This will give you some idea of how they trust me especially when I have food to share Ha ha. Second picture is the one I took afer the chips had all gone

I like seagulls. I know people say they are pests, but they're feathers are always so white and they look perfect - like they're not real. Here's my seagull picture, taken in the Isle of Man last year.

Actually Hubby IS right.. there are many types of gulls (thats two L's - for future reference :) ).

Seagull or Sea Gull is an informal name as gulls tend to be near seas/oceans/lakes. Of course they LOVE humans - who leave all sorts of trash around for them to eat..just check out a garbage dump and you'll see them.. they are opportunistic carivores..

    Opportunistic gull

I can remember there was a man just up the road from my granny and he had goats. They were lovely and they just loved clambering about on top of their shed and they would dance and prance about happy as anything. They adored an audience. I have always liked goats how lucky you were to actually have some for yourself.

Could have been a rat after some free food. Rat enamel is one of the strongest natural substances known. They can chew through concrete so a bit of chicken wire would be a doddle to them. I can not make out where the hole is on the picture but a fox would most certainly have a go if it could tear the wire away. I too hope your hens are all ok Sara.

We took the Grand children to visit the cap house coal mine near Wakefield, it is a great place to go as you get to go down the pit itself. It isn't rushed either you are down there for aprox an hour. I have been several times now. The boys loved it and we got them a certificate to say they had been down pit !!!

On the way we passed the tower at Emley moor there was a good mist and the tower looked as if it was floating above ground and looked well bizarre.

Hey NN. Didn't know you were in my local country, I'm only a few miles from Wakefield (well comparative to the distances of some of Hencam folks)

Just missed out a visit up this tower when I belonged to an Amateur Radio Club and one of our members was an engineer up there. Some problems with foreign sabateurs put a ban onto visitors just as we were arranging a trip.

However I have flown a circuit around this tower in a helicopter belonging to a pal!

Used to live in full view of it but we moved down the other side of the hill and can't see it any more.
When we are away and then it comes into view "we feel we are home now".

Thats a shame Ollie can you imagine the view from the top on a fine day, you can probably see the curvature of the earth it is huge!! It always looks as if you are so close to it as well. but when you are at the bottom of it it is simply amazing. We tracked it down once just to see if it was possible to visit, but as you say it was a no no. We always have land marks that makes us feel almost home as well. We do get about the country a fair bit as we love our days out instead of holidays nowadays.

That's an amazing picture! Almost UFO-like! Going down the pit sounds like an excellent trip for your grandsons, I bet they loved it. My boys would've enjoyed that when they were little. I didn't know there was anywhere like that - not sure I'd like it, I'm slightly claustraphobic. Not enough to have a panic attack, but enough to feel uncomfortable!

Glad you liked the photo Kate it was real eerie to see it.
More adults seem to go down the pit than children or have done each time I have been there which is rather a lot. It isnt too bad once you go down. I think the bit you would dislike most is the ride to the bottom in the cage as you have to cram in real tightly and it takes two minutes. I will see if i can find their website....... http://www.ncm.org.uk/ .........I hope that works ok itis well worth a look

We went to RAF Cosford near Telford Shropshire today. It was a cracking day out and was a big place with plenty to see and free to get in. On the way there I saw this rather unfortunate tractor. There were two more trying to pull it out. We came home a slightly different way so I dont know if they managed it or not.

Hi Lee yes that's Sylvi on the screen and Sootz on the dresser, they are brother and sister. The nurse is my mother, thats my Dad in the middle and Aurelia my granddaughter when she was real small. The cross stitch picture is one I made of my ragdoll cat Schuie who died of cancer, bless him.

No thats not a paw it is a little toy that had a bendable tail. It is a sentimental thing to me and the cats all crave after it, Thats probably why Sylvi is up there trying to dislodge it. Either that or she wants to get on top of the fridge freezer, she is a real climber and jumps like a mad thing she can jump from the back of my settee on to the top of the kitchen door about six foot.

So the picture on the wall of the ginger cat is Schuie and its cross stitch?! That's amazing - it looks like a photo!

Sootz is amazingly handsome with that lovely dark face. Sylvie looks like a pretty girlie cat - I can't imagine she's naughty at all! ;)

In america they sell false nails for cats! They are bright colours and slip over the cat's claws to stop them scratching things. I can just imagine what my cat would do to me if I tried to put them on her!

How do they think this stuff up. I wouldn't even think of embarrassing my cats and making such fools of them.

Yes I do love my hens. Lady Jane will look beautiful again soon she has some of her new feathers which are so lovely and the old ones look real dull and pale. They follow me around the garden watching my every move. I have to watch I don't tread on them. I did tread on Goldie's foot once and felt ever so sorry but she is a forgiving little soul and didn't let it bother her apart from a big squark when it happened.
