First off Sara well done with the baby bird it is cute and so is little Arthur. It does look like a thrush. Do you have an animal rescue place near you that could take it and look after it? Might be able to find out at the vets, you could ring them and explain your situation with baby due.
Secondly well done with the photos , you just got to learn how to resize them. Do you have Paint shop pro on your PC ? thats what I use. If not maybe someone could help you do it the first time.

I know what you mean they shouldn't as it is a song bird. We have a man round our way who helps stranded and injured wild life He is known as the hedgehog man localy. He was everso good when a swan got exhausted and flew into a wire and came down near a busy road not far from my house. He stopped all the traffic while he rescued it and then nursed it back to full health before he released it again.

    Algernon Trust: 01327 858238 or 07977 555238
    Bird Rescue Northampton: 01604 591929

I can't vouch for either of them, as I don't live in Northampton or even the UK but they may be able to give you info or somewhere else to try.

Diamond Geezer, Jonny! And don't forget there's St Tiggywinkle's, the wildlife teaching hospital at Haddenham near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

I recall trying to save a bird when I was young - it seemed to be doing OK the first day or two, but then quickly died. I really would recommend getting someone to take it off your hands if you can. DON'T give it bread or milk - neither of them are good for baby birds.

Your kids are lovely - so good looking! Is your daughter still in her goth phase?!

Good luck with the bird and the contact numbers you've been given. If all else fails the RSPCA / RSPB might be able to put you in touch with someone.

Anyone past 16 is past it all when you're 14. And they hate you, of course. And everyone's looking at you. And nobody understands you...God, I'd hate to go through all that again!

I completely understand how you feel Sara, I've cried over so many animals. But you did your best and that's the important thing. A lot of people would've just left it out in the garden to die. It knows what you did for it.

Oh Sara I cry over things like that as well. But the thing is you did everso well keeping it alive so long. It is everso hard to rear a tiny bird that has been caught by a cat, it often is the delayed shock that weakens and finally kills them.

It was my husbands idea to get chickens, as he had them as a child, He said he never named them, He said if he had know that i would treat them like my children he would never of got them, As he wanted to eat them. HOW DARE HE EVEN THINK THAT.

    I love my girls..
