    Keeper of the hens

This could turn into a nightmare, but i thought it'd be quite a good idea.

Basically I thought it'd be nice to have a thread where people can post pics of their pets, themselves, places nearby where they live etc.

I know i like posting pics of the chicks dotted around the forum, and it's nice to be able to look back on them which is much easier if they're all contained in one thread. Plus it's easier for people on dial-up to have one thread to avoid instead of innocently wandering into a different thread and finding it takes half an hour to load because some goon has posted a load of chick photos in there :P

    What does everyone think?

    Keeper of the hens

I have gone photo crazy, apologies...Here are the chicks at 9 1/2 weeks old:

    Photobucket
Here is Sunny sprawled across my History revision - it's a good excuse not to revise if a chick is laying on your work, right? ;)

    Daisy boy
Here is Daisy-lou having a sunbathe - that boy is hilarious, he just melts into a heap as soon as the sun hits him! :D

    Midget
    Midget looking sleepy

    Sotty boy!
    Scotty boy leaving the kitchen

    Daisy n Milly
Daisy keeping a close eye on Milly!

    Scotty..?
    Scotty soaking up the sun

    Sunbathing!
    Three happy peepers :)

    9 1/2 weeks old
And finally all the chicks climbing together - they even climbed onto the top of the rabbit hutch roof, i have no idea why :P

    How To Post Pics!

Try reading that, Ace, and then give it a go. I used Diane's verion of the instructions (sorry Wazza!) as i found them easier - they're about halfway down the page.

I was worried about posting pics too, but after reading Diane's instructions it's easy. Give us a yell if you get stuck and i'll try to help (emphasis on the try!)

Ace, the beginning of the html should look like this: < a href =" http:

Are you using photobucket? If you are just copy the link from HTML Code underneath your picture, paste it straight here, and it should work...?

Thank you Kate - don't you think Sunny is such a poser? It's hard to get a pic where she isn't posing. Even the one where she's stood on the coop she's stood a little too perfect for it to be natural :P

CC, i thought we already had a photo thread too. There's Wazza's PHOTO Album thread but that's about it. D'you remember the one Diane started (i think) and posted loads of animal pics in? Where has that got to?

This rabbit only looked young, and was absolutely gorgeous. I wanted to bring her home but thought Domino might object :heartsabove:

And here is mum chillin' with her babies! I love the way she has one leg over them :)

It's no wonder that cat ran for its life when Milly was protecting her chicks, is it?

What did you do to provoke the Stare in the picture? I think you must've been a Very Naughty Girl, judging by her expression...

Well she was originally on the chair, asleep standing up. I thought it'd make a cute photo, so i grabbed the camera turned it on...and it BEEPED! So Milly woke up in a bad mood, and instead of getting an angelic pic of her sleeping, i got a pic of her glaring instead :D

:rolling: I wish I could bottle that last round with Ace & I and then Red bringing us back into rational perspective. Being called a banana helped bring me back to earth as well. Its a great example for my clients. But, you had to be there...

The photo looks hilarious to me now. Milly's miffed and, might I say, self righteous, expression and that hook - so out of context - floating in the background.

Thanks Lynn, although that pic isn't one of her cutest :D

    CC... :o

Diane, this quote sounds so funny: "being called a banana helped" :rolling:

    Keeper of the hens

Here are some pics that my dad was supposed to post in the blog ages ago (he's been promising to do it for the last few years, but can't remember whether he did or not :D). I'll post them here, and then add them to the blog too.

These were taken a few weeks after we got Milly. Unbeknown to us, little Milly used to fly over the neighbour's house (they live two doors down) where they would feed her oatmeal and other treats. To get there she had to cross two gardens, one with a cat and one with a dog!!

We had no idea she used to do this, and so when our neighbours showed us these pics we almost died of shock! Here she is as a baby:

    baby 3
    Guess who!

    baby 2
Look how small she was! And to think they sold her to us as a point of lay pullet :-\

    baby 8
A very round baby Milly :D

    baby 7

    baby 4
I'd be a bit wary of that end, too...

They're such fantastic pics, thank you Mary & Rob for sharing them and letting us post them on the site! :)
