We couldnt find Sootz yesterday before we went out to Strutts mill. We were calling him and searching the garden. I came indoors and looked in all his best sleeping haunts. We were getting into quite a flap worrying where he could be. Then guess what a shaggy black head peered out of a box on the conservatory window sill right near the back door. He could have let us know he was in there fifteen minutes earlier and you know what? I swear blind he was smirking.

Of COURSE he was smirking; they do it on purpose, like kids playing hide & seek. Little s*d!
Man makes a 'phone call, little boy answers and whispers 'Hello'.
'Can I speak to Mr Smith please?'
'No, he's busy,' whispers the boy.
'Do you know when he'll be available please?'
'No, depends when the police go.'
'Good God. What are the police doing?'
'They're here with dogs and divers, they've dragged the lake, quizzed all the neighbours and are combing the garden.'
'Good God, what are they looking for?'
    'Me.'

We have been hearing scuffling in the loft a couple of nights now and while Grandad North was putting the decorations away he had a scout round. He found two decapitated sparrows and a scattering of what looks like rat droppings to me.
He then had what he thought was the bright idea of sticking Daisy up there, she is our best catcher of beastiesand fierce in the line of battle.
Oh yes she was no trouble carried her up there a treat.... catch anything ? Noooo but marked every box corner with her lip several times...... trouble to get her back down ?? Umm yes you could say that. Needed the oven gloves a Mr Spock like grip and a lot of cussing. Took three goes, two plasters and a cold compress for a bruised knee then a glass of best malt for shock. Oh and Daisy? yes she is fine strutting about like the queen of Sheba..... Ha that will teach them... expecting me to work... well I dont think so

LOve the dough byt play on words NN and the cartoon too.

I gave Brian a copy of '50 SHEDS of Grey' for Christmas, a very humorous parody about mens stuff in the shed, some cheeky but very fuuny. Haven't bothered with the '50 Shades' as I have heard very ordinary reports to date.

Gosh! There really IS a book "50 Sheds of Grey"!
I thought that was a joke.
So I toddled off to Amazon (via Hencam of course) to find there are a few different versions on this "Grey" theme. The one I liked best has blank pages cloured grey, just a notebook.

The "Shades of Gray" ones were aimed at bored housewives but I've found it's the younger teens who are reading them.

Few people remember that Albert Einstein the Nobel Prize winner married his cousin, Elsa Lowenthal, after his first marriage dissolved in 1919. At the time he stated that he was attracted to Elsa because she was so well endowed.
He postulated that if men are attracted to women with large chests, the attraction is even stronger if there is a DNA Connection.

This came to be known as Einstein's Theory of "Relative Titty.

I remember you posting a picture of the pasties we were making and you put sesame seeds all over them. I always do that now and every one says how delish they are.

Yum yum now I am really really peckish but I know if I have a 2.35am snack it will then sit like a rock in the tummy:face-devil-grin:
    sesame seeds rock....er rule!

I fluctuate between big batches of home cooking and then short cuts as my fatigue sometimes slows me down but I still try to forge on ahead.

Same here, when that fatigue hits you it is such a nuisance trying to drag yourself about. It is just the two of us at the moment so I dont need to bake so much. But I do pies for Grandad North as he loves them so much I freeze the extra and it makes for an easy meal or a nice change in his lunch box

I really like cooking enough to freeze too, I make an assortment of soups and love selecting a portion for one from the collection in the freezer. Brian loves them too as an easy lunch here with toast or a savoury muffin as he works from home.

I made asparagus soup today.it is for my meal tonight as I can not eat pies being gluten intolerant. When we have asparagus I always save the stalk bit you cut off, stick them in the freezer until I have enough and then make cream of asparagus soup from them I whizz it all up with the stick blender then strain the woody bits out. I use lacto free milk to make it creamy as i have an intolerance to lactose as well. I get mighty fed up with myself at times as I used to love food so much. Free from stuff is awful like cardboard or rubbery. The pasta is fine though so thats a blessing.

What a wonderful chat that was I eardropped into - (though a lot later).

Having time band experiments myself too tonight.
Family are in Malasia and we had a conversation on skype with an eight hour difference. Been having trouble deciding which way to wind my clock but then found a good website that sorted it.
Not used skype before, I'm very impressed.

Ollie it was lovely to 'talk' to a real person as I said to NN. Working out time difference can be abother, I use a site called the 'world clock' which is very handy. Well done with skype!!!:face-smile:

Well, I'm even later to the party! When I read posts I imagine how you each sound so it is like listening to a conversation. Strange thing is, in my head TM doesn't have an Aussie accent!!

I'm very interested in your comments about fatigue. I'm really beginning to suffer with that. Hubby thinks I just need to go do some exercise, but I can't even drag myself to the kitchen and back some days! Any tips for coping? What causes it? I'm wondering if I'm anaemic again but don't want to go the doc in case he thinks I'm a hypochondriac!

Fatigue is a real bother at times Kate, it can be caused by many different things. Mine is caused by the drug they gave me in hospital several years back which permanetly damaged my inner ear so my balance is shot (always knew I was unbalanced :face-devil-grin:) and because my brain struggles every day to keep me upright and works overtime I get tired easily and have to pace myself. I can be fine then suddenly feel if I don't sit down I will fall.

I wobble a fair bit and some days better than others but I can't predict too far ahead how I will be, just have to look after myself and grab the good bits of life where I can. I have also found that breathing thru my nose is helping me sleep better and I practice this as often as I can remember. Learnt about it from my Bowen therapy man.

I would suggest you do have a chat to doc and also try to conserve your energy as much as possible and 'save up' yourself when you know you have a lot on, not always easy I know.

Now what has this got to do with the weather?? oh hang on it's not the weather thread, it's the 'it made me laugh' one, well I just did!!! he he he.:face-devil-grin:

Thanks TM, I really should go the docs as its making me stress and that sends me round and down because I don't like the unknown. My brain always thinks the worst - the curse of the pessimist! This thread usually cheers me up though-I love a good laugh!,

Nugget is almost as big as Locky now yet insists on trying to sleep underneath Locky like a little chick. I looked in the house at bedtime; it looks as though someone is playing Jenga with chickens...
