Ooh forgot to mention this, our girls LOVE couscous. They go crazy for it, and even eat the pepper in it which they normally refuse to touch :)

My rats love cous cous too. I get the basic stuff and mix it with some boiling water and they can't eat it fast enough!

Anyone know what's in Layer's Pellets? I only ask because my rabbits are tucking in like good 'uns and I just wanted to make sure there was nothing chemically in them. They seem to be working; 2 eggs in the rabbit hutch this morning...

I am not sure what is in the layers pellets CC but I know my sons guinea pigs eat them and they are all fit and healthy I don't know that he gets eggs in the guinea pigs hut though. He keeps the banties and guinea's together in a real big pen, they do have seperate huts but still share them.

    Barley
    Wheat
    Lupins
    Lucerne hay
    Molasses
    Bentonite
    Limestone (calcium)
    Dicalcium Phosphate
    Vitamin and Mineral Premix
    Ash

Tends to be the general consensus. Some have added animaly bits in that you might want to check for...mind you I found that in my mouse food once and was horrified :ack2:

Does it say on the pack anywhere?

Ah. Hmmmmm. Could you ask 'em?
We get ours from a feed store and it comes in a papery type bag with the ingredients on it - i can't imagine it'd have anything harmful in it though

No-one is showing any signs of illness. And there was another egg in the rabbit hutch today, so they obviously work...

I think they give things similar to layers pellets out at petting farms anyway...

Mmmmm. Sounds like the ingredients of a (slightly frightening) budget muesli.

ha ha .... 've never really understood museli. I think its one of those things I'd only eat if there was nothing else left.

but then I'm not very good a soggy cereals. I normally have to have them in a bowl with the milk seperate. Bring back memory of being in hospital, they'd give you cereals and I swear they' put the milk on 20 minutes for in the kitchen that was miles away from the wards.

Muesli IS the stuff that's left on the floor after they've finished making all the other cereals and budgie foods. They sweep it up and put it in boxes and some people buy it. But not me!

I don't know what got into my girls last night. I took them out their supper it was just oats and finely sliced chinese leaves. I was washing the evening meal dishes and could see them from the window munching it, when all of a sudden they had a right good fight. Goodness knows what it was about but they all pitched into each other. Grandad North was so worried and ran outside saying come on girls thats enough. I nearly wet myself laughing as they stopped straight away and then carried on scrapping as soon as they hear the door close behind him. They are all sorted out now and no one was injured. I think it was a change of pecking order.
