You are completely right Ollie, and your mom sounds fascinating NannyN, I bet she had a story or two to tell.

Goldie Corn's tail is fantastic in that first picture, and Lady Jane Grey is outstanding!

Your cats are all wonderful! So pretty and handsome. I'm glad you were able to give Daisy a home and gain her trust.

And your granddaughter is a stunner! Such a sweet face! I bet she's got her nanny wrapped around her finger!

Yes, my son and his daughter are too, though she will pick her granddad over anyone else most times! I find it fascinating to watch her too, and we frequently say that we don't remember our kids doing what she does. I think its just that we were too busy being mom and dad to be able to stop and take it in.

Thank you both, It was a shame with the hens bedtime picture as the Amber hen on the end had it's wing over the golden one as if she was giving it a cuddle. I rushed in and got my camera and got my hubby to hold the torch, He insisted on taking the photo and I had to hold the torch so with the all the to do we lost the picture opportunity. He didnt get all of the hens in either so poor things were dazzled unnessesarily.

Hello init, I don't know about a detective hen as such, mind you they are good at detecting when there is something tasty to be had and to hide right quick when the hawk comes avisiting. I got some cheap ham offcuts from Asda yesterday for them I had quite a decent bag of it for ten pence. They soon detected that when I went out to tidy their house. Ha ha

Do you know Red I was ages trying to get a picture of those fish I even gave them a slice of bread and they just thrashed the water about ripping it all to shreds instead of eating it nicely. I took that many pictures and none of them were much good. Now today while I was out there minus camera they were all so well behaved coming over to see me. Typical isn't it ha ha

Thank you Kateb I have three that have to use the summer house for their daily airings. The Main's and Kimmi who is my rag doll. I do let Kimmi and Sootz into to garden for a gallop about under strict supervision. Kimmi wont jump or climb but Sootz is game for anything so I have to watch him like a hawk. Sylvi jumps at her own shadow and won't come when I call her she gets into a blind panic so I dare not let her into the garden at all.

I was looking on the PDSA site in Milton Keynes yesterday. thought I might see if they have an older cat that is happy to have just one owner and happy to be left alone in the day time, although I'm sure my Mum would come round to check on it if I asked her.
They did have some lovely cats on there and I feel I'd rather give a home to an elderly (like me) cat.
will keep looking though and will get a cat as soon as I'm able to see.
I also looked on the Ragdoll sites and Maine Coone sites. expensive....

I will keep looking because I have time to choose. If in the meanwhile you hear of anyone not wanting a Maine Coone or a Ragdoll please let me know. I don't mind if I have to drive somewhere pick up the cat.

It is such a shame as last year the lady I got my Maincoons from died and her hubby was giving the cats away to good homes I wished I could have had them all

It's the non-breeds who need the homes, Shobhna. Have you tried Blackberry Farm near Oving? I got my rabbit from there, but they have dogs and cats and things too. Also the Blue Cross at Tetsworth near Chinnor.

I think its wonderful that you want to take on an older cat - they always get overlooked in favour of kittens. I am sure there are re-homing places for ragdolls - there are for most breeds - but again, as they are popular breeds its hard to get them! Keep looking - you might find a looky-likey!

Saw a Mother Duck and babies crossing Marlborough Street (V8) in Milton Keynes a few weeks agos.
A 70MPH dual carriageway road and surprisingly the cars stopped for mother duck to get across with her babies.
this world is full of good people. :-)

Thank you for your kind comments, the duck was flirting with a seagull of all things. The poor old drake was just sitting there having a snooze.
I love sea gulls, they are such show offs and seem to have a real sense of fun. I take loads of photos of them !! Although it would be awful if they were that big Trev's Mum, it is bad enough when they poop on you as it is Ha ha.
Sootz was having a rest he had been having a game of ball and his usual climb the apple tree... oh no I am stuck routine. He is such a happy boy.
