Probably further afield. The area we're in isn't the best, but the houses are cheaper, it's convenient for work and shops etc, plus my eldest is only a few minutes away and it's easy for my other son to get to work/girlfriend's/kids house. There is a wood next door that the cats love too, and being in a cul-de-sac means they're safer. What I need is the same but somewhere else!!!

Do what my grandma once did - she moved across the road! or is there another road that backs onto the wood?

Hubby wouldn't agree to that - he wants to move away from this area. The house opposite ours had a party on Saturday night. It was still going at 4am. That's what people are like around here - selfish and inconsiderate. But then I suppose they are in most places nowadays.

It is very quiet lately isn't it!! I've got a few days off next week so can hopefully relax a little, but I've started a to-do list and it's very long and time consuming already! Hubby spends his time off doing nowt, I spend mine spring cleaning!!

I have been so busy with a house full yet again, also got a bad back to contend with yet again.... We were in Aldi and I saw a £1 coin on the floor so bent down to pick it up and back went I felt such a idiot. Of course G/N looked on the funny side of it and said no pain no gain, so I had to laugh !!! Got four days then Tims girls are over for another sleep over. Its all go here nowadays. Had to have a new front fence after the last lot of high winds we had.... now hoping that this storm don't take any of the back fence out, it was real bad here last night and is starting to pick up again tonight.

I'm still here, though only in cribs and drabs.
I wonder if the hens are still there?
Also what is happening to Red?

Hi there Ollie so good to hear from you again. I hope you are Keeping well. I don't know about the hens as the cam has been off for a good while now. Red has more bad days than good but still enjoys her pets and the occasional day out, Lyle is such a star caring for her and the pets when she is unable to. latest news is the landlord has agreed to let her have a stair lift which will help her enormously.

Maybe the cost of running the camera has got too much for Neil, or perhaps it's broken and he doesn't want to replace it.
I hope Red can pop back in at some point to say hi. Has she seen a consultant about her POTS yet?

Having never heard of POTS before, I now find my niece's husband's future sister in law (are we keeping up at the back??) has the same thing.
I hope Neil can pop in now and then for a chat to tell us how life is...
Looking into getting some Sebright hens...fingers crossed I can find some. So far 2 emails have met with no response. :face-sad:

Oh those are the ones with feathers that look like they've been outlined with a black marker pen aren't they?! Have you still got the rabbit or did he fall foul (excuse the pun) of the fox or old age?

Fred rabbit had to be put down as he wrecked his back and would have needed 6 - 8 months confinement and even then might not have got better. The night we came home with the empty carrier, Roger would NOT go to bed and shot through the cat flap (now aka the rabbit flap) and took up residence under the trolley in the music room. She goes out to the loo and to wander about for a bit, but other than that, that's it; we now have a house rabbit. She's seven this year - or perhaps six, nobody can remember. Just as well she's a house rabbit now as Eric leant on the hutch to do something and the roof caved in.
Still no reply from the poultry people. Makes me cross.:tearhair::cursing::rant_red2::_oh_really:

So sorry to hear about Fred CC, that is just amazing how Roger decided to be a house rabbit aren't animals amazing the way they adapt and make the most of a situation is mind blowing. I did have to smile about poor Eric leaning on the hutch that's just the sort of thing that happens to me.

The poultry people obviously don't need your money CC, I love you description of them Kate. They are beautiful hens xx

I'm still here once in a while, but not much activity going on. Neil doesn't come in here at all. He doesn't say much on Facebook either. I do hope the hens are alright.

Hello everybody, Lyle here. Red mentioned that NN had said people on the forum has been asking about them. I said I'd log in to post an update, as I know it'd be too much for Dally to manage.

Thanks for asking about Dally & checking up on them though. And thank you for your kind words about me NN. We both appreciate it :face-smile: Dally is their usual level of 'very bad' now, which is unfortunately normal for us. They're very limited in what they can do, and are bedbound much of the time. We try get out once or twice a week if we can with Dally using their wheelchair of course. If we're lucky Dally can manage a few hours out, although usually it's less.

Obviously Dally's myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) was missed by doctors for quite some time, and we didn't catch it until we discovered Dally's POTS (which is a side effect of ME) by that time too much damage had been done. If you push through ME, you end up accidentally making yourself much worse. For a year and a half Dally was trying to exercise it away, as they'd been advised :face-sad: Dally is now classed as having severe ME, they are predominantly bedbound, the fatigue and pain is awful to see. Despite this they never give up and are constantly trying to adapt and find ways to stay happy.

We are on the waiting list to see an ME specialist, but that could involve over 2 years of waiting, so it's hard. Currently we are battling through yet another GP complaint (following more awful treatment). We're both beyond frustrated with the NHS at this point. We are getting a stairlift thanks to a local council scheme that gives out grants though, which will really help us.

I know this isn't a very cheery update, and I know Dally gets tired of constantly telling everyone how badly they're doing. Referred to as 'moaning', when in actual fact it's so rare they moan despite how much pain they are in...it's an update nonetheless.

Dally has a blog here where they post as often as possible, and they post a little more on Facebook too, even just photo updates. Thanks again and I'll read Dally these messages when they're well enough :face-smile:

Hi Lyle, thanks for the update. Tell Dally they're far from moaning - the positivity from both of you is nothing short of amazing considering everything you're having to put up with. I'm a moaner - I try not to, but I find talking about things that bother me often results in me finding a solution. I have some great colleagues at work too who listen to me moan and keep my spirits up. I am lucky that my issues are minor in comparison and hearing about Dally's difficulties puts mine into perspective. Such amazing strength of character - they're a very strong person inside, it's the body that's the failing!

I hope the menagerie of pets keeps spirits up - I've always found animals amazingly intuitive, understanding, sympathetic and empathic. Can I thank you for taking such good care of Dally. Your life must be extremely stressful too watching someone you care for going through such difficulties, but you seem to take it in your stride. You are both wonderful people - the human race needs more like you!!
