I have 2 each of cats, rabbits, & chickens, one husband, no brats. I'm a self-employed piano tuner but also play the organ in churches and do music accompaniment for exams/concerts.

I would probably say exactly the same... do I know her?

No use trying to get them to come before they and your body are ready. This is where the modern method of inducing when you get to "That Date" really gets women into bother.

What's wrong with standing up anyway, gravity has a big pull!!! Stand, kneel, anything. Just listen to your body and do what it is telling you. Trust...

    My 2p worth.

I work in IT. Am too old to mention my age to anyone...

Have a bright yellow MX5 that I call my grin factor 10 car.

In my past life, I used to have cats and loved being owned by them, necssary changes should be happening very soon and then getting a couple of old moggies that need peace and quiet.

Have a lovely garden and love pooting about and talking to the plants.

No children, wanted a couple of them years ago, now I don't do children. Like CC....all will be left to a cat's Home.

Looking after Mum who looks after me. :-)

Learning to do challanges all the time. Some higher being likes to send them my way often enough these days.

Oh and I forgot...I live in the land of roundabouts. Milton Keynes

lovely car and it is all mine....
car was names General Custard by me because of it's yellow colour and when I bought it, it was a 'he' and not a 'she' so I had to give him a name accordingly.

I had GC out yesterday for a couple of hours. Got my Grin Factor 10 back. :-)

I once had a yellow car. A Datsun Cherry, now known as Nissans.

A front windscreen banner showed he was called "Yella Cherry" and I had a huge cb (citizens band radio) ariel on the back.
The name was an invitation to give me a "shout" on the radio.

I moved on from this phase to take exams and legal radio amateur radio licenses.

Don't bother, if your body isn't ready don't muck about with it, you'll just end up in bother.

Curry isn't nice if your pukeing it all over the midwife.

Cohash and stuff like that must only be given by qualified practitioner.

Castor oil is guaranted to give you the gripes - labour can be bad enough without that too.

I could go on.. you can tell I am urging you to sit back and wait, you're nearly there...

Book me in for big cuddle when Dennis arrives.

Private midwives charge from £3000 a case. That's all in. No matter how early or late booked. Includes unlimited visits, staying as long as needed. The Birth. Also very frequent visits for at least six weeks after.

Unfortunately, I have let my licence lapse and getting it back now would be very complicated.

The other two times i saw another midwife..

    Ive had a 12wk scan, 2owk scan.
If i wanted another 1 id have to pay..

I haven't visited the hospital, nor have i been asked any details about what i want to happen at the birth.
I do feel nhs don't care about you after you have had a child they seem to think the next one. no matter how long ago will be fine..

Maternity care seems to have been cut right back - my son's partner didn't get half as much as I did with my kids. The midwife only came out to the house once. I had her every day for the first week, then every other day, then the health visitor took over.

Sara, Why not write down what you want to happen at the birth = a "Birth Plan".
Put it in your notes, you can add things to those too.

Remember that you have to give permission to everything that is done to you and your baby. To have explained disadvantages as well as advantages. Then you can make a judgement.

Don't worry about spaced out appointments. Possible means they are not worried about you. You can phone and make extra appointments with your midwife anytime. They are there to give you a service.

Sorry if this thread has changed topic but I only just found it.
For those that are unfamiliar with me....

    I live in Australia
I am the son of Trevs Mum
I do not currently have any animals living in captivity at my home
But I do like animals (captivated and wild)
    I am a Mechanic
    I have a shaved head
    I am kind to insects
I like powdered instant mashed potato
I have been to Hencam in person
I have met Neil, Red, Milly, Tilly, Penny, James, CC, and Trevs Mum
I do not get presents on Father's Day
I drive a loud, large gas guzzling Ford V8
I used to have two pretty budgerigars in a cage
I like things that beep or flash
I think I should stop now

Yes, because the rain falls upwards so the leaves get the moisture instead of the spuds, see.

Geography was even worse. My entire knowledge of Australia could be summarised as 'merino sheep'.
And the rain falling upwards, obviously. That's why they all wear bicycle clips in the rain.

    Ha Ha spot on Kate.
Basically I am too lazy to cook properly for 1 person (that being me). I don't mind instant mash if a dollop of milk and a slither of butter is added to the mix.
I have also been known to heat up a tin of bolognaise and use 2 minute noodles, to make spaghetti bolognaise.

As long as you are fueling yourself up it don't matter hqtrev. You can always visit mum for a gut busting meal once a week or so

Exactly Kate! With me its usually microwavable dinners - which are quite good here..if you get the "expensive" kind. I haven't use my stove in - gosh - I don't know how long. I like to think of it as my contribution to the environment... I use a lot less electricity!! I CAN cook but...nah...beep-beep--beeeep.
