I'll be both where I am now, and at the Birmingham office (which I'm not looking forward to). Haven't started yet but suspect I'll be picking bits up through the next month. Most difficult task will be finding someone to take over the other stuff I do!

I expect they'll need three people to replace you - that's what often happens! Makes them appreciate you more - we hope!

Wow, Kate..I hope they won't take advantage of you on this new job, sounds like a lot of work. Do you get paid more???:face-smile:

It works out to about £5 more per week, but I'm told I should be "glad of the opportunity". Looks like they're not replacing me, in fact it seems like they're taking it as an 'opportunity' to dismantle the team.

£5 a week? Will it change your life? Porsche or Maserati? They're blooming lucky to have you at all, Kate. They're such cynical gits, aren't they?

The first "Best" is having Red back on Hencam complete with chickens too!
Second is my grand daughter has fought off her fear of riding motor bikes on the road after her accident and passed the required driving test with no faults. Then bought herself a 600cc motor bike!

That's great news Ollie! Don't hear about many ladies on motorbikes, so she's keeping the female end up for us!,

Oh well done...can't remember her name, Ollie, sorry! She'll be fine as long as she looks out for idiot motorists - the first time I was knocked off my motorbike was the last - I was extremely wary of motorists after that. Congratulations to her... :flowers:

She had her first "off" on this bike, misjudged a grassy corner. The bike hit the grass, she hit the road...
No serious damage to either of them.
Yesterday thoroughly enjoyed 250 miles to stay with boyfriend a few days.

    Keeper of the hens

My best: So within the last few weeks, me and Lyle have been rocking life!

That sounds weird, but for 18 months I couldn't go anywhere. I didn't leave the village, I couldn't travel, I couldn't even go in shops. If I tried, I would have back-to-back seizures.

But we found ways to manage my seizures ourselves (because y'know the NHS isn't going to help!); CBD oil has taken my seizures down from 30 a day to 15, polarized lenses mean I am able to go on buses / trains and into shops - I still have seizures, but they're manageable and don't leave me messed up for hours. A wide brimmed hat is also hugely helpful. If I need to sit or lie down whilst out to recover, I will.

It's only been the past month we've been able to have a life, and we're really enjoying it. We've seen friends we haven't seen in 5 years, taken the train places with Kasper, visited Lyle's parents. We've found new hobbies that I can do with seizures (seeing as I'm basically unable to enjoy reading or video games anymore), and every single day I'm getting more and more confident with my seizures.

Used to be we'd have our friend round to our house, and every time I had a seizure I'd ask Lyle to cover me with a blanket because I found it so embarrassing...yesterday I had seizures on a beach and some cliff tops in front of dozens of people. I chatted to a stranger about my goggles and my seizures. I had seizures in a pub in front of our friend's mum who I'd never met before. I wasn't ashamed at all.

I come out of seizure fog / clusters smiling (most times!) and me and Lyle have never been more in love. I am so grateful to have him in my life, and we help each other with every single thing. I don't feel like I'm a burden to him anymore, but at the same time I'm so thankful for how much he does for me and the effort he puts into keeping me safe.

So, that's my best. Life is full of shit, but we are really happy and we're managing it the best we ever could

(pic is me having a seizure yesterday, what a view! And second pic, having recovered afterwards I'm ready to go again (: )

Fabulous, Red...are you sharing all this with people who have similar problems? It must be such a beacon of hope for them. You're brave, clever and funny - keep writing about this and getting it out there. I'm so glad your life is on the up at last.

What a wonderful post Red, so glad to read how happy you are! It's an old phrase but life is what we make it, and despite not having much you're doing great! Lovely view too! xx
