    Keeper of the hens

A place to share any and all Christmas decorations...we are starting slightly (only slightly!) early as our tree is up...and maybe my dad will post one of their little nativity set which is out too?

We have the decorations at the ready! See Kasper's stocking? We lost Zoey's during the house move/s - ooops!!

     photo tree6_zpse36f7772.jpg

Lyle adding tinsel...we had to get the tree off the table to put the lights on, but our tinsel is like half a metre long so that was easier haha!

     photo tree7_zps64bac1d7.jpg

We have a lot of dog-themed baubles :P

     photo tree9_zps202c9e9c.jpg

Lights, tinsel and a few baubles...

     photo tree8_zps22225735.jpg

    Oooh, shiny!

     photo tree10_zpsb6f1153b.jpg

Done! The star didn't fit on top (we have to have our tree on a table, otherwise Kasper and Zoey are VERY interested! :tooth: )

     photo tree11_zpsc54f0e76.jpg
    And festive Zoey :)

I'll post Zoey's new stocking when we pick it up...I'm aiming to get another obscenely cute photo of both pups sat in front of the tree too, so will post that here if it works out! :tooth:

Oh, and here are some Christmas-themed dog goodies we picked up today; crunchy snowballs and candy canes!

We sure do CC! We don't sell them online anymore though, we were rather busy with dog walking!! So we just sell in bulk orders to businesses such as kennels instead
    Thank you both :)

Lynn, I don't know how the pups would actually react to a tree...Kasper's previous owner said he used to go under it, lie on his back and kick his legs to knock the baubles off!!! So we just always had it on a table out of the way...

I have decided I am going to enjoy Christmas this year. The tree is going up on 1st December, I've bought a shelf-elf to try and keep the grandkids under control (he's sent by Santa and reports back if children have been naughty or nice!) Hubby has been told bah-humbug is not allowed, otherwise I'm fixing the TV on the Christmas 24 channel!

I'm not allowed to watch Christmas films usually - the huffing and puffing from hubby and the boys is more than I can bear. I hoped the kids would be on nanny's side but they'd rather be watching rubbish on the computer.

I wonder if Zoey will understand how to unwrap her pressies this year...it's odd, normally she will tear anything she finds to shreds, but with presents she just sits there looking confused until we help her out (gets very excited when they're open though!)

My parents bought us this weird 'magic' growing Christmas tree - anyone ever seen one before? You add special water to the bottom of a cardboard tree and it apparently grows into a Christmas tree within 24 hours. We only did it about an hour ago so nothing's happened yet, but here's the before pic!

Kasper and Zoey's new tags arrived too, but I'm a bit disappointed with them...the mitten and Let It Snow aren't actually attached to the tag as it looks in the photo, they're actually just charms so swing about everywhere. This usually means the tag looks really plain and boring with just the dogs' names on them...oh well, they're still cute.

Could I super glue the charms onto the tag, do you think...?

This is the first year for ages we've been able to actually have a tree up, because every year for 6 years we've had kittens who love to demolish the tree. Only trouble is I couldn't be bothered to get it out and decorate it. So all I did was unpack some of my Christmas angels and one of my 4 different nativity scenes. We don't do Christmas in a big way in our family. We stopped gift giving many years ago, except for kids under 16. (I really don't need any more 'stuff' to clutter up the house) Hubby puts up lights outside, I love the twinkling ones best of all. As many of the extended family as can, get together for lunch. This year there were only 7 of us. It's sad when loved ones move so far away from home base. Tried to up load a couple of pics, but no go. Don't know why my 'quote' has ended up like it has, all the others look neat. :face-plain:

Chooks, it is hard when family move so far away. We were lucky this year, as all three of our adult step-grandkids made it home, one lives in Arizona (newly married), one in Oklahoma and one lives here in Washington state. It was wonderful to have them here. I hope that maybe next year, you will have a bigger turnout for lunch with your extended family.:face-smile:

Nice to be back every one, its been a busy and very happy year and has so made up for all the bad things of the last couple of years. Ive done loads of travelling here and there so when I have been home it is a case of catching up on jobs. I have also been busy with my crochet hook teaching and making gifts for friends and family. I see Ollie mentioned the poppies We went to see them after coming home from Norway as we were at Gatwick we were so close we took the opportunity as they had just started dismantling them, it was such a wonderful experience and we were so glad we stopped by. We didnt get home till five that night or should I say morning !! but were so glad we had paid our respects. I got a couple of pictures so you can see them Lynn. Thats all for now as I am knitting a bobble hat and got to get it finished today. Love to you all xxx

It wasn't too bad after all - there were very few people in so I got lots of work done and chatted when I wanted to! Next week it'll be back to normal I suppose.

Well, my 2015 has started off horrible. My father-in-law (my late husband Jerry's Dad) died this morning. He's been my Dad for 49 years and I loved him dearly. If this is any indication of how the rest of the year will be, I'm not looking forward to it.:face-crying:

CC, he had cancer and it spread like wild fire. There wasn't anything they could do about it.
