Do any of you drive while using your cell phone? Here's a place to get a headset (so you can be safer) for free. Its international, I believe. Not sure if that includes England. ;)

Free Headset Just the cost of postage (unless you want a bluetooth set.)

The vendor is a nonprofit with the mission of decreasing traffic accidents, etc.

We mainly use BLUETOOTH now in UK and its brilliant, no headsets needed, the car picks up your phone whilst it is in your pocket or cradle and with a small mic fitted to the window and the speakers are routed through your car stereo AWSOME. I use a Parrot car kit, and when I am in my sports car I have a motorolla ear piece and in InIts Coy car she has a PARMA hands free car kit attached to her sun visor. My motorcycle has a Autocom Hard wired system in the crash helmet.

Its all new stuff in USA I guess, but in UK we seem to be light years ahead

Wazza should also have said that in UK it is an offence, when driving, to use hand held phones. Though radio amateurs can still use their handsets.

Wazza, we have ALL the neat new stuff here in the USA too. It's just that it has only become illegal in a few states so far, to talk on the cell phone while driving, without a hands free device. It's hard in a "free county" to pass laws that infringe on personal rights. Each state gets to pass it's own laws about this kind of thing. We don't have a Federal Law about headsets here in the USA (yet).

So - the point of my post is that this is a site through which one can acquire those things for free. Yipee!

Bluetooth set is not free though - but about half price ($27.00) I don't use bluetooth because you get charged one more monthly fee for it. I think its very cool though.

I don't use bluetooth or anything else when I drive - my phone rings until I find somewhere to stop and then I either answer it or call back or ignore it til I get where I'm going.

My yuppiephone number is a secret to everybody including me. It only ever rang once - when it was in my shirt pocket. Thought I was having some sort of cardiac arrest...:(

I turn mine off as soon as I've finished bending someone's earole, too. Your ma is a wise woman, Cake; it means we can't be bothered by people unless we want to be!

I hate the dependence we have on them. Best and worst invention rolled into one.

You don't have to be dependent; leave it at home for one day. Your family know where you work, so could reach you in the MOST unlikely event of an emergency. And everyone else can just ring you at home and leave a message.
You'll be amazed how much spare time you'll have without fiddling with the poxy thing.

True ... but I like the fact that if Danny has an emergency or Mic is ill or hubby has had an accident they can get hold of me straight away.

They can ring work and get you. And why should they be ill/have accidents? Do they do it often...? ;)

Yes!! When I worked at the local hospital everytime I had a week off I'd end up back there - usually with Danny!

(Blimey, sounds like I used to beat him when I was home! He'd fall off his bike / get hit in the face with a golf club / sand in his eye / usual kid things!)
