The NEC is great - 5 minutes from my house!! If I go there I get hubby to drop me off at B'ham international train station, or over by the car parks, and we walk down. The car parking charges are horrendous!

    Keeper of the hens

I'm leaving, have to be out by 12...I have to say goodbye to my best friends, and leave E Block for the last time...

It's so depressing. But we had a good last night, I haven't slept yet!! :) The roof door was open so we climbed up onto the Block roof and made a flag out of Lyle's underpants he left in my room; we wrote E BLOCK on them and used a traffic cone and wooden pole to hold them up. They're up there now flapping on the roof, you can even read it from the ground :rolling:

I'm not sure they will spot it though. They didn't see the giant MERRY XMAS message we stuck to the roof when that was up :rolling:

And someone will have to climb up onto the roof, then somehow get up to the second roof-roof, in order to get the flag down...I really doubt they'll be bothered to do that, or be able to! :D

I went to Silverstone to see the Renault F1 Series
    thingys on Sunday.
A truly great day. we had two passes to the BRDC and apparently it does not get better then that.
My friend and I had a great day. She did say that we should look out for some rich men but we were so busy enjoying ourselves that we never did get to that.

I'm told that you only get invited to the BRDC unless you are one of the British Racing Drivers yourself (and I know that I am not :-) ) so these were very exclusive passes. Got to park right next to the club building and the views from there were just great.

Excellent a wedding - I do like an excuse to dress up. I'm hopping to do nothing this weekend. Went to Gary's neices christening on Sunday she's 9 months and its the first time we've seen her - also found out Gary's twin sis is pregnant again (6 months down the line). Gary's struggling to get his head round that "at her age" (41) as he says, but then he can't get his head round having one so was only to be expected. :-)

Wedding was great. nice to see everyone again.
The wedding was at an big hall on Wharf Road, Hockley.

I saw teh signs for the Jewellery Quarter, I did nto even know there was such a place. Will ahve to go visit another time. Only to look.. :-)

Got there on time and all was well, I was just a bit tearful though because that was me not less then 3 years ago. If I had known what I know now, I'd not have put myself thru that..it's not as if I'm a spring chicken:turkeydance: anyway. All this making promises in front of God and Society.

Still, Mum enjoyed herself although she was totally knackered by the time I got her home. It's the first tiem she has done anything major since coming home from hospital.

    This weekend:
Friday evening - my fav. brother coming to visit Ma and me. Then we will eat out at the Chinese, my firend Sue coming over too and staying the night so we can murder a bottle or two of grape juice.
She has just got herself a job after being out of work for 5 months...
    Saturday
Going to Fillipino Festival at Campbell Park in MK
Going to London for 3 pm. to a house warming.
Rushing back from London in time for other friends to arrive so I can get dinner cooked for them and put them up for the night.
Sunday - cooking various dishes for another friend who is having a baby naming ceremony for her little baby girl and big gathering / party and I'm to be one the Godmother. :cheer::cheer::cheer: (never been a godmother before so that is lovely for me)

All in all, more on then I can fit into a weekend.

Hi Ace! Hubby and Danny went to Moto GP today too.

Are you doing stone carving again CC? Now that my garden is finished I can finally put Joey's grave marker out there without fear of it being lost in the weeds. What do I need to coat it with to protect it? I can't remember!

Its only Monday and I've got the day off - but already I'm looking forward to the next weekend. Cleaned out the chickens this morning and gave into them, as soon as I open the back of thier nesting boxes which lead into our side of the shed (or the hospital wing at the mopment) thye all try and get thorugh so I gave in and let them all mix up and then sorted them out when I'd finished.

My girls are due a clean out this afternoon. I just got to wait for the rain to clear. It is brightening up somewhat so hopefully I can spend a bit more time out with them today. They do love company. Mine tend to get their own way as well Tracy, it is easier to give in sometimes Ha ha

went to Woburn Safari Park on Saturday. A perfect day. This is the first time I have been to a Safari Park ever ever ever in my life. Having been brought up in Kenya, I saw all the animlas in their normal environment and had never wanted to go see them anywhere else, but a friend of mine had alwasy wanted to go, so we did and we had a very good day.
The lions and the zebras look so well fed, I bet they all gret brushed daily...thy looked all glossy and healthy. not quite like the animals who have to fight for their living daily.

Then to add more fun to our weekend, we went to Waddesdon Manor on Sumnday. It is a NT proeprty and since I made myself a member, why not !!!!
    Great day, lovely gardens.

:bigsmile:Got plenty happening in the Dave household (btw...that is my surname)

To-day is Raksha bandhan day. Cooking dinner for my (adopted) brother today. Will cook for my own brother on Sunday since he can't be here to-day.
Here is a link explaining it all:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raksha_Bandhan

Then Ma is in hospital tomorrow for her Angiogram and TOE (a bit like an endoscopy) and I'm stressing for her and worrying.
My sainted sister-in-law has agreed to take her in for me for which I am eternally thankfull.
Then on Friday I have to take Ma to see her Consultant, I guess they will have the results by then and might even give us a date for her valve replacmeent Op.
So, I don't just have butterflies in my stomach for tomorrow but I also have a herd of wilderbeest stampeding in there.

Maybe on Friday, if all is well with Mum, I'll go and see Ice Age3 with a friend.

On Saturday I will be working all day at Sulhamstead Open Day for TVP if all is well with Mum and I can leave her on her own.
I volunteer as a Custody Visitor and will be helping to man the Custody Visitors Stall.
    http://www.thamesvalley.police.uk/newsevents/newsevents-events/newsevents-events-openday.htm

Sunday, Mum and my big bruv and I will have lunch, which I shall cook specially for him as a belated lunch for Raksha Bandhan.

My home is going to be a ''husband'' free zone from Friday morning to Monday evening so I will be at peace and all that.

I've got tired just thinking of all this stuff....lots of ups and lots of worries and hopefully no downs. :-)

We're going to visit my husband's cousin who is meeting her illegitimate half-sister for the first time. She asked us to go for moral support and we can always be relied on for comic relief if it gets too intense.

Also, will be meeting cousin's autistic son for the first time. He apparently keeps asking "when are the new people coming?" - bless.

Of course, we will be taking eggs as a present!

I din't realise it ws the balloon festival this weekend. I haven't been for a few years now. Last time we went we went with friends who lived at Denton just outside Northampton. Anyway long story short, we watch loads go up, went back to their house and low and behold about 4 came down int he field next to their house. We bought my mum a balloon ride for her 50th Birthday and she was 53 before she actaully got to go up as they kept being cancelled, All of the family stood in a field at 6am whilst mum ran round like a child with a big grin on her face helpign to inflate it.
