I've just chosen 6 dresses to order from Debenhams - I'm going to a christening on Sunday and have an interview on Monday - but couldn't remember my password so asked for a reset. When I got the reset and logged in (bearing in mind it said I didn't need to be logged in to shop) it had lost the 6 I chose and the basket was empty. Needed to order by 9pm to get next day delivery but really can't be bothered to scroll through pages and pages to find them again (they won't come up in the history-get an error). :rant_red2:

What a bind...computers are such a pain in the arse. I spent ages composing a snottagram to Bucks County Council and perfected it, pressed 'send' and it told me my session had 'timed out'. AAAARGH! They do it on purpose... Are you going to get the frocks, Kate?

Yes, they probably DO do that, to make it seem like they have less complaints. You can fool them though. Type up what you want to say in in Word document or whatever you use and then cut and paste it into the place they have for you to send issues. Make it long and flowery. :)

We were all ready to go out yesterday and we couldnt get Mickey to come in. No sign of him. He tends to go to ground if he gets scared rather than come back home. We had to ring and cancel in the end. Two hours and a bit later he came sneaking back in all fearful and looking behind him worried by something thats for sure. He didnt go out for the rest of the day even though the door was open. He hasnt been far today either. We rescheduled for today and all cats are in and the door firmly locked. Mind you he is throwing himself about the house chasing imaginary birds and mice to the point G/N is having a game with him trying to wear him out. We have already had to replace one set of Venetian blinds due to a fly having the cheek to being on the window while we were out shopping !!!

I dont know CC, he is a funny little boy very loving and playfull in the house and garden but just has to have a snout around other side of the fence every so often so it could be anything from a stranger on the foot path to another cat. He is still hanging around house today and has barely gone into the garden. Its very windy though and he is very much a nice weather only sort of cat !!! Sootz and Minnie never go over the fence as its much to high for them. Sootz rarely climbs now adays not even his beloved apple tree. He will play every so often but just prefers his home comforts. He is doing well as Maine coons usually only live till about ten years and he is twelve now. We do spoil him though well as we do all of them xx

I realised today that Kitten wass 6 years old in July. When I asked the lads to guess her age Dan said 3 and Mic said 4. Must admit, it doesn't feel like we've had her that long. Must try and work out the others ages. Will have to go back through Hencam posts as I'm pretty sure I posted when they moved in.

Rant: my POTS is being so crappy today that sitting up raises my HR by 30bpm, triggering seizures, leaving me unresponsive etc. If I stand it immediately jumps by 70, but I fall and almost pass out within a minute...I had to crawl to the loo :rolling: I'm trying to drink a ton of fluid in the hopes it helps & at some point I can cope with sitting in my wheelchair. Our friend is coming over for the first time in like a year today so I don't want to be stuck lying down... XD

Hubby has decided not to do the Mach loop. The weather has picked up immensely here - it was about 25 degrees today and he suffered in the heat, so tomorrow is meant to be hotter and he doesn't want to be sat on a mountainside with no shelter - we didn't prepare very well so haven't brought a brolly for shelter, I couldn't find my hat, he couldn't find sunglasses. I thought we could maybe buy them, but shops are few and far between here! There's no McDonalds or Burger King within an hour's drive. No carvery, no Tesco, Asda or Sainsbury's. Closest is the Co-op in Barmouth. We went in on Sunday and it looked like it had been raided!! All they have is food items anyway. The town was rammed with people and neither of us like crowds so we literally grabbed a few things for tea and made our escape. I think we'll go home early - probably Wednesday - as we've run out of things to do. There are only so many trains and castles you can look at!

Always have mine plain - just a burger and a bun! I know they always get criticised as being 'unhealthy', and I'd never claim they are healthy, but at least a standard burger is griddled and not fried, and they are just beef and not loads of additives. I hate fat burgers that are raw in the middle - yuk - but McDs aren't filling so are only ever a quick snack on a very infrequent basis. I'm someone that hates food remember!

I must admit I do like a McDonalds every so often although I have to be careful not to eat to much of the bun due to my intolerances. Its a special treat for Mallory.....well and for us as well come to think of it. I don't think they hurt you now and then if you have a well balanced diet the rest of the time. I am non to fond of BBQ food because of raw in the middle food Kate although I must admit our Tim does a lovely BBQ though.

I wouldn't want one every day, three times a year is enough. We usually go for a roast dinner at a Toby or a pub meal if we are out and can not get home in time to cook. It suits me as I have to be careful with my intolerances and allergies they are such a bore come eating out. We are both quite good at cooking so do our own take on many different types of what we used to call foreign food years ago.

I couldn't find a Toby in Wales (though we do go to our local one about once a month) and there wasn't a local pub that did 'normal' pub meals - steak and chips, that sort of thing. There was a restaurant that did a la carte stuff. Yuk!
We probably have McDs once a month at the most, and then usually because we've been busy and can't be bothered to cook.

Don't know if I mentioned anywhere that our offices were flooded out with the bad storm we had in Birmingham on (I think it was) Sunday night. They discovered on Tuesday morning (after MOnday's Bank Holiday closure) that the basement was flooded - 2 fire engines had to pump it out, they've got industrial vacuums to get some of the rest, but there is a lot of oil as well from the lift that needs cleaning up. Lift is out of action, Environmental are checking for asbestos, I'm glad I came home from holiday early because i managed to get in today to get my laptop so that I can work from home or elsewhere on Monday. We might be allowed back in on Wednesday. I'd rather we stayed out - I hate driving in there every day. Takes ages and very stressful. Amazing how many people there are who should have their licences taken off them as they're idiots!!

We have a camera in Phoebe now as she is a van, people tear in front of her frightened to think she will slow them up even though she does have a fair turn of speed we have thanked good brakes and tyres so many times.

It would be quite hard to work from home all of the time as hubby does shifts and he thinks working from home is a euphemism for not doing any work! He will sit talking to me or feels like he can't sit in the living room because it'll distract me so can't win either way! Would be nice to do 2 days at home, 2 in Solihull, and just the 1 in Birmingham!

It was a new post in an existing team. Because we're now the largest CCG (clinical commissioning group) in England the workload has also grown, so my boss needed some help. They're all being lovely though, I feel like I am fitting in. Just need to learn how to do the job now!!

We've moved back in to the building in Birmingham, but only those of us on the ground floor (boo!). Today everyone was told it will remain that way for another week. Gutted. So much easier for me to be at my old office, but I have to travel because the rest of my team have. It's ridiculous but I have anxiety every morning about driving in to work, though the journey home is worse.

It's horrible to see the way it's going, and witness the selfishness of people today. Our geriatrics are glad of the care and will use services wisely - the youth think they have a god given right. The worst ones are those that don't work and think society owe them something.

I did have to laugh about the toe ache when we used to have Aurelia many years ago she would always get upset when she saw an ambulance with the lights and sirens going so we used to play guess whats wrong with comical things such as Oh some ones eye lash fell out or some ones has got a saucepan stuck on their head. It became one of those play in the car games and Mallory is really funny and comes up with some crackers her last one was Oh Nanny some one has eaten a poisoned carrot, She has such a well developed sense of humour. She thought that was hysterical and went round shouting 'BUBBLE JUICE!!!!' and collapsing in fits. 'Thanks for that, Gill,' said my nephew. And d'you know, I think he might have been being sarcastic...
Let's be safe out there, people; stay away from the poisoned carrots...

Caitlyn and Shaun are very funny too - I wonder if children are born with a sense of humour which is then killed off by grumpy teachers and frazzled parents.

I think the extent to which the parents interact with them makes a difference; some kids never see their parents' faces, just the back of an iphone or ipad. There was a good cartoon in the Oldie of a baby looking at the back of an iphone and shouting 'Mummy!'

Yes I think that is a big problem nowadays. I'm always moaning at my son because whenever the kids want something the answer is never "yes" or "no" its always "hang on" because he's busy on his phone so can't process what they're asking him. Don't get me wrong I love my ipad and iphone, but not at the detriment to the kids.

I think you may be right there Kate and they are born with a good sense of humour, Look at how quickly they learn to smile and will smile at just about anything. Sadly there is so much to take the fun out of things nowadays and Children can be under more pressure than we realise as they don't have such a care free childhood nowadays its all about what type of trainers and other material stuff as to if they fit in or not these days

I am one of the very few people nowadays that don't have a phone, I don't need one so haven't got one simple as that. So no need to bother me over trivial stuff that can wait till I get home. I hate that when you see men in the supermarket speaking over loudly saying "Oh darling they haven't got sprouts should I get a little cabbage or broccoli ?" Can they not make a decision for themselves. Another is texting while walking on the pavement not caring who is on it coming the opposite way. Not like me to rant so rant over !!!!!!!!

I agree, NN. Customers and sales people are stunned when I say I don't have a mobile. I DO, but it's for MY emergencies and I don't want it ringing constantly. And as for facebook - the RUBBISH people post on it...I've been out for meals and seen people photographing their dinner...odd.

I always find it amusing to watch old movies and think how different they would be nowadays - mobile phones is always the big change when the hero can't warn the victim that the bad guy is on the way so has to rush over to save the day. These days he'd just send a text message and go back to sleep!

But some things don't change; the female always goes out into the dark/down into the cellar wearing a tight short skirt and high heels...:face-smile:

I have a very simple mobile that has a "help" button that sends a message to daughter and hubby.
I always have it on me.
Only three people have its number but I still get sales men. They say the number came from a servey I did but never done anything like that on there!

Good grief, Ollie, that's terrible. I too guard my mobile number jealously (to be absolutely honest I can't remember it as I rarely use it and certainly never ring it) but still get the odd sales call. The worst offenders are the charities I have texted the odd few quid after a TV ad. I will NEVER do that again.

They have equipment that will dial random numbers in sequence until they get an answer. Once you've answered they know its a real number so will keep trying it or sell it on to other companies. I find those calls seem to come in fits and starts - I'll have 5 or 6 a day every day for a month and then nothing for a few weeks then they start again.
