Wow first real sunny and dry day for ages for me. I got my grass cut at last and several other outdoor jobs. The girls were a bit naughty as they had dug up one of my new rose bushes. I have got it planted back in so fingers crossed it survives. I found a bit of netting in the shed so hopefully that will keep them off it for a day or two.

We had plenty of rain during the night but it was nice and warm and sunny during the morning. We just got in from the park and it chucked it down with rain again. Then we had a huge thunder storm early evening. I got some plum jam made this afternoon. My little tree did us proud this year with eight and a half pounds of fruit.

almost a tropical rain storm yesterday but jsut think, the garden is loving it and I was abel to get near my plum tree without those horrid wasps and maybe if I can do that to-day then I will pick some of the ripe fruit.

BTW...talking about wasps, I spoke to my Doc. and he has prescribed 2 epi-pens for me and a blood test to determine if I have some sort of an allergy.
    So....a result !!! I am glad I asked him.

Spoke to my in-house Doctor :001_smile:(my brother) who tells me that blood tests do not determine an allergy to wasp stings so I'd be interested to see what they are going to test the blood for.
He tells me that they would usually do a lgA test (whatever that is) :001_unsure:

A beautiful day here not to hot and not to cold. I got loads done in the garden, B and Q have reduced their rose bushes to £2.50 and with my pensioners card I got another 10% off. I got three so hopefully I will have some nice flowers come next year. The little scrap of net I found in the shed has kept the hens off so far.
I had to put Sootz and Sylvi in the gazebo with Victoria hen. They were almost cacking themselves being in with her and she was the same about them. I kept a good eye on them all to begin with, but after ten minutes they settled down and all had a good sleep. Glad to report that they all survived the experience unharmed.

Yes I was pleased that they did CC. I had to bath Victoria today as she had a dust bath in some cat poo and was covered in it. Lucky she was in a way as I discovered she had a touch of sour crop as well.

I had to dash out and get live yoghurt for her and then give her a bath. She was such a good girl and made no fuss whatso ever. I couldnt just put her back out soaking wet as it has turned quite chilly here so got the hair dryer gently dried her with that. She loved it and was stretching her wings out to get the best of the warmth. She is back in her makeshift nest in the cat carrier, looking regal and proud again.

It has been real nice here today with real nice sunny spells. There was dark cloud about but it was real high. I went plane spotting with Grandad North. We took a picnic which was nice. There was a lot of people there today. I always feel I look real silly with my little camera as the men all have these huge cameras with gigantic lenses on. Yet I am always quite pleased with my pictures. The pilots are real friendly and all give a wave or salute, they are practising in readiness for a tour to Afghanistan

I have almost finished picking all the tomatoes.
The chillis are still going strong.
Don't know if I wille ver get any aubergines because I was so late with transplanting them.

A day in the garden is called for and so is a day in the house.

Both my hens are sitting on eggs now so Onion and Lemon are hanging around together looking for trouble. Onion pecked Dini the rabbit for nothing (although Dini had been chasing the cockerels earlier on, so that might have been tit-for-tat) then tried to chase Kathleen when she went out to the bin (but K chased him back). Then it was so wet that he and Lemon went to bed at 6ish!

Is it raining in hencam-land this evening?

Hubby has a trackday at Rockingham on Saturday (its somewhere near Northampton - Corby I think). Just looked at the website and they have a livecam! Its opposite the pits and apparently you can stand on top of the garages to watch, so if anyone is bored on Saturday and fancies watching you might see me!!!! (That's if its working at this time of year)...

I'll be watching. I LOVE live webcams. Have all sorts on my laptop, from Atumnwatch (BBC) to The Wailing WAll.
Needless to say I watched every minute of the Mine rescue. Fell for Laurence... the mining minister with his enchanting smile. He thoroughly enjoyed cuddling all those women while they were waiting for their men to come up.
Had spent the 24 hours before this tracking my Sis-in-Law on her trip to Aus. (Melbourne Julie!)

I'm not sure its working Ollie - if you do get chance to have a look you'll have to let me know.
I didn't know there was a chilian miners cam - that must've been fascinating.

Its been pelting down here this evening - hope it stops tomorrow!

:face-smile:to-day. . lovely clear sky and an orangey / pinky shading to it too. bit dark in the morning on my drive in and I had not one but 3 foxes crossing the road in front of me. I guess they were all off to some conference.:face-smile:

managed to do an hour in the garden yesterday which has not even made a difference but I felt good. specially since I got to plant some crocuses. Will do the daffs today if I have some time to myself.
    Dentist at 5 pm.
Bollywood dancing class at 7 pm.

No problems at the Ddentist. My Dentist is lovely and usually quite gentle. She is Iranian and I love her accent and the way she talks to my like my Ma. It was only the usual 6 monthly check-up and I felt like she was going to give me a lollipop for being a good girl when she finished.. :face-smile:

Bollywood Dancing - I do get myself talking in
to doing the most strangest of things. I'm enjoying it but am really struggling to co-ordinate my hands and my feet at the same time. I think I need twice as long as some to get there. I am also satisfying a childhood desire to learn dancing. Ma would not allow me because it was only something that 'cheap girls' did !!!! God knows where she got that from.
Little does she know that I will have a go at Belly Dancing too. Classes start in February I think :face-devil-grin:Something tells me that Ma will keep her thoughts to herself.

Is that why I always stand on one leg?!

I love herons, but the girls always pitch a fit when one flies over a garden! Always makes us jump when we are in the study and one flies past, they look like a flipping pterodactyl!!

I had to zoom in on him Kate, I dare not get to close else he may have flown off, they are not as friendly as ducks and swans.

I would fall over on one leg even if I did concentrate Shobhna !!!!

They are big old things and they certainly do look like pterodactly thingies in flight.

Grandad North said where has he put his other leg then ? He was so serious and made me laugh. I told him he had tucked it up his umm...feathers or something like that!!!

He is lovely - I went on a training course and there was one (or a pair) of herons that seemed to live at the lake in the grounds (it was well stocked with fish!)

The picture was taken on my i-phone so isn't very good quality!

That looks so idyllic Kate and quite a good picture from a phone.
I am none to good with my phone and havent a clue how the camera works, come to that I can not even text and hate having to use it. I get all embarressed and flustered if it rings when I am out or in company. I try to forget it exsists !!!!

Do you know that they do very simple basic models that seem to be favoured among the young and the more mature of the population! All they do is make calls and text, the buttons are a bit bigger, and they are very easy to use. Don't know where you'd get one from though!

Look in The Oldie magazine, they usually advertise there. I think it's something simple like Big Button Phone. and some of the catalogues like Coopers now do them.

What a nasty, nasty day it has been, my poor girls got soaked to their skin. I took them out some warm sweet corn before they went to bed slipped on the patio and spilt the lot !!! I had to open the gate and call them in to eat it from there. What a plonker, luckily I didnt hurt myself.

Since I got The Mansion, the chickens stay in if it's raining, apart from the odd break-neck sprint round the garden, like on the Happy Eggs advert!
