I have been so annoyed with myself as I have had a cold or virus for the past nine days and have been blinking useless every thing has been such an effort. I have felt a lot better today and hardly coughed such a bonus as it has been a lovely sunny day so I was able to change beds and get washing out. Been quite busy as well. I hate feeling unwell its such a waste of time

That's exactly what I had NN, such a nuisance. Paracetamol and decongestant smelly stuff helped immensely!

Thanks CC I will try xx I seem to be having a good day then a couple of rough days, but I can now do a bit here and there so that's brilliant. I haven't left the house for a couple of weeks so am looking forward to doing something nice soon.

You have to make sure you recuperate properly - you probably push it too far on the good day, putting yourself back. I hear the forecast for next week is cold, so wrap up well!

That me down to a T Kate, I went out today first time for a couple of weeks, Had to get Mallory's birthday presents (she will be seven at the end of the month) and some white yarn as I am making a couple of shawls. A friend of mine has two lots of twins due in the family at roughly the same time. So she is making two shawls and I said I would help her out by making the other two.

That will keep you busy for a while NN! I need to think about making a blanket for my friend - she has asked for grey to go with her room as they don't have a separate room for the baby, but I might put some blue in it too as I know it's a boy. I prefer crochet to knitting at the moment though, but haven't seen a pattern I like.

These shawls are crochet Kate so will be much quicker to make. I managed to get a good bit of one done as I been taking it easy for a couple of days trying to shake off this virus. So many lovely patterns to choose from on Pinterest and Ravelry and many of them for free. Certainly be lovely to put some blue in it as grey just doesn't seem to be a baby colour to me being old fashioned.

Everything's bloomin'grey at the moment. 'Upcycled' means 'painted grey'. I tuned in a house the other week and having been concentrating hard, I looked up and experienced a moment of terror when I thought my eyes had lost their ability to see colour. It wasn't until I looked out the window and saw green outside that the panic dissipated. The entire room was the bleakest combination of grey, white and black with NOTHING to relieve it. Horrible. To inflict that on a child is cruelty!:face-sad:

It will have some blue. I did see a nice pattern but can't find it now - it'll turn up! I might paint the bedroom grey (and add colour elsewhere - bedding etc) and picked a nice pale one. Hubby said he wants battleship grey!!! Needless to say no paint has been bought yet!

All my walls are white and I have colour in the furnishings, I hate picking room colours and love loads of light so white works well for me. My house is a real mishmash of different mismatching things, but its home and that's the main thing to me.

If you paint a room you're stuck with it (says she with a deep red living room wall) but doing it your way you can ring the changes just by changing accessories. I love mismatches; an artist I knew had mismatched Victorian china and it looked so lovely... I would have smashed it all within a week!

That would be my preference NN. I'd potentially have one wall in a colour because that's not too difficult to paint again if you fancy a change, but hubby always wants colour so the only way i get what I want is to go buy it!

Not really a rant but more of a shock Mickey gave us yesterday. I had just got up and was getting dressed and I saw Mickey on the bedroom window sill. Then shock horror I realised he was on the outside of the window with a large drop onto a small concrete yard. Then I realised he couldn't turn round and leap for the flat kitchen roof where he had managed to get to the window sill from. I got the little top window open and encourage him to stand up to that, then grabbed him from the scruff of his neck. I went downstairs and the back door was wide open so he could in and out as he wished. (G/N was already up and about I am the lazy one !!) So goodness knows why he was trying to get in the bedroom window. Next thing we knew he was up on the shed roof and couldn't get down from there. G/N has turned the garden arch round so he can get down on that. He was a crazy loon all day zooming about busting one of G/Ns awards which was way up on top of the dresser. He is lucky we love him and are very forgiving parents !!!

Loony cat - they don't half give us a turn now and then, little b....lighters. Tuppence went up a tall tree and was up there ages pitifully mewing and after we went to find a long ladder she just casually climbed down and as we looked at her, dumbstruck, she just said 'What??' and went indoors.

Ha ha that's just typical cat isn't it that... What? and a flick of the tail for added contempt and attitude. I get it all the time from mine they like to keep me in place.

They do have mad 'uns sometimes don't they!! I find if one of mine does one naughty thing in a day they'll always do half a dozen more!
My cat (Emmett) fell from an upstairs windowsill when she was quite young. She was OK - lived to be 22 - but I've never let hubby forget that if he'd opened the window for her it wouldn't have happened!
