Posted By: KatebSaturday I'm accompanying hubby to Silverstone. (I think I should swap places with Ace - she could pretend to be me and go for the day. She'd enjoy it, I'm just being a good wife and keeping him company!) Sunday will be an ice hockey game. Weekend over again!

hehe. That would be funny, Kate. My dad is thinking of going there this weekend. A bit far to travel though.
Next year i might be going to EVERY single BSB meeting as i think we are doing some sort of charity thing where my dad and i sell raffle tickets.

Fancy telling me that Ace - now I'll end up buying raffle tickets and saying "are you Ace?" if we go to any of the rounds. Then I'll come back and post "I didn't see you" and you'll say "I didn't go to that one". [sigh] You'll have to tell me in advance!!!

I don't like antiques either CC, but it still sounds preferable. Except he's driving and wouldn't let go of the keys in case I didn't go back for him!!!

If we are doing it then we would be at ALL the BSB meetings, and the prize for whoever wins would be a new Kawasaki. Hopefully a ninja, but Kawasaki have already agreed to supply us with a bike, so hopefully i will be doing that next year.

I was 'put onto the wrong train' and it arrived too late at Manchester for my connection. I blagged my way onto the next train.
Coming back I got a car lift part way and tried to use the rest of my ticket from there but ended up having to buy another ticket. I was still in pocket however.

I seem to remember I had bought the tickets off that same travel site.
Reading through the choices and using single tickets instead of returns saved me about £50.

Nice, Ollie! My friends were going home last weekend, and asked the bus driver whether the bus went to Stoke train station. The bus driver said yes. 45 minutes later they realised they were miles away from where they needed to be (opposite direction!) and the train was leaving in half an hour...

They had to phone a taxi driver who went through several red lights and only charged them half fair in order to try and get them there on time. They managed it - just!

However because of exams nobody will be wanting to drink (apart from the lucky gits who have finished already!) so we are just gonna order several pizzas, decorate the top landing and get a film ready to watch, then wait patiently in the dark until he comes and sees what's going on!

How did they get their name, Ace? I thought at first they were a Cold Play tribute band!

so they've been playing together longer than you've been alive? How did you get to be a fan?

Yep they have been going longer than i have! I became a fan because i'd seen them in a newspaper a few times and then found them on myspace, became one of their friends and went to one of their gigs and then another and another...

Let's hope all is well. Though we've been listening to the hens all day and they sounded quite normal.

Maybe Neil is taking it easy a little. It must be hard being at our beck and call.

Praps he's gone to visit Red, or has a life and is doing something interesting.

I've done not a lot today and intend to spend tomorrow doing the same. Except eldest has an ice hockey game so we'll be down the rink for that.

Glad they're all back with us. Get well soon Red!

Been to the rink - son's team won 15-4 or something like that. Boring game - prefer it when there's only one goal in it and it could go either way.

"What am I Doing This Weekend?"

I am sitting here with my little laptop watching hencam and reading the floods of emus.

I see Neil has gone off to see the sea.
He has just gone through one of my favourite places, Staithes in Yorkshire. From there I once had a ride on the Lifeboat to its base in Whitby, just for fun. It was Lifeboat day.

    Having fun touring with Stalker.

Today the hencam owners are visiting relatives...
Hopping from one to another just in time to scoff a meal at each ...

I had a neighbour like that. She would bring the kiddies to play and stay all day. It took us sometime to realise that she was going to a different house every day!! Saved an enormous amount on her heating and food bills.

Neil. How does your phone company charge you for stalker, please?

Erm... probably quite extortionately Ollie! :)

It's good to know that at least someone checks the stalker page now and again, so I'll probably keep it going!

I posted a couple of pics from our visit to Staithes (which somehow always reminds me a bit of been in Cornwall, although upsettingly this time Staithes seemed a bit 'empty' - all the shops were shut on a Saturday afternoon, a lot of the houses had 'reposession' notes on them, there was a total power cut in the village etc etc... :( ) Hope the village can survive as it's a gorgeous little place.

We mainly went out 'for a drive' but ended up aiming somewhere towards the coast - I suspect my nephew would have preferred somewhere with amusements like Scarborough, but I think he was happy to get out of the house and have an ice-cream in the chilly weather!

Grr. Going out 'for a drive'. I used to hate that. If I asked where we were going I generally got the reply 'There and back to see how far it is'. Ooh, I'm all cross now, just thinking about it.

It's in North Yorkshire, right? Might see if we can catch bus-age or train-age there when me and my uni mates go camping, what you think? Oh, and by the way, you did say yes to me using the tent...didn't you? :P

when I was little we had relatives (by marridge) drop by at dinner time to visite . Hummf! The whole lot of them! They would show up on Sunday evening like a huge cloud of locusts ! Eat every thing in sight and not offer to help clean up! So to stop this from continueing my Mother would cook every thing and pack it up and go to my granny's house. At her house the kitchen was in the far back of the house and you could be in there and not be seen from the front door , also we parked the car at the back door too . you could not see it from the high way!
That was rather tacky of your neighbor ! how did you deal with it?

Yes you have, I was there with you!!

Besides which, there are eight girls and no tent is big enough to fit that many people in...other than ours!! :P If you won't let us borrow it, you can give us £30 for another pitch or two! Besides, everyone else is bringing stuff, it's only fair i do too...None of the other tents can get damaged due to unreasonable parents, so this'n won't either I promise ;)

Oh, did i mention two friends are coming to stay for a night or two at our house as well?? :ange:

    Keeper of the hens

    What i'm doing this weekend:

Today ~ did 7 hours voluntary work then met up with some friends. Went and bought some tacky joke presents for a friend who is at home due to family reasons. Then tonight we went to X Block and watched a DVD (Big Daddy) and then played Sing Star.

Tomorrow ~ Going to Hanely park to feed the ducks and swans and go for a walk round the woods. Hope the weather is nice  Then the friend who has been at home for the past week should arrive back and we can hand over the gifts. Not sure what is planned for tomorrow night.
