    Keeper of the hens

On the 25th March 2013 Kasper celebrates his second Gotcha Day with us, meaning we have had him for two whole years! :)

Because he is spoiled (and incredibly cute AND I couldn't wait to give him them...) he got most of his presents today, apart from hid edibles which we will save for the actual date.

Kasper got an amazingly cool new harness and a new puzzle feeder, both of which he loves, and he has a wonky chomp and some baked goodies left for the day which we will wrap.

To avoid any jealousy (haha!) Zoey get a new lead - which has a really cool design in that it's one strip of leather, two clips and several D clips, meaning you can alter the length of the lead! - and a new collar.

Both are happy pups - check out the forum for pics! :)

And a present for us - a stairgate into the animal room!

     photo gotcha19_zps1485fcdb.jpg

I know it's not his actual gotcha day but he really deserved it today, he did amazingly well with his sister on their big off-lead walk together and I just love him to bits. He's the most amazing dog in the world and I'm so glad he ended up with us!

Lovely doggies and lucky too, nice pressies. I have been looking for a Kong toy for Koko but they are all so huge.

He is very active and clever and need lots of stimutation as he gets bored too then does naughty things just like a puppy. They say Burmese are the most dog like of the cat world.

He also digs in the garden when we walk him outside and tries to roll in the dirt for goodness sake!!!

I wish a stair gate would work to keep him out of our bedroom, we don't have a door and he often wants to play at 5am aaarrggghhh!:face-devil-grin:

    Keeper of the hens

Hahaha, well they are my furkids ;)

Today is Kasper's actual gotcha day, so we took him on a huge 3 hour hike! We went Gilstead - Bingley - Harden - St Ives - Myrtle Park (Bingley) - Gilstead!

See the white field amongst the trees way above Lyle's head, right on the skyline? That's where we went!

    Rolling in the snow!

     photo gotcha6_zps3c292614.jpg

He was overjoyed to be there

I like the pic of you & Lyle on the bench, Red...though I must say you've aged a bit since I saw you last...:P
I'm surprised Kaspar hasn't got legs like a dachshund after that yomp! Looks as though he enjoyed every second. Happy Gotcha Day, Kasp!

I saw some excellent dog leads this week on the Internet. A nice simple idea, as long as owners are honest and realistic of course!

    Keeper of the hens

Haha I probably did look something like that CC

I was exhausted afterwards, think my legs have shrunk nevermind his!! Kasper showed no signs of slowing, just sprinting and mad snow rolling all the way back!

That's a brilliant idea Kate...although the red one should be danger, or at least something else...caution makes me think 'may be okay', not the red option...but that may just be me! They need a no humans one too!! I would certainly buy that if I had a DA dog. Have you heard of the yellow ribbon for dogs? If the dog's DA or just needs space you tie a yellow ribbon on the lead, but the harnesses are much better

What's a DA dog, Red? But I also think that 'DANGER' on a leasd wopuld only serve to fuel the anti-bull terrier mood that's around at the moment. It's making me so cross I have to keep turning the wireless off.
But I agree those leads are a fantastic idea, Kate - well spotted!

    Likewise CC.

I've never heard of the yellow ribbon - is it to tell you to leave them alone? (I haven't heard of DA either).

    Keeper of the hens

OOOPs sorry, it's just shorthand for 'dog aggressive' :)

Yes, the yellow ribbon simply means 'leave me alone', but doesn't say why or if it refers to dogs or humans. I thought that was a good idea but really like the harnesses. I wonder if you can make custom harnesses somewhere, I bet you can...

You used to be able to get collars made from the same materials with whatever words you want woven in, such as the pet's name, so I'm sure somewhere would do them.
