Its been really hot here too - hubby sat out for about 20 mins and now has a suntan. Grrr. I spent all day cleaning the rat room and cages, and moving it all around. The twins are not impressed! So I missed out on all the sunshine.

Hot hot hot here again, luckily we have a bit of breeze which helps. My Hennies have all been fast asleep under the laurel bush this afternoon. I had a good clean of my conservatory and I wanted to get the cats blankets. baskets and beds washed while it was hot. It is nice to sit in the cool for a while.

Weather here nice and sunny. Intend to get a tan on back of arms and legs today as I am a free spirit again now school has reopened - well until 4.00 anyway.

Have two nice private areas in the garden where I could strip right off but that would scare the wild birds a bit too much.

I don't think this Hencam holiday would be at Trevsmum's due to me also being a holiday treat for all those biting insects..

We had a lovely trip once before, I think it ended up mid-Atlantic. A naughty Hencammer hid my costume and I had to go "oven-ready".

It seems strange when you say 42c in January and 14c at the moment, because January was our winter. I tend to forget we are so far from you I think it is because you are just a click away on the PC. It is overcast here at the moment. Yesterday was beautiful nice and warm with superb blue sky. Then the clouds started to slowly appear. It did turn into a lovely evening. We walked with Dan and Gail across the fields hoping to see the deer. They are wild ones and several of them are white.

More and more students have been going to Templar (the Hawthorns bar) rather than the Students Union, meaning the Union is losing money. As a result Templar and the Union are now at war with each other, and the Union is being seriously petty by doing things such as calling the police to Templar due to noise and complaining because Templar were selling drinks outside when they aren't technically allowed to :-\

The road to my son's office block (and the 6 others around it) melts every summer when it gets to about 24 degrees. Last year was terrible - it was liquid so you had to drive really slowly so it didn't splash up the car and ruin it. In the end they came and "sorted it out" - they threw a load of loose chippings on it. It was melting again yesterday.

Thats a good one Ollie and very sensible. I can remember babies taken to inhale the fumes from the hot tar boiler to strenghten their chests and ward off illness and such. My brother and I used to pinch little bits of shiney tar from the cart for chewing.

I thought it was going to rain heavily as we had some real black clouds but they trundleg over our area with just a couple of spots. I got more of the garage cleared out today, what a load of old rubbish I keep. I found some old white paint so gave the walls in there a good painting. It sure has brightened it up. But OMG the huge spiders in there. I can deal with them if they don't come to near, but one came on my leg and I nearly had a heart attack. I had to come in and have a mug of coffee to calm myself down. It is almost done now thank goodness.

We had a beautiful day here today, not too hot, so I got lots of chores done. My baby geese had fun following me around..the Silkie chickens tried to join in on the walk, but they couldn't keep up with their little short legs.

oh Bless they are such good company. My hens make every outdoor chore last that little bit longer, as there is always a log to turn or a big rock to roll for a look under.

I've jusy oicked Livia off her eggs and put her down the other side of the garden so she would stretch her legs a bit. She was so funny; two laps of the garden at top speed, some frantic scratting and scraping, a bit of cheese and a grape and straight back in - like a film on fast forward!

Oh Bless her they do make you laugh, she is a good little mother hen. Victoria was making boc boc boc noises this morning I had to oik (love that word)her out of the coop yesterday afternoon. I have had stern words with her but she don't care just goes about with her beak in the air.

Haha, I love it when they are like that!

Weather today...when I went for my walk it was the hardest rain ever and thunder so loud I almost went deaf (this all started after i'd gone too far to turn back, obviously)...now I'm at home it's as sunny as anything, would you believe it :-\

CC, how many eggs are left that Livia is sitting on? I only have one egg in the incubator that is developing. It's one of the white silkies..at least I may finally get one chick..my little blue splash hen died today..the rooster hurt her and she never recovered. Now I have a rooster with no mate..I think I'll just find a new home for him, I don't want to get another splash hen for him to be mean to..he doesn't deserve a new girl.

She's on 3...as long as the squirrel didn't get any more today, little sod. It's not as if I don't feed them, they get peanuts every day!

It's been a lovely day but I was stuck inside screwing down squeaky floorboards - couldn't find right screws so had to go to town to buy some.

Have you been boiled today as well??

It's been that horrible sort of hot up here, where it's all humid and muggy...looks like it's gonna belt it down now though which will clear the air - here's hoping for a thunderstorm, as long as it doesn't blow the rest of the lecky in the house! :)

It was horrible here. The rain was lashing down but it was warm too. Really muggy and humid. Wish it had thundered - that would've cleared the air a bit.
