Chickens
Daily -- Feed chucks - half corn, half pellets
- Check for eggs (obviously not through winter, but then you need to check the nest box is dry & clean)
- Let chucks out to free-range for at least half an hour (let Milly out to explore all of the garden, she likes to go into the kitchen)
- While they are free-ranging, turn dirt over in coop so it stays nice and dry
- Sit with Milly for cuddles and kisses! (for at least fifteen minutes, more when she is moulting as she needs extra love
) - Thoroughly clean chicken's water container
- Check Milly for mites & other bugs when she is on your lap, you need to seperate the feathers and check at the base, check her *ahem* vent, check her legs, comb and nose!
- Clean the mirror in the coop
- Clean out nest box & house (whenever needed really)
- Scrub perches
- Feed Domino - food must go in bowl NOT on the floor! She has half a bowl of food, some grass & some vegetables (vary the veg)
- Check water bottle, clean & re-fill when needed
- Add more straw to bedroom (more often in winter)
- Clean food bowl
- Give her some treats, offer from hand - vanilla / yoghurt choccy drops are her fave!
Every other day - Top her food bowl up, about a third full. Add 1 dog treat, 2 ferret treats & two choccy drops. You can put some chocolate drops in her ball too, and hide some around the cage if you want
- Check she has water and that it is clean - it needs cleaning quite often!
- Clean her cage! (can last longer, but should be cleaned weekly)
- Re-organise her cage - swap her bed for one of the other ones, move the furniture about, add sticks, cardboard, tubes etc.

Also, Molly needs cleaning out - there are some little cereal boxes to go in her cage, so have a faff about and get it looking nice :)

Not bad. Of course I've sat with Milly, she didn't want anything to do with me though - mustn't be missing you too much yet!
Did it last night. Used cereal boxes. She's a cutie :)

Has miss Milly been cuddled?

Yes! She came and hopped on my lap this evening, and shuffled up so I could put my arms round her.
She still wasn't that impressed though and you could tell she was thinking "But you're not Scarlet!" and after a few minutes she hopped off... -
At least she has had a cuddle...

Dad, I meant to ask yesterday, have you been turning the dirt over in the chicken coop? You need to otherwise it will go all hard and boggy, and start to smell...turning it over keeps it nice and fresh and soft. Also the water looks disgusting, i do believe you need to clean it out.

Dad you really need to build Tilly a ramp...she just tried to fly up to the nest box at the wrong bit, almost get up and then fell down again...silly Tilly chuck
