Karen fed a bag of spinach leaves, bought from the shop, to the Hens and they went at it like they hadnt been fed for a week so they obviously love it. The question is can they have too much "Greens"? we've run out of dandilion leaves and the neighbours think Karen is a bit mad when she asks "Can I de-weed the garden for you"

    Keeper of the hens

I wouldn't have thought there's any danger in letting them pig out on greens every now and then...I suppose too much will probably result in runny poo's but hey chickens do enough of them as it is!!

We used to give our girls full bags of salad leaves or full heads of cabbage and they were always fine - your girls will appreciate the special treatment and begin expecting it more often if anything!

Mine go mad for dandelions and raid the rabbit hutch every morning in case Treacle has left some greens uneaten (unlikely, but hope springs eternal in the chicken heart!).
