Yes i think so NN, to the question regarding Magic Rounabout :)

Weather here was promising to be a nice day again, but now it has clouded over and gotten nippy. Think it might just start raining in time for when i have to walk over to pick the kids up from school, hurray!

NN, Biggleswade is not the land of roundabouts....I work in Biggleswade and it seems to have one long street and lots of narrow streets. I work just off the A1 so never go into Biggleswade unless I absolutely ahve to.
The land of roundabouts is Milton Keynes and yes, we do have concrete cows although I don't think they have names...we certainly have lots and lots of trees and a lot of landscapng in MK and lot sof roundabouts too.

I got muddled up, I used to go to Biggleswade years ago shopping and stuff, but as I said It was years ago and like a different part of my life. I think it was Stevenage where they had plenty of roundabouts as well and that is where I did my driving lessons. I did used to go to Stevenage 10 pin bowling I had a friend who lived there. I have been to Milton keynes once and remember it as concrete every where as it was a fairly new town back then.

Glad I made the most of the day after my late start. It has clouded up now and looks as if it could tip it down with rain. I power washed my patio this afternoon, it looks real nice and fresh now. Soots went up to the top of the apple tree and busted several small branches getting down!! He is a real clown.

A quick warning to everyone on southern England: My family are planning to have a BBQ at the weekend, so expect a thick blanket of cloud and/or heavy rain to roll out over at least half the country on Friday night and linger until Monday morning.

Hey Trev!! Max is about 30-32 although it can go as high as 36-37 sometimes - not often though. Then there's the humidity which can make it feel in the 40s..hopefully not this summer. We have a thing called the Humidex - basically tell what the temperature + humidity "feels" like.

Sounds like you are going to have a good day so enjoy it. Yum spinach curry sounds divine, my neighbour used to make it, She always gave a meal when I did late nights. Bless her she taught me to make chapatta as well and if I didn't roll them into a perfect round she wouldn't cook them. She was a real lady.

Not really NN.. We usually always get rain with our lightning Although we have had the odd winter lightning storm...which is quite rare here.

We had a nasty front move through yesterday... 100 km/h winds...very dark clouds moving in like pouring chocolate over a cake (weird I know - its the best I could come up with!)...no lightning/thunder that I heard of...which is unusual...then some rain but not as much as they were predicting (75mm).

I think its going to be a rainy month though...we'll see!

That sounds real nasty weather Jonny, woudn't want to be a stealth hen out in that. Which brings me nicely to something funny I want to tell you about. Yesterday my next door neighbour stood on a couple of bricks to have a look over my garden fence. He didn't realise I was there giving the hens some treats, (he indulges a bit to much in spliffs) He said Cor I like that grey hen, I couldn't help myself and said oh shes a stealth hen, teflon coated you know. I am surprised you can see her it must be bright and sunny today. He said ohh maybe that's why I have never seen one like her before then. I don't know how I didn't fall over laughing. My Hubby said it was very bad of me and couldn't see the funny side of it. I am sure you will though Jonny.

Victoria decided to have a mud bath silly girl she looks such a state now. The sky went real black and we have had a good hail shower. The water on the pond looked as if it was boiling. The sky is that horrid yellowy colour now.

Some nasty little rain showers about today, it turned real cold with each shower, enough to have to put my gardening coat on. I did manage to get the girls bed room mucked out and gave them fresh hay in their laying compartment. I gave the grass a quick trim as well. Hopefully it will be dryer tomorrow so I can get the laundry out.

You did well this morning Ollie. I got my chores done and walked to the feedstuff store for some oyster shell grit for the girls. It is up hill all the way and with the wind howling at what felt like gale force, I was sweltering time I got there. I only got two little bags to be going on with. I made a detour to go to B and Q for more fence preservative and they had a good offer on if you bought two. Seeings as it was mostly down hill on the way home I decided to get two. I forgot that from B and Q the shortest way home was up hill !! Still I made it with several rests inbetween. Feel quite chuffed now though.

It's just damping gently here, but will tip later. I feel sorry for the poor policemen who are having to patrol the school all night because some stupid kids think it's funny to break into the school and muck it up the night they 'finish' school. Every year the school threaten to stop any brats who do it from taking their GCSEs/A Levels but they always go back on it. :\

What a wet day, then tonight we had a cracking thunderstorm. The sky was so dark it was like night at one point. I let my hens use the summer house when the rain is bad but the roof has decided to leak like a seive. Poor little girls have been wet almost all day. Teddy quickly made them an ark up tonight from a couple of old fence panels. They were in it before we had even finished it. I am calling him Noah now and have told the girls they must enter it two by two !!! We have decided to make them a better one next week all being well.

The weather has been hot here the last couple of days, so I've been outside doing yardwork and cleaning the duck pens out. We are going to move the ducks to the other side of the horse pen from where they have been this past Winter..they do make a smelly mess. I've been able to let my baby geese outside to walk around..I feel like Mother Goose..they follow me where ever I go. They are so sweet. It's not supposed to start raining again till Tuesday, so I hope we can get a few more big chores done before it gets icky again.

:bigsmile:weather seemed promising when I came into work at 7 am although I have not looked out since then and it could well have snowed for all I know.
will find out when it comes to 3 pm.

can someone please order good weather for this weekend. planning on going to Wrest Park at Silsoe in Bedfordshire. There is a garden show on and I need more bargains.

We had the scariest thunder storm ever at about 2pm today, woke me up! Was like we were in the middle of a hurricane or tornado, then the wind disappeared to be replaced with hail stones and lightning...crazy!

And before anyone calls me lazy, I was up the night before until 4:30am doing revision :P

Posted By: init sisterLynn, I'd love to have a couple of geese for guard-dogs (or are they guard-geese) Wonder if they can be noisy?

Yes, they are VERY noisy if they see a stranger. My Sebastopol geese are very sweet though and don't attack like other types of geese that I have had in the past did. It's usually only the males that are a problem anyway..girls are usually always sweeter, the Sebastopols are known for their good natures.

It is real warm but overcast here today, we have the promise of heavy down pours later and I dont think the forcasters will be wrong this time. I would have loved to have seen the water fight Red. My kids used to gang up on me so I always got the good soaking.

I thought it was going to rain first off this morning. I walked up to the post office as I had to send a registered letter so put a jacket on. Big mistake the sun came out and nigh on cooked me. I was then annoyed with myself as I meant to take my camera to get a couple of pictures of the old stamp machine on the side wall of the post office, you dont see many of them nowadays so must record it before it disapears. I will go up again soon. It has been so hot and I have a massive head ache this evening feels like there could be a storm brewing.

    Second childhood is really great.
Folks say " Oh, the poor dear. It's her age you know."
While we have a whale of a time getting very cross and winding people up no end.
I love it. Also the forgetting part.. I can easily forget the awful stuff and delight in the rest.
Think I am still OK to live on my own, though family live only a few yards away... very reassuring...

I agree Ollie and find that sometimes it makes you naughty just for the hell of it !!! What amazes me is how brave people think you are when you venture forth by yourself or start something new. It is like when I fly somewhere by myself every one is so shocked that I can do it quite happily and dont need my hand held.
