Hi every one. I'm new here & am trying to figure out how to use this site, but in the mean time will post my problem here, so if anyone knows whats wrong with my chicken, please advise.
She has a swollen abdomen (between her legs) resulting in her walking with a wide gait. She's not very happy, she walks slowly, her head & tail are down, & just sits most of the time. when she does wok it is slow & uncomfortable.
    Help?
    :face-sad:

It sounds a little as though she might be egg bound....put it in this forum's search thingy, and lots of good advice will pop up. I'm not a chicken boffin, I'm afraid, but you'll see if the symptoms described there fit those you describe.

    Keeper of the hens

Does sound like she may be egg bound - have a read of the thread below and try some of the 'things to try'

    http://www.hencam.co.uk/hencam_forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=686&page=1#Item_10

If none of those work, you want to take her to a chicken-friendly and experienced vet, as hens can die from being egg bound.

Good luck and I hope she recovers.
