wow nancy you are so HOT... the last one is a fan , an escape fan for trapped fumes and air it was part of a ground level bridge built over a boggy area when the m25 Motorway was built.. the one previous to that well thats a FOG detector on the motorway it sends out a beam and if it hits fog it bounces back and triggers off the FOG warning signs on the motorway

A number of the signs on the ferries are amazingly stupid. I sent CC a pic of one that's about 10 feet up in the air in tiny writing. Can't remember what the instructions were. I'll have to go search for it in my collection...

Kate was CORRECT about the photo she was describing. The one before that was also on the ferry. I took it Thursday night when I was coming home from work. I was sitting looking at the color of the sky at dusk and just took the shot from exactly what my view was at the time, out the front of the car window. I like the rope coiled around the round steel banister and the rust on the frame of the boat.

My friend's cat had 6 toes on each foot - it was called Tootsie. They're officially 'polydactyls' and look very cute. Must've been a good joke the dogs were laughing over!!!

    LOL - thats funny Ollie.

Its Tubbles and he DOES look like a squirrel. He's a very insecure boy. My sister told me so and I kind of laughed it off. BUT, speak of him critically, push him away in those times when you need to be doing other things, pet another animal - and he gets this look on his face where there is no mistaking that he feels COMPLETELY crushed. And then, for a time, he is inconsolable. It has to be seen to be believed...

The white butt/black tail, to his right, is his sister Lucy. Even in this photo she is in a standoff with Maya... Then to Lucy's right is Catfish. He made me think of Buddha on a regular basis. I think I miss him the most. Although I miss all three of 'em.

I like Catfish - he looks like a cat I had as a child, Beauty, by name and nature. She was hit by a car after we moved to Birmingham and when her kittens were only 5 weeks old. I was inconsolable when she died - my mom gave me valium to knock me out!

Have they gone to your sister's house now then? I bet the house is quiet without them.

Yes they did. We kept one of them - a gorgeous pure black long-haired male. My mom insisted on calling him Cherry (like black cherry). Funny thing is I don't recall much about him now. I mean, I was about 15 or 16 at the time so I should remember. Perhaps I've shut it out. I remember blaming my mom eternally that my cat got run over. I didn't want to move to Birmingham and if we hadn't she wouldn't have been killed.

I firmly believe that camera buffs will take a picture of abslootly ANYTHING!
I loved the flower and the slug, Luke; they'd make good cards. Well, the flower would, I don't suppose many people would buy a pic of a slug! :D
I thought you were a born & bred Brummie, Kate?

Oh what a sad sad story - about Beauty, Kate. I'm sorry that happened.

My cat growing up, was named Mittens. Catfish reminds me a lot of her, as well. I was pretending, a little bit, while he lived here that he was her reincarnation. He came in a slept with me the second night before my sister came and took him. That made me feel good. And also sad...

Oooo. Coool pics Luke! What are the lights? And the star thingy?

Your slugs are err ... moister than ours. Yurp.

On the coast here, oop in Canada, they've been finding shoes with feet in them. Six in all have floated up recently. Only two from the same person. They have no idea what happened to the people yet. Your shoe pic brought that to mind. So I thought I'd share.

I remember hearing something about shoes in feet washing ashore on the news a while ago but didn't recall where it was.

No CC, I was born in Wordsley Hospital, then was fostered and lived in Bromsgrove, then went back to my mom and lived in Stourbridge. Its all within 20 miles of Birmingham, but I'm not a true Brummie! I moved to the 2nd city when I was 15.

And Diane, the one with the lights is actually just an LED light from asda (wal-mart(?)) and the star is just a closeup of a medal.

We just say: I'm moving. I guess the whole sentence would be: I'm moving to a new house.

At one point, everything I owned fit into my Toyota pickup truck. No longer...

Everytrhing we own would fit into a pantechnicon. With a trailer. And a few carrier bags and a few boxes of books.
