    Keeper of the hens

Wasn't really sure where to put this, but thought you all might like to know.

I'm guessing most of you are aware who Lottie is, and that she was pregnant (if not, go to the 'Lamb' section of the hencam main page and it explains who she is!) Well, sadly Lottie had a prolapse and the two lambs she had been carrying died, born two weeks premature.

One of them died instantly, and the other survived for a week before giving up the battle.

Although it's very sad, I'm just relieved Lottie is still here as it was apparantly touch-and-go with her for a while. This happened a few weeks ago, but Dan didn't want to give us more bad news after things with my nana, so I only found out a few days ago.

Hopefully Lottie will make a full recovery and go on to have more lambs next year.

    Keeper of the hens

Thanks for the kind messages everyone :)

Yes, they're almost sure she will be fine. The fact that she has had a prolapse means there is an increased chance it will happen again, but hopefully she will be able to have lambs again next year without complications! Patch, another mummy sheep in the field with Lottie, also had a prolapse, and Dan was wondering if it is because of irresponsible dog walkers letting their dogs scare the sheep...thankfully Patch has made a full recovery and her babies survived.

Dan was trying to get Lottie to 'adopt' another lamb, but she sniffed at it and when she saw it wasn't hers she wouldn't feed it :(

Poor Lottie-tots, i want to give her a big hug :bighug:

Sorry to hear, and a shame she wouldn't adopt. Hopefully things will work in her favor next year.
