    Hi All

Let me first thank you with all of my trials and tribulations of keeping 2 wonderful Hens.

Specs: sadly passed in July last year after 2 what can only be described as heart attacks in my arms from being egg bound.

Goldie: the hen with 10 lives who i have worried about since specs died, she has been egg bound time and time again, she has had me up at all hours, cooking her favorite foods and even bathing her much to her disgust. I thought she could have worms and took her to my local vet who although didnt know much about chooks had 4 of his own.

I took her tonight as she seemed to be getting worse not eating not really drinking and looking very down in the dumps, he examined her and said i could try antibiotics but didnt think she stood much of a chance, she looked tired and fed up and i didnt want her in pain anymore so i decided to have my gorgeous hen put to sleep so she could be out of pain and with her sister almost a year on.

I decided to taker Golide home after the dreaded injection so i could bury her along side her sister.

    The moral of this tale.......

My 2 beautiful girls lay to rest either side of each other, they are the most wonderful pets to have full of life, cheeky and so much character, it was a very hard decision to make but i couldnt have my girl in pain. I would have more in a heart beat but need time to heal.

Thank you all so much for being there and god bless to all of you that have loved and lost.

    Chickens Rule : )

Runny Poo over and out xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a beautiful eulogy Jo. You obviously loved her and Specs very much, and I am sure they loved you too. It is a very hard decision to make but quality of life is so much more important. Our thoughts are with you.

 Lots of love, Joanne. Perhaps one day you'll give a home to some other lucky hens who need your loving care.

Oh, Joanne, I am so sorry. Having lost Red this morning, it is awful but I still have my other 6 beautiful girls to cheer me up. Get more chickens, that's the remedy! Vxx
