My rant is that I enjoyed the French GP a lot more than ever before but as usual for F1- I can't keep awake!!!
I once snuggled up to the fence at Silverstone for a snooze during the practice and slept like a baby even though cars were blasting past at xxx mph just inches at the other side of the fence.
Wouldn't be allowed now-a-days.. = Health and Safety!!!
But I nearly always get so drowsy!
    Any ideas???

What a great image - Vikki's dad putting the house on a trailer to take to work and leaving her sat on the foundations!

I do that too Ollie - I think its the pitch of the engines and the droning. Bit like putting a baby in a car and driving it around the block to get it to sleep!

Nice to see a brit win the 125 race - shame the press completely ignored it!

Now we need to speculate if Vikki would fit in where Dad works...
He may be a driver = OK
Or a door to door sales man = my guess is she could talk folks into buying anything.
He may be the local vicar.
What if he is a lawyer or a judge????

He may be a chef and their toaster has broken so he takes one from home!

Because I was already booked to do Mrs Harding's - which I found a very difficult thing to communicate to the dweeb who rang me. Seemed to think I ought to drop everything, kept saying 'but it's for Robbie Williams' over and over again. And in 6 months time, Mrs Harding would remember my name and have me back, which RW wouldn't.
Also, she makes damn fine shortbread.

Rant, it's 4am in the morning (well, a little later now i guess) but i've been up since 4 am. Midget's beautiful call woke me up, 3:55am. I blundered down the stairs in the semi-dark and ran out to throw bread at him to shut him up. My parents always choose the best times to go away :-\

< rant > Ugh i'm so tired of trying to do the right thing but it being wrong. I built a bed for them indoors so that Midge's crowing wouldn't wake the neighbours up. They wouldn't stay in, hated it and got stressed.

Moved them back outside and now they're refusing to go to bed. And i'm gonna get woken at 4am again...and what about when there's nobody in to go down and shut him up when i go on holiday? Ugh i wish my parents were here to help...

AND Midget is going home when my parents get back, i am on holiday. I am miserable and fed up.

Thanks, Kate. You're right, Midget will only be here for another 4 / 5 days. It's stressing me to the max, i'm shattered...woken again this morning, this time at 4:20, then again at 8:30 and he's been crowing just now too...I don't mind it so much throughout the day, Elvis is flying about and the cows in the field are mooing, so it just adds to the effect...but 4am!!

Tonight i'm wrapping a dark sheet around their house and then propping some wood against it. PLEASE let him stay quiet!! Then i'm off on hols, and if Midget starts crowing whilst i'm away i think the neighbours will kill him! He'll be crowing from 4am - 9:30ish when my nana comes to feed them and let them out. Oh dear...

Poor little tyke, there he is proudly throwing his head back and crowing; and every time i yell at him to shut up or throw bread at him :D

My rant is at myself - I forgot to put the box at the rat's bedroom door. Patrick was having a little run around on the floor by her cage and (you can guess this part I bet) I didn't hear ninja cat Emmett sneak in behind me and run at the rat. Luckily Patrick saw her coming and ran between her new and old cage. I got the cat out and shut the door, tried to coax Patrick out but she just ran hell for leather back up her cage and in the top. She sat there shaking like a leaf for ages poor thing. I feel SOOOO bad about it.

LOL - you should have been checking all their hands Kate! That's the only aspect of Ace's dad that we've seen pictures of. ;)

Bless you Diane - its amazing the effect not being in focus can have!!!

He did crawl off the track (like a baby!) and was taken away by ambulance, but he walked into it so as far as racers are concerned wasn't serious.

Me and hubby go on holiday early Saturday morning and I don't want to go! I love being at home. I'll miss my kids, Caitlyn, the cats and the rats, not to mention the internet in general and hencam in particular. I also think patrick might be coming down with a chest infection again. I hate flying. All this adds up to one great big ball of stress that has taken up residence in the middle of my stomach and is making me sick, tired, and er, taking frequent visits to the loo! It also prevents me doing all the things I should be - like packing! My brain goes into 'shut down' mode and seems to believe that if I do nothing it'll all just go away.

Of course I wouldn't dream of not going. Firstly I can't afford to waste that money and secondly it wouldn't be fair on hubby who is really looking forward to it. I wish I knew a hypnotist who could make me want to go!

RANT: Donnington Park has confirmed that it will host the British F1 from 2010. Donnington Park have pledged £100 million to revamp the circuit!
I am sort of getting the idea that whoever owns Donnington Park DOESN'T care about Moto GP fans because they were saving all of their money up for F1! If they did care about Moto GP fans then the revamp would've already happened. :(

And when they revamp it for F1 it'll probably be rubbish for motorbikes! We'll need binoculars to see the track. Most of that will probably be spent on the pits. Hope they do something about the parking!

I am as disappointed as you that F1 is to be at Donnington. I loved Silverstone so much. We would spend a whole week camping there, Monday to Monday. As radio hams we ran a radio station all week from the camp site opposite the front gate to show folks what amateur radio was all about.
It's quite a while since I was at Donnington (and Silverstone) but feel it will be a BIG upgrade for the track.
Agree that sales of binnoculars may go up!!! The parking for F! has a minimum standard that is quite high comparatively.

    Keeper of the hens

Rant ~ Joe came over and seeing as it was nice we decided to cycle over to St Ives (woods with a park about 2 miles from my house) We set off and literally two minutes later the sky was grey and it was raining. That is my first rant, it waited to start raining until we had put on sun cream and set off cycling :weather_rain: :cursing:

Second rant, after we'd cycled to the park and Joe had played for a while we went to get an ice cream. He got a dairy 99 which, as i seem to remember, are supposed to cost only 99p...nope, this one was £2!! I almost keeled over in shock... :_oh:

And thirdly we went for a walk around the lake which is no cycling, but there was nowhere for us to leave our bikes! - what do they expect us to do with them??
