    That tale reminds me of a joke;
Passengers watch i horror as two pilots tap their way accross the tarmac to the 'plane, ascend the steps ad go into the cockpit. They start to laugh nervously and decide it's just pilots having a laugh. The takeoff begins, and they're thundering along the tarmac getting closer and closer to the end of the runway. Realising that they're running out of runway, all the passengers start to scream and the nose of the 'plane suddenly lifts and they're up and away. All the passengers laugh with relief. In the cockpit, one blind pilot turns to the other and says 'You know, one day they'll scream too late...'

A lady goes to the doctor and the nurse leaves her on the exam table . After waiting for the doctor to come, she gets sleepy and covers up with the sheet and goes to sleep. The doctor comes in an hour later and says to the lady, " It must be nice to have time to take a nap. " The lady says to him, " Well just make yourself a doctor's appointment and you too will have time to take a nap. ":fingersear:

    Keeper of the hens

I was out sunbathing earlier with the chucks and had fallen asleep sprawled on the grass. Milly walked over and started pecking at me, doing that thing where she scrapes her beak across me like when they're digging for bugs in the dirt.

I told her to go away and flapped my hand at her, but she wouldn't stop so i woke up properly and sat up. She immediately walked right up, climbed onto my legs and settled down for a sunbathe before promptly falling asleep.

How unfair is that?! :-\ :D

    Wow guessing so! :)

Okay, me and Milly were weeding the flags outside our house on the lane / road.

As it got nearer to six o clock more people started walking or driving past us after they'd finished work. All of them stopped to stare, even those in cars, at the girl and the chicken picking the weeds from the path :rolling:

AND THAT'S WHEN THE FIGHT STARTED....

My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.

    She asked, 'What's on TV?'

    I said, 'Dust.'

And that's when the fight started....

    ............................................

I asked my wife, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?"

It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation.

"Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.

So I suggested, "How about the kitchen?"

And that's when the fight started....

    .............................................

A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies.

Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from
outside. The woman, bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at
the man 'Holy Crap. That must be my husband!' So the man jumped out of

the bed; scared and naked jumped out the

window. He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and
to his car as fast as he could go. A few minutes later he returned and
went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, 'I AM your husband!'
The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'
    And
    that's when the fight started....

    ............................................

I tried to talk my wife into buying a case of Molson Canadian for
    $24.95.

Instead, she bought a jar of face cream for $17.95.

I told her the beer would make her look better at night than the face
    cream..

And that's when the fight started....

    ...........................................

A woman was standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror.

She was not happy with what she saw and said to her husband, 'I feel
horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a
    compliment.'

The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect.'

And that's when the fight started....

    ............................................

I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my

order first. "I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please."

He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?""

Nah, she can order for herself."

And that's when the fight started....

    ...........................................

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I

kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at
a nearby table. My wife asked, 'Do you know her?' 'Yes,' I sighed,
    'She's my old girlfriend.

I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many
years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.' 'My God!'
said my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that
    long?'

And that's when the fight started....

    ...............................................

    ...........................................

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace
expensive... so, I took her to a gas station. And that's when the fight
    started....

    ..................................................
    ..................................

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming
    anniversary.

She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3
seconds. I bought her a bathroom scale. And that's when the fight
    started....

    ....................... ................................

One year, a husband decided to buy his mother-in-law a cemetery plot
as a Christmas gift. The next year, he didn't buy her a gift.
When she asked him why, he replied, "Well, you still haven't used the
gift I bought you last year!"

And that's how the fight started.....

Yo - its a CARTOON! :P And, anyway, what about Americans portrayed on Brit TV? Like *As Time Goes By* - when Lionel is having his questionable book made into a questionable film. The American film makers made my skin crawl. LOL. Although, its amazing, isn't it, when a person from one country plays a person from another, IN that 2nd country and you can't tell? Like the lead doctor on ... oh shoot. Can't remember the title of it. :)

Are they grey coloured? How thick are they? If they're a couple of inches thick and a grey colour and v.v.hard, they might be York stone, which costs a bomb. In which case, have it relaid in the centre of the patio and edge the patio with a complementary/contrasting colour stone/concrete.

I'm having my garden landscaped and paying lots of money - but we've been here 2 years and neither of us has the inclination to do it so its money well spent. We'd saved it for a conservatory but then decided we didn't want one so are spending half! My gardeners are lovely, doing an excellent top quality job and making great suggestions. I'll post pics when its finished. Here's a 'before' shot ...

    Keeper of the hens

I have a story that will make you laugh...I was sat outside in the sun just now eating my dinner (vegan cheese sarnie with lettuce) and the chickens were out free-ranging in the bottom of the garden, and Domino was out up at the top.

Anyway, I was munching half my sarnie when Domino skipped right up to me. She sniffed hello and seemed to be in a remarkably good mood, so i gave her a friendly poke and watched to see where she would go...she went straight over to my sandwich and started nibbling the crust :glare:

I figured she's old and deserved it so left her to half the sandwich and some of the salad. Anyway, I ran and grabbed the camera so here is Doms eating my lunch! :)

Like everyone else, I'm excited to see the gardener's progress. :) And then, the usual fantastic pics from Red. :D And then, CC - if you were meaning to speak to any Merkins - you just asked Reddie if she has ever eaten Domino on a Jacob's cracker...

Noo, I meant tried her on as in fed her on. Further complicated by the fact that a merkin cracker is a biscuit...:)

Kate wanted me to let everyone know that she is really busy with Caitlyn and supervising the gardeners at the moment. She asked me to post this update for her:

    Photobucket

And to ask if anyone is familiar with this breed of chicken. They showed up over night. The good news is - She's keeping them!

Here's today's picture. They had to wait until 10.30 for the sleepers to be delivered, but they've done the steps and the wall - just need to fix down the top sleepers. I am praying that the slabs arrive tomorrow otherwise it'll be a wasted day.

Ah, the rare BBB's! I knew CC would be able to identify them. Too bad about the grass. I assume they are worth it though.

That's an hilarious cartoon, NN :)

Kate - you are getting all this done for half the price of a conservatory? Nice.

*Shakes head in consternation.* If you feed her on a cracker - she is sitting on the cracker while you feed her. If you want her to consume a cracker, you say: I fed a cracker to her. Geez. A cracker is a flat vaguely tasteless thing. A biscuit is a fairly sugarless muffin-like thing. A cookie is a flat sugary thing.

It occurs to me that its a good thing that CC and I aren't trying to fatten up a chicken to plug a whole in a boat we are all in and keep it from sinking. We'd all be dead. :)

That, Diane, is the mystical "rotary clothes dryer". When we have nice sunny weather with a bit of a breeze I occasionally peg my washing out. I had to leave it in the hole so that we could find the hole again afterwards!!!!

PS this is cheaper than a conservatory!

No photo today - weather is appalling and slabs hadn't arrived so they finished early (finished fixing down the sleepers and spread some hardcore around). Slabs got here about 10 minutes ago and caused havoc in the road as none of the neighbours could get to their houses!!!

Nope, never tried her with a Jacob's cracker, shall have to give it a go!

I gave her bilberries for the first time today, which she really enjoyed. I was shocked that she ate the vegan cheese before the lettuce or bread - I really didn't expect her to like that! :)

Nobody has ever left me a clothes dryer. :( I have china and silver ware, and furniture (which Winnie destroyed), and a little cast iron table with four beautiful tiles in it (that I destroyed) from my grandparents. My yard bunny is named Ethel. For the same Ethel.

A graham cracker is rectangular, comprised mostly of whatever graham is (Lynn will know), and, yes, sugary - so much for my attempt at an explanation...

They should be finished tomorrow. Just some slabbing to do (in the corner where you can't see!), a bit still to do round the shed, and some 'grouting' on the slabs (don't know what else to call it!) It looks HUGE in this photo - and the grass is like a football pitch!!
