I have started to knit myself a hugh big shawl to go with my yellow Mazda.
I have not knitted for so many years and it feels strange to have knitting needles in my had. I'm not going very ambitious because i cannot even remember half the stuff I knew aobut knitting. will just make a hugh big square shawl and will decorate it with embroidered on bees. The rate at which I knit will mean I will finish it this time next year. :-)

For some unknown reason, I feel like want to take up curtain making and the rest...again !! I did so much sewing that I really did get to a point where I loved buying ready made..now a days, I look at the price of clothes in shops and it makes me want to go back to sewing.

CC, it will be a bright yellow shawl when I finish though no one should take bets on how long it will take. I find that the old arthritic fingers are a bit achy and I can't knit fast anyway.
Yes, I will be on the look out for little felt bees (I'm sure I have seen these in craft shops) which I want to sew on to this shawl.

I'm beginning to have a liking for bees and bumble bees all kinds of bees and I have started talking to the bees in the greenhouse too.

Next visit, I will remind you to show me your glass bumble bee. :-)

I saw a hornet today. It was HUGE!!! We were concerned it was going to get into the office so I googled them. There are a lot of myths around them. Their sting is less potent than a normal bee, but there is something in it that stimulates the nerve endings making it more painful. At this time of year the queens are challenged by usurpers (sp?) so may be looking for new nests.

Bees are in decline so they are trying to encourage people to keep them. It is said that if the bee disappears then we are in trouble as they do the pollenating of all our crops and without that - no crops, no harvest, no food.

The edge has piping along it (hand made!) and then the material at the back was stitched to the blanket. The running stitch and french knots are then sewn to fix the back to the front. The loose material should act like an air pocket and add warmth.

    Ah Kate---
The first baby is the one where you over-do every thing.
The second is brought up on an overdose of neglect.
It isn't until the third, when you have been to both extremes that you can settle back and really enjoy this baby!

Think of families with three or more children. How well balanced is that third child. I even suspect that a number of Hencamers are third babies, it's that kind of thing....

That's a complicated one TM!! When my mom got married my stepfather had 5 kids; his daughter was the eldest, then there were four boys. I fitted right in the middle of the four boys, one was 6 months older, one was 6 months younger. They were allowed to do whatever they wanted, I had to be in by 10pm. I hated it.

It is very difficult having plants and flowers in the house with Maine coon cats. They pull the flowers out of the vase and then splash about in the water. I dont know if I have mentioned it before they even paddle in their drinking water. So I made myself these fake flowers last week and thought you might care for a look at them.

Thank you both, I get polystyrene egg shapes from the craft shop and then it is just folded squares of fabric pinned on to them with some leaves from some fabric holly bunches pinned on and then I stuff a stick through the middle of them.... hey presto fake flowers. I have done the same before and put ribbons in the top to make hanging decorations.

Yes Main coons love water. Sootz favourite room is the bathroom. We have to tell guests to make sure the toilet seat is always put down as he isn't fussy where the water is as long as he can mess about in it. He is good fun when you have a bath though as he loves hooking the plactic ducks out and batting them back in as hard as he can. He don't worry about getting bubbles on his paws either.

I got the coasters done at last. Aurelia thinks they are all hers so when she comes we have to use the old ones as she commanders these and gets quite cross when any one touches them. Oh the joy of being two and every thing is mine !!! Oh the cat is done on cream fabric as I ran out of white.

Thank you for your kind comments. The lamb is Grandad Norths, the goose is Jays and I have the cow. The others are for when any one comes round then I can say you are the rabbit or cat.... makes it easier to locate your own coffee, well that was the idea, until Aurelia is here then she collects them up real quick and won't let any one have them. Luckily I kept the old ones.
