I made another video for you girls and boys! Our chicks are now a couple of months old and quite able to fend for themselves. We've also restricted all our hens to a moderate section of the garden now as I'm fed up with the daily clear-up job on the patio!

Anyway, what happens if you give seven chooks one large piece of ham? This! Enjoy :)

That is truly delightful Goosegog, I really enjoyed it they are so comical. How the banties have grown, have they got themselves sorted out now ? They sure do like their ham.

    We have comedy chickens :)
Yeah the little ones seem to have had a good week. What they lack in size they make up for in speed! They still don't hand-feed from humans though

You have done well with them all, Banties are not so laid back as the large hens I find. When I had mine they were friendly but not to the point of being picked up willingly for a fuss like the large type of hen.

No, they squeal "Murder! Murder! Murder!" when we pick them up. That's what it sounds like anyway. They're great fun to corner and force petting and love upon them. They still don't like that - heh heh!

Ha ha I bet, they are so fast as well. I can remember Tim was always accidently letting mine out when he went to check for eggs. It was hell trying to get them all back into their pen. We had a big old battery hen back then as well, She was wonderful and loved fuss and would willingly get on your lap for a fuss. She had the freedom of the garden and her own house but used to share the kennel with the dog. He didnt mind and they had a real friendship together it was lovely to see.

She loved Jay and would ride along on the handlebars of his trike. We all sobbed our hearts out when she died. We had her for several years so at least she did have a happy life with us.
