You would be more than welcome both of you. It is Sootz and Sylvi's birthdays today they are four now so will stop growing at last. They had their birthday king prawns last night and dont know but I have saved one each for tonight as well. I had to give them to them early as they knew I had them and pestered the life out of me. I have to cut them up small now as poor Sylvi has only her front teeth and can not chew to easy. The others pig theirs down and then want to steal hers poor girl. It is worse than feeding the lions by hand, they get so excited.

I like prawns and sometimes have 'em with just pepper & vinegar and brown bread and butter. And as soon as I sit down to eat them, two cats each pull up a chair and accusingly watch every mouthful...

We have to shut ours in the consevatory when we have them. We would probably have lip piercings when they try to force our jaws open. They are gentle cats untill it comes to prawns. They like crab sticks as well... but they are welcome to those as they turn my stomach just thinking of them.

Hi there Kate, The vet advised removing them a couple of years ago as she had bad gums. It is something that some Maine coons suffer from apparently. We tried treating it with anti biotics first but that didn't work. Her mouth is fine now and she has no sorness anymore. She is left with her front upper and lower teeth as she needs them to eat and for defence. They just have to be descaled every so often. She eats well but just can not chew very quickly.

    Cats vs. Men
A cat never comes home drunk after being out all night with friends.
You can stroke a cat without automatically being expected to have sex.
When a cat comes in at midnight it doesn't wake you up by smashing into the furniture.
Cats never pretend they know how to fix what's broken.
Your cat doesn't care what size your boobs are.
Cats will love you even when you have bad hair days.
Cats love rubbing up to your legs no matter how much cellulite you have.
Men can't be neutered if they stray.
It's okay if your cat rubs up against the guests in your home.
You never have to spend time with your cat's mother.
A cat is never late for dinner.
Cats love to see you come home from shopping with lots of bags!
You'll never get a call from you cat's ex.
Your cat will never leave you for a younger women.
A cat can't fake loving you.
Cats actually think with their heads.

I was making a fuss of Amber hen as she loves being picked up and fussed. I put her back down took three steps and there was Daisy so I bent down to fuss her little head and Amber rushed over and pecked poor Daisy real hard she even had fur in her beak. Little begger was jealous, poor Daisy she was real upset as she didn't know what she had done wrong.

Look at the lovely new bit of shell Fluffy has grown since we got him. It is almost half an inch worth. Sootz was out in the summer house so Fluffy was able to come out and have a look around. He had been burrowing so he has a bit of peat on his shell. There are also drops of water on him, again nothing to worry about that came from me wetting my hand so he would come off the side of his vivarium comfortably.

Hi CC, I was fair close it wanted to peck me I think as it had a good solid stare and was surprised to get one back so was unsure as to what to do.

I thought Fluffy may have been doing that Titanic thing in the corner there. I gave him a large flower off one of my courgette plants and he became real animated and inquisitive. I think he had seen the bowl of oranges and limes waiting to be turned into marmalade he seems to like colour.

I never thought a great deal about snails till I had him. I knew they scrunched when trodden on which is what I used to do in the garden, but I feel awful doing that now so just leave them be or drop them over the back fence for a holiday in the rough stuff !!!

    Rat pics

Very cute. I like the one where the big hand is passing them the little rat, and the rat has one paw on the toy rat and the other on the finger...awww.

Being an owner of rats, I just can't imagine how she gets such marvellous pictures! Mine are all blurred or of rattie bums disappearing because they've seen the camera appear!

It's the same with my pets - Domino is just about the only animal who doesn't mind having her pic taken and will stay still enough for them to not be blurred :)

Kate, don't rats have the most amazingly delicate sweet little paws. These are really beautifull pics, just warms the heart.

Took this at Rufford she only had one hatch and was real proud of it. I couldn't believe she brought it so close to me. It was just so cute

Thank you Red. Rufford park is a lovely place and the birds are very friendly. I usually take a pocket full of layers pellets with me which is very popular with them all even the squirrels like it !!! I loved the eye in the butterfly

Thank you CC, my camera is a cast off one from grandad North. He got a big new posh thing that you have to put all different lenses on. I think he wished he hadn't given it to me now as my pictures turn out just as good or dare I say if not better than his. I usually take my camera with me where ever I go as I never know what I might come across that is interesting

You are a great photographer - you should save them up and get them published, they're as good as any professional ones I've seen. That signet is adorable.

You could find your 12 best and make a calendar out of them, you can upload them somewhere on the internet and then they send you the finished calendar.

How close were you to the swan? In my experience they get stroppy if you get close to the cygnets...and it looks as though you were up close & personal!

That is a good idea Tracy I do have a programme on my PC with all the templates for calenders and collages, I will have to have a look at it when I get a spare moment.

I was very close CC I had been hand feeding the mother swan and the baby was right near my feet, as I said before I was surprised she let it come so close. The birds there are all used to people though and willingly come out of the water to see what food you have for them !!

I do find that if you have a bit of time, patience and food in your pocket they will come to you. I ususally get down to their level so I am not such a threat to them and chat away. They are more confident if you are not scared of them. I have been pecked a couple of times, but hey ho it only hurts for a few minutes. I guess being used to animals all my life helps as they all like to come and say hello.

Ha ha it would have pecked my lip off..... nice to have them close but still have to remember that they are wild animals and swans are very strong and could hurt you a lot. Thank you for your kind comment on the photos.

True, swans can break yer arm with their wings...

Canadian geese at St Ives, I've fed them bread from my mouth before. T'was a dare, also fed them off my head but they just pecked at my hair and caused me a great pain instead :rolling:

They're very cute though...i love canadian geese.
