I'll be both where I am now, and at the Birmingham office (which I'm not looking forward to). Haven't started yet but suspect I'll be picking bits up through the next month. Most difficult task will be finding someone to take over the other stuff I do!

It works out to about £5 more per week, but I'm told I should be "glad of the opportunity". Looks like they're not replacing me, in fact it seems like they're taking it as an 'opportunity' to dismantle the team.

£5 a week? Will it change your life? Porsche or Maserati? They're blooming lucky to have you at all, Kate. They're such cynical gits, aren't they?

The first "Best" is having Red back on Hencam complete with chickens too!
Second is my grand daughter has fought off her fear of riding motor bikes on the road after her accident and passed the required driving test with no faults. Then bought herself a 600cc motor bike!

Oh well done...can't remember her name, Ollie, sorry! She'll be fine as long as she looks out for idiot motorists - the first time I was knocked off my motorbike was the last - I was extremely wary of motorists after that. Congratulations to her... :flowers:

She had her first "off" on this bike, misjudged a grassy corner. The bike hit the grass, she hit the road...
No serious damage to either of them.
Yesterday thoroughly enjoyed 250 miles to stay with boyfriend a few days.

    Keeper of the hens

My best: So within the last few weeks, me and Lyle have been rocking life!

That sounds weird, but for 18 months I couldn't go anywhere. I didn't leave the village, I couldn't travel, I couldn't even go in shops. If I tried, I would have back-to-back seizures.

But we found ways to manage my seizures ourselves (because y'know the NHS isn't going to help!); CBD oil has taken my seizures down from 30 a day to 15, polarized lenses mean I am able to go on buses / trains and into shops - I still have seizures, but they're manageable and don't leave me messed up for hours. A wide brimmed hat is also hugely helpful. If I need to sit or lie down whilst out to recover, I will.

It's only been the past month we've been able to have a life, and we're really enjoying it. We've seen friends we haven't seen in 5 years, taken the train places with Kasper, visited Lyle's parents. We've found new hobbies that I can do with seizures (seeing as I'm basically unable to enjoy reading or video games anymore), and every single day I'm getting more and more confident with my seizures.

Used to be we'd have our friend round to our house, and every time I had a seizure I'd ask Lyle to cover me with a blanket because I found it so embarrassing...yesterday I had seizures on a beach and some cliff tops in front of dozens of people. I chatted to a stranger about my goggles and my seizures. I had seizures in a pub in front of our friend's mum who I'd never met before. I wasn't ashamed at all.

I come out of seizure fog / clusters smiling (most times!) and me and Lyle have never been more in love. I am so grateful to have him in my life, and we help each other with every single thing. I don't feel like I'm a burden to him anymore, but at the same time I'm so thankful for how much he does for me and the effort he puts into keeping me safe.

So, that's my best. Life is full of shit, but we are really happy and we're managing it the best we ever could

(pic is me having a seizure yesterday, what a view! And second pic, having recovered afterwards I'm ready to go again (: )

    Keeper of the hens

Ah thank you guys  Life has taken an upwards turn, and we're fighting hard to keep things good! Yes CC I have a blog aimed at MH / 'spoonie' stuff...basically covering everything to do with my illnesses and life, and also trying (- usually failing!) at helping others/offering advice :P

Got a cracking wallop to my head yesterday in a seizure tumble...least it'll be gone by my birthday, I'm just getting it out the way????

    Keeper of the hens

Best: getting a chair in time for Lyle's birthday!!! Now I know whatever we choose to do I should be able to enjoy it and not drag him down :cheerleader:

I've been getting creative with gifts as we have no money to spare, at all. I'm going to make DIY ice lollies (he loves ice lollies).

So far I've got: frozen smoothie lollie, mohito (with real bits of mint leaf!), ginger beer, fruit mix with sweets mixed in  He already knows about this, because obviously I can't shop on my own, but he'll still enjoy it ;)

Can anybody think of other DIY things I could do?! He loves food, but I can't cook/bake as it requires too much time upright...anything super quick or easy I could try?! I have until 23rd May, please help as he deserves something as special as possible

I love the scrapbook idea...I'd worry I'd be terrible at setting it up though!! Omb CC, I've not written anything in so long but guess I could try bash out a poem!!

Best: took my wheelchair out to Tesco this evening! I haven't been able to go since last autumn as it's 15 minutes further than the other shops. Had a great time out and was able to buy all the stuff in for Lyle's birthday lollies

Also the difference in my HR was quite amazing!!

Thank you everybody!!! Another advantage of a chair - today I'm in a lot of pain that would normally have me in bed all day, but thanks to my wheelchair we can get out for a little while despite this. It's a glorious day so Lyle can push me about this evening & we get to see a bit of the world!

Best: I have a few busy days coming up, which is always concerning when I'm doing so badly haha. BUT on Saturday my parents are coming up; we're meeting them at the pub for a meal (lazy sods decided they couldn't handle the 15min walk :rolling:) them dropping Finley at home & going to a farm show. I've been excited about this show for ages ^_^

And on Sunday a friends arriving late at night then staying with us until Tuesday...we're hoping on Monday I'll be up to going round a few museums, but other than that we'll just be chilling at home playing games (:
