Really sad news - Oreo who was one of my favourites at rehoming, came out of the pen as a centre cat, got ringworm and ended up in isolation before coming back to homing and finally getting a home has passed away. He was a beautiful long-haired black and white boy, aged about 7.

A lady came in on Saturday and said she'd lost her lovely boy to a heart attack. When she said it was Oreo I cried (not sobbing, but an overspill of tears) and she told me how happy he'd been, how much she'd loved him, and she showed me some photos. I'm so happy he had a good home and was loved. She chose a new cat called Bonnie Bardot - white and tortie, big friendly girl.

    Sleep soundly Oreo.

Bless him. At least he had a loving home at the end...

Exactly. And to make the day better we rehomed quite a few cats, including Tink who'd been there since August all through the flu outbreak.

I love this forum. When I search through old posts I see mentions of CP cats and it brings back lots of good memories.

    Keeper of the hens

Poor Oreo :( How lovely he had such a caring home for the end though.

I was reading a dog blog recently, and a puppy they went to training class died of a heart attack at only 9 months old. So sad

Oh that's sad and very young to die of something like that.

Oh, poor little Oreo, but I'm glad he was so loved before he died and in a great home, Kate. RIP Oreo. :face-crying:
