once woke us up at 5am because (get ready for it)...there was a fly in the room :glare:

Me and Lyle were sooo not impressed, but he was having great fun leaping on the bed and up at the walls trying to catch it :rolling:
