It is the return of the prodigal hen-keeper!! I have been dipping in and out but not posting because (and this is the truth) our internet connection is atrociously another word for excrement that rhymes with rap. Today is a good day, we've had connection for almost 2 hours! Most days, it's 30 seconds, reboot, 30 second, reboot. I don't know how my husband manages to work from home. Ho-hum, that's life in the countryside, I suppose.
Anyway, girls are all fine although Twinkle is moulting and looks like a feather duster that's been mauled by a cat. Dogs are fine, although 14 year old Springer had a stroke 2 weeks ago but fully recovered except that he can't run in a straight line anymore. The working cocker was also castrated last week but it didn't slow him down. And he has lovely clean teeth now, too! Cats, well still not sure what they're for.
Will go and catch with the news here now.

Hey Volka nice to hear from you! :)

Ah would love to see photos of your dogs! Fourteen years old is good for a Springer, I'm glad he recovered from the stroke. How old is your cocker? I've seen a few cocker spaniels around Thornton, the first time I've seen any up close!

Hehe last I saw Penny she was moulting and looking a bit ratty, but that's nothing compared to how bad Tilly will look! She ends up almost bald and it takes her months to grow her feathers back

Are you not much of a cat person either?! :P

Not overly, with the moulting and weeing and vomiting, but I have to say ours are quite amusing. I only got mine because he turned up and wouldn't go away and my husband came with the other one!

Cats are my thing - but then I like nearly all animals. I could almost be hari-krishna if it wasn't for spiders!

Glad your springer has recovered Volka. x

There are 2 lovely gingers at the rehoming centre that've just been reserved - Bourbon and Biscuit. Bourbon is the more confident, but once Biscuit accepts your hand she will purr like a, well, like a cat!! There's also a ginger and white kitten (Freddy I think) who's there with his sister. You could always feed him up!!!

Oh yeah, and a cat would cope amazingly with our dog chasing it around our small flat :rolling:

Get the right cat and it might be the dog being chased.I speak as the owner - no, who am I kidding, as the PET of an exceptionally arsey dog-chasing cat...:face-devil-grin:

The only dogs that seem to be a problem for cats are loose greyhounds! You can usually tell a dog that lives with a cat from the scar they all have right across the nose ... !

That's true, there's a cat in a house we walk past that tries to attack me and Lyle, never mind the dog!! Kasper obviously doesn't understand, he just leaps about in front of it trying to play, and I have to try and chase it away whilst it tries to attack me... :001_rolleyes:
