    Keeper of the hens

Both myself and Helen had Friday off this week as I had to take my car to York to get the roof checked (sometimes it doesn't open fully), anyway, we decided to make a day of it and go shopping in York, it's a lovely place and we even had posh hot chocolate and cakes at Betty's Tea Room!

    Arriving in York:

Shopping (it felt like Christmas as we only ever seem to go there just before Christmas and they still had all the lights on in the trees!)

Afterwards, we decided on the spur of the moment to carry on to Scarborough, well, we were nearly half way there by then!

Some of the prizes in the '2p slots' penny-pushers were a bit... scary:

And there was some strange juxtaposition too!

It was freezing and blowing a gale, but it's still a lovely place, even at night:

Some of the shop displays were a bit perturbing too!

We went for late tea at 'Ask' on the seafront, and ended up paying £4.20 for a full meal because they messed up our pizza orders so we only had to pay for the 2 drinks we had! (pays to have someone good at whingeing!)

Arrived home very late, but very happy, a busy day doing nothing much really, but it was fun. :face-smile:

And I worked out I'd got 52+ MPG from my car, so was very happy with that (especially considering I was driving it 'spiritedly' and doing sports-starts at traffic lights until we hit the speed limit!)

Glad you had a good day out together Neil. I love York it is so interesting. Jay and I have walked all round the city walls a couple of times. There is a lovely railway museum there as well. It is a massive place free entry as well.
You did well getting you Pizza's for free. I bet you both had a good appetite as it was so bracing and fresh there.

First Jedward, now the Chuckle Brothers. I'm starting to worry about you. Although I suppose TCB's are far superior to Jedward, musically! :tooth:

The Chuckles are superior to many things, true geniuses of our time!
