Lyle bought we a card making set for Christmas, and I haven't used it until the past few days. I love it, it's great fun! The pack includes lots of different little bits (handbags, butterflies, flowers etc) and you actually get to make them yourself.

    Here's a few I've made so far:

Thanks Lynn! I've never tried making cards before, but it was really fun! Do you make yours from scratch?

Lyle got me this set, you get to make all the little decorations yourself so you can mix and match them!

Beautiful piece of work. Lucky babe.

Took me 18months to hand knit a jumper for hubby, so I bought a knitting machine. Never touched a pair of needles since.
Long gone now though, it's much quicker to go down to the charity shop!

My word, she's off...! My niece crocheted me a splendid pair of purple jester's long-toed slippers for Christmas, complete with bells on the toes. The cat hates 'em! Crocheting seems easier than knitting to a numpty like me...is it?

It's quicker, but I find the patterns harder to follow and can't seem to count the stitches properly. A lot of the patterns I came across were charts, and there's something about left-handers having to reverse them so I need to do more work/research. Have chosen a knitted shrug - wool is ordered!!

Pink!! I'm not really a pink person, but my dress is blue with a multitude of flowers on (Caitlyn calls it my flower belly dress as they're centred on the tummy area), and my shoes are pink so it'll go with them. I was going to do blue but it'd have to match otherwise would look odd, and considered black but that won't go with anything else! (It's a bright, fuchsia pink!)

Cracking on with the shrug - just got to do the ribbing around the edge but have to pick up around 200 stitches and i've never done that before so am struggling. Took me all evening (4 hours, though I did stop to watch The Walking Dead in the middle) and I've only picked up three quarters of them so far so feeling a bit frustrated. It'll be OK though!

Did I ever post a picture of the shrug and the bag I made?

The Blanket III is finished!! I don't know if I posted that I was doing a Marvel Superheros blanket for Shaun. It's taken me ages! I was pleased with each character individuallly but a bit disappointed when I put them together. I had to back it to cover the threads and the dye ran, and I'm personally disappointed with the finish, but I'm sure Shaun will still like it. When I can get on the computer I'll shrink the photo size and post a couple of pictures.

Looking for my next project now ...

It was VERY traumatic! Making the individual characters was great - used a new type of crochet (Tunisian Crochet) but the tension on the first couple was LOADS tighter than on later ones, then I had to back it, and edge it ... won't be doing another one in a rush. (Hope Caitlyn doesn't ask for one now!)

Still can't decide on what to do next. It has to be something I can do reasonably quickly as I like to see the finished product quickly. Wondering about making gifts but doesn't seem the done thing nowadays. Found a nice scarf pattern but I don't need one. Might just crochet some balls for the cats to play with until I settle on something!

We have a DIY memory wall; we came up with special memories together, I drew some out, we backed them onto cardboard and then used cloth tape (which doesn't peel paint or make glass) to stick them to the underside of the stairs, right above where we sit!!
